I hope I do not get in trouble for this from the experienced folks but here we go... Students are exempt from beer rules. A student does not have to buy beer until they graduate AFF or whatever training method they are using. Once off student status then of course you will being buying plenty of "cases" for what seems to be first time events and signifigant achievements on like every other jump... What to buy?? Depends were you are, and what region you are in. Some regions or DZ's might expect fine quality micro brews while other places are more happy with a case of miller lite. You gotta feel out the individual DZ. Actually another good idea would be to figure out what you Jump Master likes. After all who cares what anyone else thinks about you but your JM. They're the person you need to impress Spirits vs. Beer? There will always be a need for beer to chase spirits if you bring any. At my current home DZ, Crown Royal is a nightly favorite but not a substitute for beer. Hope that helps brother Good luck with training...
