Hey Liz ask him if he wants to do a Tandem this weekend... It's been so long since I lost one that I could probably get off Scott free on this one...

Congratulations my friend!! It is commitment that will eventually lead you to success and great reward. It is hard to convey that to people sometimes, especially folks that may struggle a bit with their skydiving progression... Cheers to you again!!! Epic blue skies and great white puffies to you!!

Would you love him if he looked like the attached photo? Edited to add: This may hurt your eyes...

Tim welcome to the froums brother!!!

Let's start by saying he did not know his handle had been pulled. First thing I did was get right in front of him and docked on his arm grips. As people approached to dock on us thinking we where the base I waved one arm wildly like a wave off motion(like at pull time). That was the way I was telling people to leave. I'm sure the look on my face as they approached was also a hint. So then I looked at Vinnie and repeatedly touched my cutaway handle. He eventually did the same and realized he did not have a cutaway. I'm sure he knew what he had to do at that point but I went further and started tapping my reserve handle and mouthing the word "go silver" over and over. I could tell he understood. I stayed with him and continually waved folks off. In hind sight I should have kicked my legs a little more too. I stayed with him till 3,500 feet when I noticed everyone was gone and gave him the standard pull signal. He pulled silver... One other thing I did not notice that I should have is that he did have an RSL. Had he just deployed normally maybe he would have had a slower opening but I did not notice in freefall he had an RSL... So aside from that there was not much else to do. There was mention that we should have continued the dive and that he should have been prepared for that situation anyway. The was not an option for me. No heroics. Nthing to really be scared about. Just letting everyone notice what I noticed. Just as I would expect the same from anyone else... I probably was more annoyed than usual because I did feel bad. Being led to believe it was my fault any of it had happened in the first place. I just didn't see it as a humorus episode. reserve repack, ordering a new handle, hosing the rest of the day for a fellow jumper, watching 12 other people floundering around the sky just slightly confused... ...those things can weigh heavy on the mind. Mine anyway. ...I'm surprised I received so much shit for pulling a handle more than I did for punching him out on exit Crapflinger I have never laughed so hard at a post before That being said... I think we can move on now. -

I've decided not to post anything else on the matter regarding the incident. You guys do it on your own. Everybody thinks I pulled Vinnies (TheAnvil's) cutaway when the exit funneled on our second record attempt this weekend. Here is a pic attached that shows my hand on the pillow. Anyway after I noticed the cutaway handle fly by me and noticed it was TheAnvil's, I quickly grabbed him and waved everybody off. I made sure that the airspace above him and around him was clear and indicated to him that he would need to go straight to silver. He understood and everybody made it the ground safely... Regardless if I did it or not I offered to pay Vinnie for half the reserve repack and half the cost of his handle because of the grief I have received. And the grief poured on by some has been pretty overboard. To the point where I am questioning some of my friendships at the DZ. People can be such pricks sometimes. This was not an incident of poor judgement or carelessness. If you do something stupid because of ignorance or poor judgement then whatever, tease them, laugh at them, whatever floats your boat, teach em a lesson by making people feel bad I guess... But if you're not sure what happened, like something that happened Sunday where there was no carelessness or ignorance. Just an incident that nobody really knows what happened. The situation was dealt with properly. That should be that. I could mention quite a few stupid things that people have done in these forums. I don't. You see me riding anyone about how they can't exit a fuckin plane? So stfu... And what I did was not stupid. It was an accident I'm not really sure I am responsible for but I took responsibility anyway. Cause of some of you fuckers out there riding me so hard. So whatever... P.S. ~ I'm not really that mad... Just kind of annoyed. -

Believe it or not I been stuck workin an unable to post more than a one liner or two... (Not that there's anything new there)... So we had a wicked weekend for sure. Plenty of Dz.commers and then some. Really this was thrown together because Pop was visiting from Texas. "Our favorite Texan" I think I referred to him as before the fire suppression. Though to be honest Swoopyswoop is probably our very very favorite Texan though he lives in the bay area with us for now. Saturday was just a play around do whatever jump jump jump with whomever kind of day. hybrids, trackign dives, blah blah just jumping like mofo's Good times to say the least. The BBQ afterwards was epic and the the suds flowed and flowed and flowed... And well the specifics of the after sunset events that evening will have to stay classified for a while... Sunday started of kind of fuzzy for most of us... Not me though Duece, the man, the mith, the legend, and the man with the biggest damn gear box I have ever seen was there to motivate the slackers right of the bat. Immediately load one became a thrown together dz.com tracking dive that ended up way way west. Duece's pre first jump at Hollister. Everybody else had been here once or twice before. And we all made it back... So much for my usual first load of the day off spot So then it was on to the first record attempt. First attempt was designed as a two point twelve way with video. The dive was made just like the previous succesful attempt at Perris with a California cheater point thrown in after the build. So darn close. Just one person out. It built smoothly from the king air with people of mixed experience who don't jump together that often...Quite impressive to say the least, oh and man was that break off awesome. Safe fun and so darn close to a record... Some folks had to leave after the first attempt some had pretty bad hangovers and some had to work a bit ... We were only able to get one more attempt in that day. We would have succeded on this two point thirteen way. It was innevitable. The preperation the motivation the energy... ahh but alas something happened on the exit.. At this point I will refer you to the incident forums for a post regarding this jump very soon. Today or tomorrow... Though I'm sure folks already know it involved a cutaway pillow getting dislodged during a funnel... No one was hurt... I just have to mention what a bunch of special people we have posting on these forums and some real real class acts. So a big them them fuck them to all who cruised by this weekend with us and to those who wanted to but could not... Peace!! Blue Skies!! Until next time... Now let's focus on Perris this weekend!! Kick some @ss kiddo's

Duece you are one class act brother!! Exellent exellent pictures... I know you have more than that too How do I get a copy of one of those pics?

Old ~ getting really old. There is no evidence of anything. There are several shots that could indicate someone else knocked the handle out too... Just because my open hand (mind you not close fisted) happened to be right on or near his cutaway pillow does not mean that's where and when it came out... Things happen in crazy funnels. No one is at fault for anything here. When you say incriminating you indicate something criminal happened. Is that what you really think? It was funny for a while but now it's just plain mean. I'm happy no one was hurt personally... especially Vinnie. I love that guy a lot. I had a fun weekend. It's all about fun. If it was not fun I wouldn't do it... The only thing that's not fun is when people get a little mean... So anyway um yeah whatever... We where so damn close on that first attempt, so close...
