i'd go with the nintendo game cube for an 11 year old... most of the games available for it are aimed at younger folks. more 'cute and cuddly' type games available for it than the fps and hard core sports games on the other systems. edited to add game suggestions: pikmin is really fun (for adults too). it's kind of a puzzle game and will make her fiugre out solutions to problems. there's a sequel coming out this fall sometime. the mario games (and luigi's mansion) are good. i would also suggest you find out what her friends have, if they can share games, it costs you less money!
