my first 'fun' exit was a ride-the-slide and i still like doing them once in awhile. it's acutally part of the progression, i think it's called an intentional unstable exit. good fun from a cessna! confiscate the gear, no. as someone pointed out, the dzo has no claim to the gear. ground him, yes. if the dzo assumed the seal was legit, it would mean the pack job was way out of date and until it was repacked, the jumper wouldn't be able to jump legally anyway. why did the dzo open the reserve? ***100 jump wonder warning!*** like anything else, a suit designed specifically for what you're doing will help to a certain extent. what will help more, especially at 18 jumps (!) is to pick a discipline, one discipline, and work on it instead of back, sit and belly and trying to find a suit that will work well at all of them. i would think that even a hard core free flyer will tell you to stay on your belly for at least 50 jumps or so. obviously, i don't know you or your abilities, maybe you only have 18 skydives, but you have 100 hours in a tunnel. sorry, should have put tags in there. cow-orker: it's a dilbert thing. co-worker....never mind i know what a hole-in-one is, i was trying (in vain apparently) to make a joke. i don't know if he's a funny pants type golfer, but he has the short, overweight, balding, middle-aged thing down. i'll go back to my self-imposed banishment from bonfire now. what's he on about? i thought that meant he'd stepped on a nail, but he seemed too happy for it to have meant he'd ruined a pair of boots. . "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

i can't comment on florida dz's since i've never been there, but between perris and sdc, i'd choose perris for hard-core training and the tunnel, but if i was looking for a place to learn and have fun, it would be chicago all the way. the whole facility was built to be a dropzone, not a normal airport shared with general aviation. tons of outs, huge landing area, awesome facilities, great people, fun vibe. would this also cover infinity rigs? mine had the cutter on a closing flap and i was thinking that if the 'device' was used in an up-down orientation it would be putting significant pressure on the cutter. side to side wouldn't be so bad. ...waddya do? i just got my new canopy and due to the much smaller lines, i switched from big bands to small bands on the dbag. i figured that would be good, but i discovered that the last 4 stows (below the cascades) the lines are very loose and look like they would dump in a heartbeat. i don't want to double stow them, are there any other alternatives? creamed peas on toast! make a roux (not sure of the spelling, but it's equal amounts of butter and flour, about a 1/3 of a cup of each) and add the juice from an 8 ounce can of peas (slowly, stirring constantly), then enough milk to make it about as thick as 80w gear oil. add salt and pepper to taste, then dump in the peas to heat them up. serve over hot buttered toast, cut into 1" squares. quick and easy to make, has a nice old school taste, really sticks to your ribs. and it's cheap! it's full of carby goodness. side note: i was going away for a week long training course and i knew i was staying at a suites hotel with a kitchen. i decided i would make some while i was there, and rather than buy a bag of flour when i only needed a little bit, i put a baggy of it in my luggage. had a hard time explaining it to the nice security folks. Study: Americans Too Confident About Retirement Planning

i'm on the 'work 'til i die' plan. . actually, if i can stay with my current employer for another 20 years or so, i'll be okay. a little insane (or a little more insane, depending on how i'm perceived), but okay for dollars.
