i know what you mean... personally i like the cold better than the heat... when it's cold, you can put on more clothes or stay home, when it's hot, you more or less put up with it... that said, a nice 80 some-odd degree day, in the shade with a cool one is preferable to a blizzard! I did a google search and the only dz i found in the dominican is Skydive El Portillo Samana. i am planning a (hypothetical at this point) vacation down that way next winter and was wondering if anywone knew about this place, or any others there.. i think one of the biggest culprits for a poorly operating machine (next to having windows for an os that is) is downloading and installing every bit of shareware you can find. some of them are poorly written and can chew up memory, overwrite critical system files etc... i do that to an extent, but then i flatten the machine and rebuild from scratch every couple of months. at work we are pretty restricted as to what we can run, and that helps as well...

i've actually done it in under 14 in the large car (freightliner) back when i usta wuz... i think we could do it in 12, keeping in mind that 300 miles in nb canada (partly two lane) 300 miles through maine (rt 9 and i95), then a bit of nh, mass, ct, ny and then jersey.... we can handle it though! bob newhart does a skit (it's real old) on the origins of smoking. if you've never heard his standup stuff you should try to find it. this particular one is what he thought would happen if they had phones back in the days of sir walter raleigh, and the bit was one side of a phone conversation between him and the british-east india company with him explaining tobacco to them. priceless!!
