they told us he is about 6 months, but he's already bigger than the two we have. he's about 3 pounds and the others are about 2 and 1.5 pounds respectively. apparently he was aggressive with his siblings from the start, and i guess he got passed over because of that. i'll try some of the tips that were so kindly passed on and i'll keep you posted!

yup! doogie jumps at skydive moncton, teaches first jump courses, does coaching, works the radio and throws people out of airplanes when he isn't busy. he is also in charge of the fire at the labor day boogie. i'm actually going out for beer with him (and a bunch of regulars) tonight. i'm hoping he has my new toys (altimeter and dytter) with him! thanks for the replies everyone, except jt! that was funny as hell by the way but i'm not sure of the procedure. i'll try some of the others first. the problem is i'd have to bathe myself in the bitter apple stuff (i already have some from when we got the second ferret). i wear gloves when i handle him, but he sniffs around until he finds bare skin and then he bites. we have him segregated from all other animals and people in the house and just deal with him one on one. he only bit me three times last night, and didn't draw much blood. that's better than sunday when we brought him home, so i'll call that progress! we had two ferrets, both came home as youngsters and we had no problems other than the usual 'breaking them in' stuff, and they are now funny, happy guys, about a year old. my wife went to the pet store to get some ferret food for them and saw an older ferret (6 months or so) and he had been drastically marked down. his story was that he came for another store and he had been biting everybody. i suspect he had been mistreated. anywho, they weren't going to keep him much longer and he would have been put down. a combination of a soft heart and a soft head, we figured we had enough experience to break him of this biting habit so now he's at my house. so far, he has bit my hand 5 or 6 times, drawing blood everytime. he also latched onto my face and you can clearly see all four fang punctures, two below my lip and two more on my chin(ouch!). anyone else have experience with this? he seems scared to death of everything. we haven't let him loose with the other two and won't until he seems better. i don't know the numbers, but i had surgery when i was 20 or 21 on my lower back, hurt it in my lumberjack days. i had a pinched sciatic nerve, my doctor kept putting off surgery for almost a year, then finally sent me to a neurosurgeon who did some xrays and then operated the next day. been fine since though (17 years!), and that included almost 10 years of bouncing around in a freightliner. good luck! i know, i know, 500 or 600 horsepower would be cool, but 1000? how the hell would they keep that hooked up? you'd need traction control systems just to keep it from melting the tires off. i'd prefer something simpler. it's all smoke and mirrors anyway, i doubt they'd ever put that on the road. if they tried, someone would try to pass a law to stop it. environmentalists would hate it, auto clubs would hate it, the 55mph crowd would have a collective fit over it. I was going to post this in the "I just don't want to be at work today" thread, but that got hijacked awhile ago. i was driving in to work this morning and as i entered the parking area i ran through a river i didn't remember being there before. turns out a water main had burst and they had to shut off the water to our building to perform repairs. no water, no work! woohoo!!! free holiday! just thought i'd share.
