  1. "It's pictures like that that make me feel like I could wear a thong bikini and get away with it." Compared to those 'honeys' even I might look better in a thong bikini than they do...... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 2. So, when we are talking about Great Danes, we ain't talking about Madds Larsen and Nils Brusgard then?
  3. Dubya's dad, forget his name.....Didn't he do some AFF thing in Yuma? -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Thomas Jefferson
  4. Hey Dave, it would appear that the counter keeps ticking even if you delete posts. I checked my numbers, posted a reply, deleted it, then checked my numbers again. Therefore I get two counts for the price of one. Still a long way short of you though...... Editing your posts doesn't seem to add to the numbers. If you delete before anyone subsequently posts on the same thread, there are no tracks left, that we can see anyways. I know the Greenies see things we don't, which is probably a good thing! -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 5. Yup, Jimmy, he was a misunderstood genius. This is known as cluster ballooning nowadays, and its growing in popularity....and yes, they have been jumped! Attached are a couple of snaps from Simon Ward of Mike Howard over Bristol, UK....300 off 3 ft helium ballons. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 6. "Just curious about the excuses that have been used" I'm not speeding, I'm just flying low........Bumper sticker used by camera flier (Eeeezeee) at Spaceland. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 7. "A united world against a dictator works a lot better than allowing him to think the rest of the world will let him get buy and continue. " There you have it Jim, the 'United World' must do this, not a coalition which appears to be in a minority, albeit a minority that is growing in international support. Saddam is in a box right now, he can't go anywhere, or do anything that might threaten our fragile peace. He knows it and we know it, the eyes of the world are upon him. If we invade and replace this regime with one of our own liking, without 'world support' we open the door for years of 'freedom fighters/terrorists' to do their thing on our soil, to our people, wherever and whenever they feel like it, its how they wage war. They will have a 'just cause' to poison, maim, and kill us (or at the very least change our carefree world forever) at their discretion. This 'just cause' will more than likely take a religious angle, further splitting the civilised world, and leading to the worst form of fanaticism (Bin Laden is already trying to use this angle to stir things up), people killing each other in 'God's name'. I'm already seeing hints of sectarianism here on this forum, and the real nasty stuff hasn't started yet, for example. "a relative handfull of fanatics supported by an entire region and religion decide to make a strike on a very high profile soft target" I'm pretty sure Al Quaeda/OBL do not actually have the support of the entire Middle East, nor do they represent the feelings of Muslims across the world, but sectarianism hatred can, and will, breed hatred, and misinformation on both sides to fuel this conflict. I for one don't want to see a holy war. We must have the support of the UN before we act, if this involves gathering sufficient evidence to persude other members, or providing regimes (with a less than shiney human rights record) a little aid in exchange for votes, then so be it. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 8. Its perfectly clear to me Ron, and I agree with you 100% "in all probability it will most likely be used to save you after you make some very large mistake..." Its just that most people don't want to believe they can screw up that much. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 9. Not sure about the law over there Mark, but isn't there some sort of libel action the DZ can take, either to supress an unfair report, or after the broadcast? You guys seem to be able to sue for all sorts of things, surely loss of earnings and defamation of reputation could be considered as grounds for a suit?. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 10. Andrea...Bagpuss here... http://www.smallfilms.co.uk/bagpuss/people.htm Just out of curiosity, what were you thinking of when you heard the name???? BTW welcome Baggy, good to see another Brit on board. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 11. Yes Jim. Indeed a very colo(u)rful example of our humo(u)r. Thanks man.
  12. "No need for PAL and NTSC versions, like VHS. " Hmmm, sounds odd, frame rate differences etc...? You sure about that Cajones? Anyways, most modern VHS machines and TVs over here are capable of projecting both formats...
  13. "On one hand... it'll make my family happy... " And there you have it. I'm pretty sure your family would be delighted to see you graduate, so you probably owe them that much.
  14. I don't really care, some flicks have the market to produce both, some don't. Just make sure its available in PAL, and Region 2 for DVDs. Frankly I can't see a sufficient market (to enable a reasonably priced production run) in Europe for a DVD of say the Lost Prairie boogie, for example. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 15. I think Blewaway got it....fight fire with fire. Video him breaching NOTAMS and set the FAA to do their job. Case closed, DZO spared the legal hassles, nobody (that matters ) goes to jail, everyone keeps on jumping.. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 16. "I dunno about that. I've learned a lot from talking to some of the people here, even if I don't agree with them. There are some very smart people on this board. I've even learned a bit from the more extreme factions on both sides, although reading them is often more like watching a tennis match than a discussion." Agreed with all this, I like seeing myself as others see me.... I'm all for civilised debate, its how we form our opinions. What has pissed me off recently is a whole pile of nasty name calling and mud slinging, from both sides. I find this does not actually contribute to the debate. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 17. "Just wondering what some of the more experienced jumpers put the limit at, and why.2 Depends on the DZ, I know of a variety of DZs that exhibit unpredictable turbulence. At the end of the day, its probably gusts, or turbulence, dirt devils etc that will induce the most drama. As a general rule of thumb, 25mph (27-30 mph gusts) is about my limit, but it largely depends on my need for air, my mood, my currency, local spotting accuracy, and the afore mentioned turbulence considerations. There's an old adage that goes..."Its better to be on the ground, wishing were in the air, than to be in the air, wishing you were on the ground." -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 18. "Is there an easy way to get video into Premiere from my VCR using my PC120 as an intermediary?" Not really. "Do I have to record to DV, then import, or is there a way I can grab the analog signal off the VCR without first recording to DV? " Thats about it, unless you have an analogue to DV convertor or 'bridge' like a dazzle or similar. Or an analogue card with decent capture resolution.... Pug the video into your cam, pop open a cool one and let them do their stuff. Whilst enjoying your cool one, use the opportunity to log the footage, and prepare your edit decision lists...Maybe even try out some diferent choonz to see how they flow together. You will of course suffer 'generation loss' from the VCR to the cam, but that's inevitable. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 21. Gotta admit I'm a windoze man, but then again NacPCfeegle just doesn't sound right.
  22. Och, for heavens sake, you should know better than to give me choice... I'll take whatever I can get my hands on. definitely a case of....Its all good!.
  23. RSL's....good or bad? What type of container is the best? Best beer in the world? Greatest musician ever born?
