  1. Version 2 of the firmware actually includes a pre take off flight safety brief for DZs operating planes without in flight attendants..... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 2. "For example - you can play TrackTris (Tetris) on your ProTrack or activate voice warning before your Cypres will fire." Timely! Kewel stuff..... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 3. Woof woof dawgs. A few questions. Does this setup need to be portable? How much digital pal/ntsc conversions do you envisage doing? What cameras are you getting the original footage from? How much VHS footage are you pulling in and in what format (ntsc/pal)? How much money do you have to spare? Can someone drag this over to the camera forum please.? You'll get a better response over there... In essence, there are quick and cheap ways to do this, depending on the answers to the above questions.... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 4. I know it well, and it works like a charm. Your Aunty is one clever cookie.
  5. "I'll let my aunt know, she'll appreciate the comment since she developed and built the concept at Schiphol. " Well, she did a damn fine job in my opinion. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 6. "curious to how that'll go " It will be very easy, read up on the hints and tips on the forums. I've hauled my rig through Schiphol on domestic (European) and transatlantic flights. "How long will you be in Holland?" I'm not working over there anymore, I was there for most of 2001, working in Bad Bentheim which is just across the German border, not far from Enschede. I jumped at Rhine, Teuge, and Texel. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 7. "despite my honest face " Definitely explains the cavity searches Mike.... Your pulling my wire ain't ya? I travelled through Schiphol every two weeks a wee while back (pre and post 9/11)and it was a breeze..... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 8. I forgot to add that Schiphol has probably the best tax free shopping in the western hemisphere. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Thomas Jefferson

  10. Hey guys, firstly Malachi, thanks for the link. Richard, this is a typical administration type contract. Blow outs will be initially controlled by the likes of Boots and Coots. Any kill work willl probably be by Halliburton cementing, wirelining by Schlumberger etc.....This type of contract is won on a schedule of rates, sub contracting is inevitable. "Halliburton wouldn't speculate about the deal's monetary value" I'm not surprised, there is no defining scope until the facilities are safe and totally booby trap free, then an accurate damage assessment can be conducted. Fortunately it doesn't look that bad, so far, I'm busy enough as it is. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 12. Some very cool things about Amsterdam...Or so I'm told Virtually everyone speaks English, and they are more than pleased to help you out. The Dutch are cool people. Public transport. You can get trams or busses everywhere you want to go, and day passes for canal busses are worth it. Coffeeshops. Great coffee, food, beer, etc, plus all the cannabis you could wish for (you can only buy limited quantities at a time, but the limits are generous). You should only buy it where you feel comfortable, and never buy any drugs on the street. I'd recommend the Grasshopper for a first coffeeshop experience. Lisa mentioned the Bulldog, which is actually a chain of franchised coffeeshops/pubs, but equally reputable as the Grasshopper. Red light district. Its not as seedy as it sounds, and is actually a tourist attraction. Its reasonably safe, but I'd exercise the same caution as I would in any major city. Museums and art galleries are plentiful, exhibitions vary and are seasonal, if that floats your boat. Jumping? I'd try and take some time out from the bachanale, and either go to Teuge, or Texel. Both are cool dzs, and reachable via public transport, Teuge certainly is. I think Dragon2 who posts here jumps at Teuge. Apart from that buy a Rough Guide, or visit any of the plentiful tourist bureaus around the town. Have fun, its a cool place. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 13. "The idea of using Nuclear weapons in Iraq makes little sense to me. " Yup, I agree with Andyman...To add to his points... This makes little or no tactical, political, or moral sense. The threat of a nuke as a deterrent, I think, was more aimed at keeping the loony in his box until the 'liberation' force could assemble and begin their campaign. Also look at things from the enemy's viewpoint, he would damage his cause for international support if he were to use any chem/bio weapons now. Not that we should lower our guard. World opinion would turn against him, allying themselves with the coalition. Also consider that the upcoming street fighting is not the best environment to use an open territory weapon. I pray I'm right on this..... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. 22. "What ever you end up buying, get it calibrated every so often." Whuttt? All I do is check it against some of the other altis on the plane (including aircraft instruments) once a weekend during the climb, or if it gives me 'odd' readings at pull time I'll probably send it away. I've never had to recalibrate an alti in ten year's of jumping. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me.
