More importantly why are you not offering to share your whiskey!

You better inform the anthropologists and other social science departments about your break through discovery. I'm sure they will be interested to review your mountain of counter evidence to the idea that in most cases people actually do get along quite well.

Question for those who don't believe in a higher power.
ErricoMalatesta replied to gonzalesna's topic in Speakers Corner
Stupid scientists need to calm down and admit that they don't know all the answers and therefore the next most logical step is to just submit to the ridiculousness of Abrahamic religion. -
Isn't it strange how... ...you seemingly must psychologicaly hang on to the idea that your government invaded Iraq to overthrow a bad guy and you are a good guy. Are 'liberals' screaming bloody murder OR are things like undeniable empirical data about how you destroyed an entire country and killed people's children. Speaking of irony how about hanging Saddam for things he did while you were feeding him? Including gassing people. Because one is an international act and the 'supreme crime of aggression' and the other is a domestic dispute where both Georgia and Russia are shooting up a bunch of people.

All three circles give the same result should I wiggle the mouse with my eyes closed and see which one?

Sometimes invade other peoples land and kill their children... I can stop reading at this point.

1st Gitmo trial 5 1/2 yr. This is just fucked up
ErricoMalatesta replied to akarunway's topic in Speakers Corner
Let him serve his JUSTLY handed down sentence and let him go. Isn't that the American way? What would you do? Don't even bother answering. i already know YOUR answer. You don't know jack fuckin' shit about my answer. All I see you doing is assuming the worst about America, and bitching about some potential wrongdoing that hasn't even happened yet. Why don't you wait and see if he gets released on time when he's finished his sentence? Gosh, that would be reasonable. Yeah places like Guantanamo Bay exist for fair trials not torture. -
A lesson that should be taught in all schools
ErricoMalatesta replied to BillyVance's topic in Speakers Corner
Maybe you as an American should realise 1. The open admiration of the US towards fascism at the beginning of the 20th century. 2. The interaction between US business and European fascism 3. The US reinstating of both Nazis and Nazi collaborators to power after the war Which is not to rob the US WW2 veterans of their respect because the only people who do that are those who claim they saved the world from speaking German and hold them on a platform well above all the other men/women of the allied forces. -
Because Russia and the US operate in different ways, how is this a talking point or defence of history?? "Say what you will" ummm ok... all the examples you listed have about 7 million or more reasons for being worse than passing a pointless domestic level law upon yourself (Russia) that you are allowed to kill your ex pats when you (Russia) would do it anyway.

A lesson that should be taught in all schools
ErricoMalatesta replied to BillyVance's topic in Speakers Corner
Good lesson to be taught. Maybe not by a social studies teacher, but by a guidance counselor. You see, the true statement you posted is inferring something negative, but there's fact here. Yeah its positive that small amounts of people have all the power... I'm sure regular people can "motivate, move and create at such a grand scale" whatever that entails. *** It's not conspiracy theory that the goals that the elite have are self-serving. Especially because most people don't complain if the same qualities serve(even accidently) the masses positively, such as jobs, products, services. ect ect. People don't complain? I'm pretty sure most of the world actually do complain. -
Here is a list of people who believe this... 1. The large fundamentalist element of the US 2. Other people who are stupid Here is a list of people who don't believe this... 1. Anyone with a brain Pass on my regards.

Wait a second... you guys... nobody told me dropzone's speakers corner had a real world office

A lesson that should be taught in all schools
ErricoMalatesta replied to BillyVance's topic in Speakers Corner
The lesson that should be taught in all schools is that a qualified social studies teacher should know a lot fucking better than to think the US military has ever done anything to secure the freedom of the domestic population that wasn't incidental and didn't coincide with the goals of the elite. -
Peaceful muslims show their love for China
ErricoMalatesta replied to SkyPiggie's topic in Speakers Corner
Darwinian evolution cannot be used as the sole basis for the analysis of social constructs like the economic framework and various institutional hierarchies. The idea is ridiculous and not worth discussing further please get over the 'evolution' obsession you have or actually go read a book about it. I would suggest starting with what constitutes a 'fact' in the hard sciences because... ...from the other thread is your first mistake of likely many. -
Fixed it for ya! Edit to add: ??? Please forgive & Enlighten my 'ignorant ?' American, legally registered & owned firearms, possessing self if you would be so kind? I'm sure murder still happens with guns that are traceable to a piece of paper the government has but ok then, the illegal and unregistered gun problem/culture the US is stuck with. Quote My legally owning firearms increases world poverty...HOW? Where did I say 'world' poverty?

Peaceful muslims show their love for China
ErricoMalatesta replied to SkyPiggie's topic in Speakers Corner
You believe in evolution, correct? Yes. I'm just trying to understand how you can believe that life is about adapting (evolving) to survive and replicate and then complain that a group that isn't adapting (evolving) is being taken over by a group that is adapting (evolving). I guess its because I have some understanding of evolution as an explanation of the biological sciences VS the institutions and relationships people construct with one another.... which is to say evolution has nothing to do with this conversation. So the thing they want everyone to see them do when the eyes of the world are finally on them for a moment is blowing up innocent people and hacking policement to death unprovoked. Hey, where do I send my check?! 1. No innocnet people were blown up 2. The presence of a paramilitary (not police) automatically rules out 'unprovoked' 3. Why are you trying to obtain the crown for 'stupidest new american on dropzone' -
Meanwhile outside of sarcastic America people are able to connect the the highly visible dots of too many weapons, too much poverty, too much alienation and outlandish levels of gun crime.

Peaceful muslims show their love for China
ErricoMalatesta replied to SkyPiggie's topic in Speakers Corner
Why? Yeah why? Why could someone possibly support a group of poor people who want autonomy over where and how they live their lives. No you are right 70(+) Chinese paramilitary forces are probably in that part of Western China because everyone there accepts the Chinese state as legitimate and there is no need for the Chinese to implement their monopoly on violence. You believe in evolution, correct? Yes. (If the follow up is some creationist-fundamentalist-american-bs about strong V weak please spare anyone with a brain from your juicy baited hook.) -
Peaceful muslims show their love for China
ErricoMalatesta replied to SkyPiggie's topic in Speakers Corner
On a funny note: if they were Tibetans, they would be considered freedom fighters by some. Being Uighur (whose demands are similar to the Tibetans and as legitimate one would argue), some will call them terrorists... -

Peaceful muslims as the topic title? What does this have to do with faith? Thankfully the person above has already pointed this out with the Tibet comparrison. What are paramilitary "police"? A paramilitary is a paramilitary. Good luck to the Uighur people. -
None of them are the worlds only empire and none of them have morons trying to explain that empires are forces of benevolent wonder. Oh, because the U.S. is the world's LAST empire, you want to act as though we're the ONLY empire that's ever BEEN. 1. China will be the next empire 2. Last? What is going to happen? Jesus's magical Armageddon? 3. Everything you have said the entire thread is completely wrong or bizarre so I don't need to pick apart the Japan/Middle East/History ignorance rants Is anyone else reading the "lulz" birdlike is throwing out here? If only we could all be so lucky that you would stop typing. How conveniently you ignore the not-so distant past in which England slaughtered Africans and Indians, or the Soviets slaughtered tens of millions of their own people (if you count STARVING THEM TO DEATH as "slaughter," which I DO). Yeah I should not ignore all of those things because they are currently shaping the future and are changeable phenomenon with my time machine... Nope wait... my mistake... what you just said made little to no sense. That's debatable, but you'd be debating at a disadvantage, to be sure. Do I sound uneducated or otherwise "dumb"? Well lets refer to the score card... You don't know anything about your own history. What happened in the 20th century. The critical dissent you would aptly apply to all other nation states you do not apply to your own country. Your arguments make no sense and you are full of absurdities A resounding yes to your question I'm afraid. I believe it was your comment on "Dr. Lecter," What is an "idea-based argument"? You mean like... a normal argument, thought up inside a human head with.... ideas... the things we construct everything with... As for facts there is a partial historical check list provided. Do you see any French jumpers on here defending French action in Algeria? Do you see any Russians on here defending Soviet aggression? Any of our Japanese or perhaps Japanese-American friends defending Japan's brutality in China? No, why is that? Hint: It's because all nation states do bad things and seeing as yours was in charge, and still is, for the last 100 or more years it did the most and the standards that you rightfully apply to all others you don't for yourself... I believe the gospels touch on what that is called.
-
None of them are the worlds only empire and none of them have morons trying to explain that empires are forces of benevolent wonder. Lots of states have done bad things throughout history but seeing as its 2008 the relevance of Roman atrocities are a lot less relevant than 20th century US atrocities. Yeah slaughtering millions of poor people decade in decade out is so helpful, why can't us stupid people of the world realise that? Man we are so stupid. I suspect the underlying cause of your amusement has something to do with being poorly educated.
-
Uh oh looks like I'm about to be sucked back into a game of 'American doesn't understand the 20th century' Lets bring out the (partial) list... Yeah the people of the world are stupid -- you win birdlike.
