  4. Sorry John, didn't make myself clear. The conclusion of the linked thread was that Incidents should require registration to browse i.e. can not be read by guest logins, and that requirement was applied. However it now appears that Guests are able to browse the Incidents forum, and I don't believe they should be able to as per the decision in the linked thread. Something has changed along the way, allowing them access and should be tightened up again. Clear? Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

  6. You don't have to register to look at dropzone.com, just to post to it. That's the way most forums are set up. You do for Bonfire, Speakers Corner and the Women's forum. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

  9. Sandy, pm me or PilotDave and we'll try and sort you out. For reference, I was unable to view the videos using Windows Media Player in the Windows 2008 server OS that I am using, but I did get them to play using VLC media player. 14. If you'd kept at it, you might have made a reasonable pilot I did my first jump in July 2001 on my 505th jump. Tim Porter trained and videoed me. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=882 I wore Chris Gauge's S.U.I.T. which was a bit on the tight side. I shan't name the dropzone as it was a little cloudy luckily my referencing of the sun and my flight plan was good. I like this video because the flailing during the first half makes me laugh but I really like the moment where you can see it click and the flight goes all quiet and smooth. I can still remember the opening on my original Sabre 190 Oh, the video uses the Indeo 5.1 codec. Vista users will need to open a command prompt elevated to administrator and type "regsvr32.dll ir50_32.dll" as it's not registered by default for some reason. 16. What most people are unaware of is that those hand warmers need oxygen to function and usually take anywhere from 15-20 mins to even warm up once activated on the ground. When taken to altitude, they generally just stop working. Everyone who was using them initially during the recent 4 month long high altitude testing we've been doing stopped using them because they just didn't do anything once at altitude. The reusable sealed hand warmers with a disc inside that is snapped to activate (and the warmer is boiled to reset) don't use oxygen, although they don't last as long as the oxygen fueled ones. 17. When you say everything out there supports AVCHD natively, you are talking about editing? How about playback? If a memory stick was plugged into a standard Vista installation say, would you be able to view the file? Thanks for the correction on the origins of AVCHD. 18. Didn't expect it would but thought I'd check. This thread made me wonder. So, if someone wanted to give footage to a non AVCHD equipped user, they'd have to record in SD MPEG2? Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live
  19. In the review you say, Can the camera downgrade AVHCD to MPEG2 when dubbing to make it accessible to those without AVHCD capable software? Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

  22. Hey NippLBoy, It's not a safety hazard so long as you take it off when it's time to deploy. But I know you are very safety conscious and need all the time to do your barrel roll and set up for your large rotation landing (although best to just keep it to a 360 on a big way) so maybe cut holes in the sweatshirt so that you can still get hold of your handles in an emergency. And maybe run some velcro up the back. Remember, there are no stupid questions in skydiving. So next time, don't keep your mouth shut, and then all doubt will be removed. Hope that helps!
