I don't know who peed in this guy's cheerios when he was at Lodi. Where were you hiding when I went there?

thread when you need one? Seriously, I love her threads. Always positive, never bitchy, a little goofy. My favorite thread was "time for a new purse." Come on Girlfriend, come up with a good one

QuoteCharacters aside, it's the doctors in some ER's (Ok, just one in particular) I would like to ban from existence. Was it a doctor you saw, or a Physician's assistant. Too often, Er's have only one doc, and several PA's. Most of the time you don't even know you aren't being seen by a physician. And, although the PA has to have supervision, the supervision does not mean the doctor actually has to see the patient, but is responsible for what the PA does. PA's have as less training than a 3rd year medical student, yet carry around prescription pads and take total "care" of patients. (rant, rant, rant) I, too, am disgusted by healthcare today.

Instead of taking the 80, take the 88 to the 395 and stop at SKYDIVE LAKE TAHOE. The view is spectacular! http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=sacramento,+ca&daddr=Minden,+nv+to:39.97712,-118.125+to:Boise,+Ada,+Idaho,+United+States+to:lost+prairie,+montana+to:spokane,+wa+to:portland,+oregon+to:eugene,+or+to:sacramento,+ca&mrcr=1,2&mrsp=2&sz=5&mra=dpe&sll=43.64142,-118.71389&sspn=19.796226,31.992187&ie=UTF8&ll=50.569283,-123.662109&spn=17.414343,31.992188&z=5&om=1 Here's what I would suggest. First, hit Minden for Skydive Lake Tahoe, then Boise, Idaho (3 dz's in the area), then Skydive Montana, in Missoula, then Lost Prairie. On the way home, hit Spokane, Portland, and EUgene areas, then head home. cool itinerary, can I join you!

My favorite book has always been The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.

I just sent them an e-mail, what do you know about this dropzone? I wouldn't mind checking it out. just went there this weekend. they have a pac and will fly it with just 5. the view of tahoe is fantastic. everyone is friendly. Aja, Wes and Billy are terrific. the winds shift very quickly, so make sure you check in about your landing pattern before you jump. there realy care about the jumpers and about safety. It's brand new, and has only been opened for alittle over a month. With Wes' vision, it's going to be a very successful DZ. Definately worth the trip!

QuoteWhat does your clothes closet look like? kind of ah, like my living room.

Interestingly, It's usually Joe that has his kids there!

0:5:0 Skydive Lake Tahoe rocks! What a great view and great friendly dz owners.

how do you owe beer when you didn't even jump?

The point is that she obviously has not spent much time in the authority/discipline department. It was only a six minute interview, her six minutes of fame to show what an angel the kid was. He blew it for her. If he were yours, i would suppose that you would be demanding me to prescribe him Ritalin This kid was not out of control.

would you fail a student for canopy control issues?
DFWAJG replied to skybytch's topic in Instructors
Only issue with that is it the exit altitude. Most new jumpers freak out a bit when they do their 5000 ft hop n pop after doing 10+ jumps (it looks awfully low if you're used to full altitude, and there's the issue of getting stable out the door). Now imagine doing it with 2 or 3 total jumps, all from the top... That could be a good option at a dz that does static line though. I remember thinking 5 grand was soooo low. -

I thought he was just squirmy. kids shove things away. a mom handed him over when he got too squirmy.

no, it's not wrong. it's called "setting limits." word gets out about how you practice and if you let things slide, you'll get taken advantage of. I have had to set limits with my inmates in the middle of the night. they hear a new doc is on call, so they all try to come in for ativan shots. If I give in in the beginning, I'm going to have many sleepless nights in the future.

is that the same one with the sausage toes?

No worries. As it turned out we had plenty of food for everyone who hung out. I just had to give you a small ration of shit. mmmm... tasty. I feel like walt now.

Are we looking at the same video?

ughhh!! I always hated those!

I've got a goal to reach. My freeflying is improving because I'm in the air more. And, when I go home to NY, soon, I want to perform well in the air. so, I'm looking at increasing the number of jumps for my experience and to break 300 at the ranch!
-
yeah, that was odd.

I"m not a coach, but I do have a suggestion. WHy not just have him do the canopy portion over again. throw him out at 4 grand, and have the student focus on canopy only. My freefall was always good, but my landings were terrible. I took it upon myself to just concentrate on piloting. thus, about jumps 30 through 50, most were hop & pops. I wouldn't go back into freefall until I got the landing down.
