Anyone up for jumping sunset? Neal says there are 5 aff students and likely, the pac will be flying close to sunset. Doc will run the barbecue!

yeah Peter! you are coming to San Fran! I'll be jumping skydance saturday and sunday. they are closed monday and tuesdays. call up skydive san fran (in cloverdale) for monday. it's a teeny cessna dz, but the people are super nice and the view is gorgeous! lets jump sunday and yell shawanga! i soooo miss that.

well, yes and no. I have over 200 jumps and I still get scared. But the less time between jumps, the less afraid I am. As far as "panic" is concerned, you'll have so much drilled into your head that when the time comes, it will all come back to you. On my level 4 (IAF), I hesitated out the door, and opened a little lower than I was supposed to open. Had no idea where I was and was flying away from the dz. Radio guy yells, "I have no idea where you are, find a big opened area and stay safe." PANIC!!!!!!! all I saw were trees, telephone wires and a river. huhuhuhuhuhuh. deep breath. and everything Linda had taught me, all came back. then I saw the big farmers field. Landed right in the middle of it..5 miles from the dz! First time I ever hitch-hiked. you'll do great. a little fear is a good thing. it keeps you from getting arrogant and will keep you doing the smart thing.

accoding to google directions, it's only about a 20 minute ride, with 8 miles on I-5 north. it shouldn't be too bad of a drive. the thing is, are there going to be planes up? while the dz is opened to sunset, there aren't always enough people to make the plane fly after work. so, I suggest, you make a post, just prior to the 25th, about who wants to do a sunset load, and if we can carry on the wednesday night barbecue tradition (Doc wants this to continue). then, maybe people will show up. I know I will! I love to jump during the middle of the week.

I have mixed feelings about the death penalty but I definitely don't think it should include physical torture. At worst, this is a case of unintentional psychological torture for someone who was unlucky enough to have bad veins. Walt I'm just guessing here, but he probably had those bad veins from the drugs he used to shoot up, which is why he was likely killing/robbing the gas station attendent. But then again, this is only a guess. -

:5:0 Jumped at two dz's this weekend. Would have been three, but Byron was winded out by the time I got there Friday, late afternoon. Did three jumps at Monteray Bay!

Anyone jump at the three dz's near Boise? Southwest has cheap tickets there and I've thought about having a getaway weekend jumping in the Northwest.
