  1. ^ l l l l l Blasphemy!!! Like I said.. Leave the Dead Cow Fixins to us.
  2. OK.. Then Here.. Go fix my watch and go be neutral or something. Oh and get me some Hot Coco while you are up. Leave the dead Cow Fixins to us colonials.
  3. The purpose of the Bacon is to help seal in the juices of the Filet. I like a LEAN, Tender, Juicy Fliet.. as Opposed to a Dryed out Filet myself. the Bacon helps seal in the natural juices of the Filet and keep it from drying out as it cooks. Brittish cooking advise is right up with thier dental care advise.
  4. Hoenstly I would avoid Grilling it if you have not done much grilling. The earlier suggestion is very good. Pre-heat the Over to 475 degrees. I like to use a cast Iron skillet to sear (Seal) the filets. Take the Skilet and get it very hot (High Heat) on the stove top. Sear each side of the Filet for about 2 minutes. Wrap the filets with Bacon (Filet is very lean and does not have much in the way of natural Juices to keep it moist and tender) Place the Iron Skillet with the Filets into the Pre-heated oven for about 5 minutes depending on the thivkness of the steaks. Take out and let set for about 10 minutes before serving. Steak Sauces, Ketchup or such should never get with-in 20 feet of a good filet!!
  5. A good filet is a tough Cut to cook for some. It is much thicker than other cuts and should NEVER be cooked past medium and even to get it to medium with out ruining it, It is best to Butterfly it. If someone prefers their Steak cooked to Medium-Well or Well, A Filet is a very poor choice for them. Are you cooking it on the Grill or Broiling it?
  6. People should contact those that are up for election and vote for the ones they feel are most qualified to represent them. As much as I dislike what some of our Officials have been doing, I would much rather Vote FOR someone as opposed to AGAINST someone. The alternative is not always better. Wait to see who is running before deciding on whom to vote for.
  7. Just be careful changing the Batteries. I hate those 3:00am emergency phone calls from a Hottie saying.. "I Think I broke it".
  8. Yes. Yes they are. Jaye.. Best to go ahead and let Joe shoot this one now so that the rest get the warning. And.. BTW.. Be honest with your Daughter, Joe was only mostly joking.
  9. Also during the Event we will be Plaiting some trees on the DZ as a memorial to the friends we have lost over the past few months. Chinagirl is taking care of this and has been selling homemade food at the DZ to raise money for the Trees and Memorial Plaques. I believe she has chosen Apple Trees (A BIG Greeen Apple Tree for Lee and a Red Apple Tree For Beezy). Everyone come on out and enjoy the GOOD VIBES!!
  10. Agreed. It takes perspective. Those that have Insurance have no idea what Drug companies are actually charging for Perscriptions. They just pay thier Co-Pay and go on thier merry way. (Guilty here) Like I said, I beleive in paying my own way and try to play by the rules but learning what drug companies are REALLY charging for basic common perscritions was an eye opener.
  11. I must say that Just today, My perspective did change a good bit this matter. On the political Spectrum, I tend to stand a little to the right of Genghis Khan and genuinely despise government interfering with Capitalism if at all possible. But the drug companies are completely out of hand. I had been having stomach problems for about a week, Finally got to be pretty bad so I go to the doc. (Urgent care place, No appointment needed. Walk in and talking to a doc within 20 minutes.) He runs his test, Pokes, Prods, Schedules upper GI, ect.. Says I have an Ulcer and send me on my way with a Prescription in hand. $125 Office Visit. I only $15 thanks to Insurance but I dont think $125 is a bad price. Dont know yet what all the lab work will cost but I dont think it will be horrible either. I have pretty good insurance.. So I thought. Go to the drug store with Script in hand. Nothing big, Just some Prilosec. The pain isnt horrible but very irritating and steadily getting worse. Looking forward to a little relief. The Pharmacy informs me that "THIS Drug" requires prior authorization. WTF?? How about a Generic I ask. No dice. OK.. How long to get Authorization.. 3 to 5 working days I am told, Working days that is so hopefully within a week I can get my script filled. The thought of another week of pain and nausea doesn’t appeal to me so I ask "How about I just pay for the thing and work it out with the Insurance later. No problem they tell me. That will $187.50!! For a few pills. VERY Common Pills. ABSURD!! Price Gouging at its worst. The pharmacist say just buy some Prilosec OTC instead for $10. It is pretty much the same just not as strong. I WANT the drug companies to make a profit. I want them to make a HUGE profit so that can continue to come up with new drugs.. But there has to be a Limit!! That kind of money for a very common drug is bordering on Criminal in my mind. Yep.. I took a couple steps to the left today. I dont mind paying my way... Sometimes enough is enough.
  12. Absolutely. Edit: How many jumps a Week/Month/Year do I need to do to be a REAL Skydiver(TM)? I have been doing about 3 to 5 Jumps a Month lately. How many post should I get for that?
  13. All excellent points and well made. I agree with all 3. It is too bad that you felt you had to create a sockpuppet to say those things.
  14. Will not be the first time that has happened and most likely not the last. There WILL be a Poker Tournament (Officially Sanctioned BY Skyfest and All!!). I will try to get Pokerstars to Sponsor it as they have done for several of the past Dublin Boogies. They are pretty good as sending Bonus Swag for the players. Also we will have to make sure that we keep it legal so it may end up a Charity Tournament.
  15. 1.5 (i dont jump enough to count as a real Skydiver. 3 to 5 jumps a month.. Oh wait.. I think I just used my only allowed post this this month. Never mind.)
  16. Heinlein once wrote that the critical Flaw in a Democracy was that sooner or Later the politicians figure out they can buy your votes with your own money! So true, So very true.
  17. I did call the kid aside later and explain to him exactly what "the Door Guy" did for a living... in alot of detail.
  18. I even brought in Hired Guns as I had been forewarned that she was bringing a "Date". The Poor Date had not only meet me, But Clay and Hisgoofyness were hired as extra security for the night. The meeting went something like this: Eve: Dad, This is Brandon. Dad: Brandon, That is MY daughter. Put your hands on her and I break your arms, Got it? Brandon: yes sir. Eve: DAD!!!! Dad: Just being Honest Sweety. Now go on inside and enjoy your party. Had Clay working the front Door and Ben In the back of the room with me making regular patrols. It was fun watching the Kid flinch when ever I walked by. (Actually he was a very Polite and well mannered boy that I couldnt help but to like by the end of the night. I just couldnt let Him know that!!)
  19. Amen!! Actually remind me sometime to tell you about the "Date" my Daughter brought to her Sweet 16 Party. I almost felt sorry for the poor kid by the end of the party. Maybe by the time my daughter is 30 or so she will forgive me.
  20. And then turn MOST of the Law Schools into Medical Schools and Science and Engineering Schools. We still need a few lawyers. Maybe set a Cap on the total Number allowed to exist and then only allow new ones as the old ones die off.
  21. I actually agree with this.. Up until 18 years old or so. Just like education. Then it is time to go out and get a Job if you are physically and/or mentally able. If you are not physically or mentally able then we do have Medicare and medic aide programs that will cover the basics already. The system is Far from perfect and could absolutely use improvement.. But the idea that I should pay for others heathcare when they are perfectly capable of doing it themselves but choose not to doesn’t sit well. Those that choose not take care of themselves will find very little sympathy from me. Children and those that are not capable of taking care of themselves are totally different story. I have no problem helping to pay for them. Another major problem we have is Lawyers. Not just the one that live off malpractice suits (a tiny percentage) but Lawyers in general. We have a shortage of qualified people going into the medical profession. Most of brightest young minds are going into Law instead. Long Hours, Less Pay, Little gratitude.. Why Bother. Just become a lawyer and make more money. Even the ones that WANT go into the medical profession find that they cant because all the programs are over crowded already (especially in Nursing) yet Law Schools are everywhere. It is a very sad situation.
  22. 25 people so far that feel Former Jumpers should not post here and yet only one that is willing to say why they feel that way. I understand and respect her opinion (disagree with it, but respect it none the less). Anyone else that doesn’t feel former Jumpers should post here care to share their reasoning?
