  1. I think it would definitely be Girls. Make Up and Clothes for my daughter set me back a fortune. I don’t think a Boy would be anywhere near as expensive.
  2. Ohh, Ohh, I can answer this one. I just wrote the Check for my 13-Year-old Daughter’s Braces 3 weeks ago (Yes that would be right after Christmas, Can we guess who is going to be REALLLY scaling back their Boogie Schedule for a while...). Total Cost was $5K. Luckily the Ex had somewhat of a dental Plan so I only had fork over $1,800 to get started. If you really think Skydiving is expensive, try raising a Teenage Daughter. No mater now much money you make, it only costs about 20% more.

  8. Sounds allot what most men would like, especially if you let us out to go chase cars every once in a while. Ohhh and that Ball thing too. We like that Ball thing. Ohh and Chew Toys, Lots of Chew Toys!! And dont get upset if we need to Bark every once in a while too, Sometimes Barking makes us feel better.
  9. I think my Ex may have been a RealDoll. Silicone enhanced, Cold, Unresponsive. Yep that was her but I remember it costing me allot more than $6,000.
  10. Generally it takes at least Two People to play a "Game". I think you should always completely straight forward. If someone does not respond in kind, then they are not worth your time. "Rules" such only call twice or wait 3 days after you meet them to call or other is such bullshit. Do what you feel is right. It will either work or it won’t. Don’t second guess yourself, If you are not sure where you stand, ASK. If you don’t get a straight answer. Move on. Do not look at any relationship as always and forever or happily ever after. That is a fairy tale that does not exist. So many people try to hard to find the One Special person and are missing out on some great experiences along the way. As for the “stalker-ish, insecure, and crazy” worries, we all have to deal with those issues and insecurities. I know I generally try to avoid sending any female a PM because I am worried that she will get the wrong idea and think I am either hitting on them or stalking them (Whether I am or not ). If you really like someone, Make sure they Know how you feel (And NO!! nothing is obvious to men, You have to spell it out for us, in very simple small words). the keys to being attractive to the opposite (or same even) sex: Confident Secure Honest Once you have those things down, everything else generally falls into place.
  11. An Older Woman told me years ago that she had the secret to keeping men happy. She called it the Three F`s.. Feed em F*ck em and Let em Fight. She claimed that if you took care of these items, Men were easily managed and generally pleasant to be around. I think she may have had something there.
  12. We are talking about the possibility that the PC may not launch on a Cypress Fire. I have only seen ONE report of that happening. I agree that Once is too many (And so does Mirage Obviously or else they would not have released the SB). Nothing changes the fact that the old system worked for years and was the best known method of placing the cutter at the time. Once again I will mention that this was agreed on by Airtec, Mirage and Other Rig Manufacturers therefore it was not a Design FLAW, It was the best design based on the information available at that time. This is not about a Manufacturing Defect, This is about improving the reliability of YOUR Rig. The last thing I want to see is Manufacturers penalized for developing safer ways of doing anything. If they have to make Improvements Retroactive, You can bet that they will not be so anxious to release these improvements. I do agree with you here that it should be optional. Skydiving is all about Calculated Risk and Risk Management in my opinion. The new Cuter position reduces the chance that the PC will not launch on a Cypress Fire. I see that as an Improvement. There is still no guarantee that (a) the Cypress will fire at all, (b) that if it does, the PC will launch, (c) that if the PC does Launch, The reserve will open. All we can do is to do everything we possibly can to make sure that we reduce the possibility of any failure based on the information available to us at the time. I respect your opinion and hope you do not mind a low time jumper like me expressing a different point of view.
  13. If they used the WRONG Bolts, Then it is a Manufacturers Defect and should be covered. In Mirages case, there is no Manufacturing Defect. They simply found a better way to address a previously unknown potential problem. Mirage didn’t use the "Wrong Bolts" here. They used a system that was accepted by everyone involved as the best way to install the Cypress based on the knowledge that they had at that time. This method worked for years. They have now found an even better way. It is an Improvement as it reduces (nothing eliminates) the possibility that the Reserve Pilot chute could remain in the container on a Cypress fire. There is still no Guarantee that the new method is 100% reliable but is should be better than the old method.
  14. What Mistake?? What Repair?? Do you mean the modification of the Existing design that should make YOUR rig safer than it was before?? What baffles me is all the people saying that this is something that Mirage should pay for. It is Your Rig, You bought the existing design, now they have found an previously unknown potential problem and have released a way for YOU to make YOUR rig safer. The old method worked for years and Mirage was not the only one to use this method as it was accepted by Airtec, Mirage and other Rig Manufacturers as the best way to do it based on the information available at that time. They did not make a MISTAKE in the original design, the original design was based off their existing knowledge and worked in almost all scenarios, Now they have new knowledge of a previously unknown potential problem and they have decided to take action. The old Design was not 100% reliable. The new Design is not guaranteed to be 100% reliable either but should hopefully be a little better than the previous one. Nothing is 100% reliable in this sport. The only guarantee that you will ever have in Skydiving is that if jump out of a Plane, You will land. I don’t jump a Mirage so this does not effect me, But I know for Certain that if the manufacturer of my rig finds a safer and/or more reliable way to do something on my rig.. I can only hope they will let me know. I will be glad to pay for the improvement.
  15. It would seem to me that the existing design has worked for years, Now it has failed once and therefore the Manufacturer looked into the problem and is saying we found a better way to do this that improve the reliability or YOUR rig. In my (Humble and uneducated) this amounts to an improvement in reliability of the existing design. While I can see the argument that this was a Design Flaw, It is none the less the Design people Bought and used for years without issue. Nothing in this sport come with a 100% gurentee that it will work every time, But I am glad to see Manufacturers step up when there is a problem and find a Better/Safer way of doing something. If we insist that they pay for improving their own designs retroactivly, you can bet that there will not be as much willingness to release these Safety Bulletens in the future. Disclaimer: I am a sub 100 Jump Know Nothing discussing an Opinion with master rigger hoping to learn something.
  16. I think the cause of the problem should be considered when deciding who should pay. If it is a Manufacturers defect, then the manufacturer should pay. If it is an improvement to an existing design then the Owner should pay. When I bought my Rig, I knew it was a Brand new design and expected that there would be a few service bulletins along the way and I don’t mind paying for those. So far I have had 4 issues with my rig that have been addressed and I think each one should have been handled in a different manner. 1. was the Capewell test - I think that this came from a manufacturing problem then the Manufacturer should have paid. (My Rigger did not charge for this and did it as part of the initial inspection and assembly of the rig so it was a non-issue) 2. was an "Optional" service bulletin on the Leg straps to prevent slipping. This was Optional and I choose to do it, therefore it should be my cost. 3. was a problem with Reserve (done at 1st Repack). The problem was out of spec stabilizer trim (NOT Optional to Repair). This was a Manufacturing error in my opinion and should have been covered by the manufacturer. The repair cost was minimal so I didn’t even mention it to the manufacturer, Had the repair cost more, I would have expected the manufacturer to handle the repair. 4. was a problem with one of the hard housings slipping in the riser and having to be retacked on a rig that was only 120 days old. It seems that there are better designs out there for containing the Hard Housing in the risers but this is the design I bought so it is my responsibility to fix it if it fails. If a Mandatory Service Bulletin is an Improvement to the design of my Rig, I pay. If the Service Bulletin stems from a Manufacturing Defect, They should pay. As for the new Mirage Bulletin, It would seem to me that this results in a new safer design so the Owner should pay for it.
  17. That Dirty Brit either needs to Wipe his ass or invest in some FDS!!
  18. The Grand is Booked Solid that Weekend for some Silly Slot Tournament. Back to Ms. Blueskyserenity for your Accomidation needs. Who sleeps in a Casino anyway??
  19. We have a MUCH better shot at getting Comped at the Grand (and the Beau Rivage does not have a Poker Room).
  20. Maybe Han`s needs to start a new Advertising campaign, "Jump at the Farm and you will be Shacked up before you know it" or "Free Live-in Girl Friend with each Jump Ticket". Or maybe a Warning would be more appropriate.. .
  21. Shhhhh!!! Dude you are going to ruin the fun!! Didn’t you read this part.. I can see it now, 8 Skydivers hiding behind a Bush on side of the road where while we send MaryAnn (or any other hottie that was on the load) out to Creatively Flag down a Ride. Then trying to pack all us into some unsuspecting Wuffos car after they stop to help the poor damsel in distress.
  22. You offering Free Test Drives?? Gotta Check out the head room you know.
