  1. I didn't come in in half brakes, I didn't pull on the toggles at all until the very last second, so I was attempting to punch the toggles all the way down when I "landed", it's just that I had started my flare so late that the furthest(is this a word) the flare got was halfway. What really sucks is that I have to walk about 4 blocks to a job interview this afternoon. So it will be lots of fun hobbling around following someone as I meet all these different people. But maybe that will be good, I probably won't come off as overly confident.
  2. Ok, now is when I look to the more experienced skydivers for advice. First off, I finally got a few jumps in this weekend, which is good because it had been awhile. Anyway, up to this weekend I had done 17 jumps. So they still gave me a radio for 18, but said that they were only going to use it if I needed it. Jump, and set up went fine, but apparently I still need some fine tuning on when to flare, because I didn't. I had gotten my toggles down to half brakes by the time I crash landed. And since I wasn't expecting a hard landing until it was far to late, I didn't PLF. So my right leg absorbed most of the impact. After a few minutes I was able to get up and walk to the truck, and I did 2 more jumps afterwards. So here is my injury, my knee is sore and the top of my foot is really sore. I can walk on it, but it is more of a lurching hobble that a walk. I don't think I broke my foot, because my understanding is that you can't hardly move a broken foot with out having a lot of pain. What I am wondering is does this type of injury sound familiar to anyone (happen to you or someone you know), and if so what is you unprofessional medical diagnosis. I don't really want to go to a doctor about it, if it is probably just some hyperextended muscles, but I don't want to still be hobbling around 2 weeks from now, because I fractured some bone in my foot. On the positive side, I had all kinds of firsts this weekend: First injury First off-target landing First canopy flight with no radio First time to reach terminal (stupid S/L program) "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."
  3. Oh yea, today was a great day for skydiving here, well at least good enough to skydive, which is better than anything else as of late. Anyway, I spent the whole day at the DZ, ON THE GROUND. No other skydivers showed up. What a bunch of pussies. You would think that after a month's worth of crappy cold weather, there would be a bunch of people itching to get in the air. Guess not. Anyway, going back tomorrow and hopefully someone will show up. Geez, the only thing more annoying that bad weather that makes it so you can't jump is, when you can't jump because noone shows up to fill out a load. "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."
  4. Well i could definately tell you if I could hear it. But I don't own that video, so no idea. "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."
  5. How about this: stitched on the left chest area it says: login: dropzone.com password: BOOBIES!! Seems appropriate enough, and anyone who sees this who is from DZ.com would have no doubt at all.
  6. whenever I get this, I just log in again and it works fine.... "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."
  7. That's pretty funny. What's funnier is you took the time to find all of those. Of course all you probably had to do was search for skydiving.
  8. Now why would someone say that? "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."
  9. Speaking of timeouts, I had a guy at my DZ try to sell me one of the older 1 warning time outs for $75. He insisted he was giving me a good deal, but I didn't go for it. It's interesting how some people try to take advantage of people who are new to the sport or who don't stay current with prices on equipment. Oh well, Caveat Emptor. If you aren't willing to do your research, you deserve to be had. "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."

    Friday funny

Are you asking because you are thinking about trying it, or are just curious about what others think? I think it is great. For one, you have to concentrate on giving and receiving, so that draws things out longer. Plus there is a whole lot more interplay that just one way or the other. I love it when a female brings this type of thing up. And it is even funnier that this is the type of thing that those women's magazines spend 50% or more of their time on. "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."
  12. Yea, I have to agree with Phree on this one. I have heard nothing but good things about that company. Ask skreamer about it. I just bought a protrack and can't wait for it to get here, and I haven't even bought a helmet yet. Maybe I can just staple it to my head or something. "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."
  13. I feel very uncomforable if forget to put my seatbelt on. And thus I rarely forget. I wasn't really raised to do it, but all my cars have had automatic seatbelts, and I have just gotten used to it. Now I don't feel right if I don't have one on. In a plane, I tend to take my seatbelt off a lot, though. "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."
  14. It does seem to load better, but you need to have it set up so that you can click on the mini-pics to get the full size version.
  15. So come on already, post the steps so we can see for ourselves... "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."
  16. Well, since I am in Indianapolis right now, I will just let you know when I might be in VA, and we can meet up at the DZ. Call it a Beer IOU.
  17. Woohoo!!! BEER!! BEER!!! Allghghlghgh. Beeeer.... "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."
  18. Didn't say I couldn't, just that that was a thing that he did on a regular basis. Like some sort of signature move or something. "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."
  19. just a guess, but self oral pleasure... I think am done posting to this thread, i am bringing up images I don't really care to imagine...
  20. Yea 280 seemed to be the going rate I found too, and if you are going to buy one anyway... "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."
  21. Did you mean, "Cock's ticking...."? "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."
  22. I am going to hold you to that beer. He could move his "tool" without using his hands, just muscle power. God knows how I know that. "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."
  23. Hey all, I just became the highest bidder on a brand new, still in the box, pro-track this afternoon on the auction part of DZ.com. Do you think I got a good deal? I got it for $210. Boy I sure do have expensive toys.
