I haven't worn anything over my eyes yet, and I have had 20 jumps. "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."

AND Judging by some of the spelling on this forum, that may itself be an issue for debate. "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."

He hasn't been around all day. I hope he didn't have a stroke mid-coitus with a ewe.

Well, here I go. I don't think your analogy is a very good analogy. When you make mp3's off of CD's those mp3's are no where near the quality that the CD's are. Whereas with a cable splice you are getting exactly the same thing, quality and all. The other problem I have with the "record companies" arguements against mp3s, is that they say you aren't supporting the artists when you have mp3's of their's. I think this is a faulty argument for a number of different reasons: 1.) The artist generally get a much smaller share from the sales of their albums than the record companies do. So what they say is that you aren't supporting the bands, what they mean is that you aren't giving them your money. 2.) There are many bands who voluntarily put there stuff out there on mp3. The bands like this, the fans like it, but record companies don't. 3.) Finally to say that you shouldn't be able to make mp3's because it takes away from record sales is stupid, because a lot of people, myself included, feel that CD's are far too overpriced and elect to only buy used CD's. Who get's the money for the used CD's? Not the artist, not the record companies, just the store that sold it. So if they are going to make mp3 distribution illegal because it detracts from "sales" then they should make used album sales illegal for the same reason. But no worries, there will always be teenagers whose tastes shift with the wind who will think it is a good deal to spend 18 bucks of their parents' money on the lastest album by some group that the record companies have a nice short leash on, and who no one will remember in a year. I do know people who say they never buy CD's anymore because they can get whatever they want on mp3, and I think that is wrong. I also have albums that I don't yet have CD's of, but if I have them for very long I end up liking them enough to buy the CD (when I find it in a used CD store somewhere). It's just an extra step in how I purchase music. It seems to work fairly well for me. I have very few CD's that I once liked and now don't.

That's what the girls say. The guys say, "They promised me they wouldn't show my face." "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."

OOOOO.... I feel a storm brewing on this one...

Yea you got that right. But I like NIN anyway, dammit! "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."

Now see, that is what the song seems to be about to me, a severe depression induced drug binge.
-
I hadn't thought about this one... Good song, but sort of depressing for a skydiving song though.

Actually the stills are from a different movie. That means there at least 2 of them out there.

Well, if I had it, it would be on VHS. Haven't been able to convince myself to invest in a DVD player yet. Because then I would have to start a whole new movie collections, replacing all my VHS movies with DVD ones, and I would rather spend that money on jumping or student loans(ewww). Check out the posts below. I don't have a clue other than what I have seen on videos. Never been in a plane with a tandem.

The internet is very useful research tool. Everyone was wondering what it was, so I just did some quick "research." It was easy.

This came up in happy hour last night. Apparently there is actually an "adult" movie that involves skydiving. It's called Gangbang Girl #16 Yea, you wouldn't know it by the title, but apparently the "lucky girl" skydives and then parachutes into the warm embrace of a chain gang. Now everyone knows, rent it if you dare. "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."

Ok, let's clear something up. This thread has mentioned 2 different skydivers who have jumped with their dogs. The one in the picture is the guy who the general consensus thinks is a dick, and whose dog seems less than thrilled to be going out of a plane with his master. The other is a guy(his name slips my mind right now) who went in, but who used to jump with his dog "Pud," and who everyone who knew him said he was an awesome guy. Maybe everyone understood this about this thread but it looked like the distinction had gotten lost, and it would be dumb to be trying to respond to posts, thinking they were all about the same person.

So did he want to make a sandwich or what? "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."

I just got a protrack, can't wait to use it. And yea, those motherf***ers are loud without wind to mute the noise. In fact I set off the sounds in my apartment, and it is way louder than my smoke detector is.
-
Oh, the anti-blushing pills thing is pretty funny, but it doesn't really lose any meaning if you don't here the sound at all.
-
Damn, that is funny. I don't have sound on my computer, but I am guessing that you don't really need it. Good stuff. heheh "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."

Actually, if we are being picky, "America" refers to pretty much the whole western hemisphere, North and South America, so once again, Canada would still be included in that, no matter how much we might not want it to be. "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."

Interesting. I have a cypres, but I don't think of it as giving me the option of deploying or letting the "magic cypres" do it. I see it more as an annoyance that I don't really want to deal with, thus I pay enough attention to get open well above where it might go off. So, yea, it is a safety device, but I see it more as a dissuasion for going that low in the first place. My understanding is that it is sort of embarassing to have a cypres fire, so if you have a cypres, you are naturally going to think about pulling just a bit higher to avoid that whole situation, and in the process you are being a safer skydiver by having the cypres but not relying on the cypres. "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."

Well, last time I looked at a map, Canada was part of America... "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."

Another skydiver was mentioned earlier in this thread, who had a dog that he took named Pud. My understanding is that his dog did like doing the jumps. Some dogs like it some don't. If it is easy to see that the dog is not enjoying itself, then yea, it seems wrong to take it up (and down). The door swings both ways. All dogs aren't the same. "Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I."
