I might do that at some point when I have the means to do so. However, I did not ask what rig I should buy to avoid these problems, I asked what could be done with the rig I have now to mitigate or eliminate these issues. Turn off the world before you come to bed.

Don't you mean (Girls Gone Wild in the Packing Area/Parking Lot)? Turn off the world before you come to bed.

I'm sort of resurrecting this thread, because I recently had an interesting experience with my Vector2 as a result of sitflying. As far as bridle protection goes, I always tuck the bridle up nice and tight and there is velcro from where it comes from the closing flap to the BOC, and the BOC is very tight spandex. The main closing flap is very tight when closed. I have never had a problem with any of these things. What happened this weekend, was that I did my first really stable sit. Under canopy something sort of brushed against the back of my neck. When I turned to see what it was I saw my riser cover and just figured that was what it was. Well when I was packing and stowing my risers, I noticed that my reserve flap was open. So I think that because I had finally gotten a smooth consistent relatively straight down sit going, the opening at the bottom of the reserve flap had caught enough air to pull it open. Everything was still secure under it, but had I had a poor landing, that might have been enought to pop my reserve, given the right (or wrong) conditions. I am pretty familiar with my gear and think I know what it's "freefly vulnerabilities" are: Have to keep an eye on the condition of the riser covers' velcro, but I was under the impression that my reserve flap was tight enough that it wasn't coming open. But when the only way for airflow to get under it is from the bottom, flying in a sit or stand makes this a possibility and probably even an eventuality. What I'd like to know is what are some things that others have done to keep the reserve flap from coming open in these situations? Here are some things I have heard about that people have suggested before. What are the pros and cons with these as well?: 1. When the reserve is being repacked have the rigger put a rubber band on the reserve closing flap so that it will be there to tuck the bottom of the pin flap into, keeping it snug against the rig. 2. Add velcro to this area. Any other ideas? Turn off the world before you come to bed.

I was feeling sorry for your injury situation, until you said this. Turn off the world before you come to bed.

1 really poorly thought out exit that resulted in damage to my rig:9:7 I spent the weekend at SGC with phree, Jessica, sunshine, cajun, and wildblue and had a great time dispite damaging my main pin cover flap. Basically how it happened was that we were going to do a 3 way tube exit, and I was sitting down with my feet off the CASA ramp, and the other two were above me holding the appropriate person's ankles, and the guy holding my ankles was just going to roll out and we were supposed to roll out after him. In retrospect the only problem with this arrangement was that since I was already laying on the ramp there was no physical possibility that I was going to be able to "roll" with the formation. So because of this, the exit funnelled, and my rig got some abrasive damage from the grip tape that is on the ramp as I was dragged off of it. The damage wasn't super-serious, but I have to get a new tuck flap for my main pin cover now. All because we didn't think through how the exit would work carefully enough. *sigh* 1. First raftdive: I was in the back of the raft in the dive that phree watches deteriorate from the ground. The exit almost funnelled and the raft was never completely stable.... 2. First horny gorilla dive 3. First tracking contest (I didn't lose

Yep, and both her children are Messiahs.

Yea, fuck it! Go to Eloy. You'll have more fun there anyway. That'll save me having to actually go to SGC too. I'm sure I can find better uses for the money anyway. Something smells in here... Turn off the world before you come to bed.

This is just conjecture, but this might have a lot to do with it. I would think that microline has the ability to "cut" through bands much more efficiently than the nice thick soft Dacron lines that I have on my rig. However, that being said, a lot of the people I jump with at my DZ use Skybandz (and really like them) that have Spectra and Microline lines. So who knows. Maybe it was just a fluke, maybe not.

You'll have to scratch Vallerina from that list. She is defecting and going to Eloy this weekend. Awww. I got my very own edit. That means a lot coming from the Editrix. Turn off the world before you come to bed.

Yea, and don't they eat dogs over there? Turn off the world before you come to bed.

Wow, that is unusual. I now have 83 jumps, 70 of which are on Skybandz. I have had to replace one locking stow once and just replaced the other one for the second time yesterday. All the other stows (which I use the smaller Skybandz on) have only been replaced once so far and probably still have 5 - 10 jumps left in the oldest ones. Did you stretch them real good before putting them on the bag? What kind of lines do you have? I guess these things might make a difference in how quick the bands break. Did they break on opening or while packing? I'd agree with Kelly though, Skybandz should last a bit longer than they did for you.

Last Wednesday, a girl who was on the sunset load with me had a baglock, and it did stand her up. She said she felt really out of control when she cut it away because she started tipping sideways and down and wasn't stable at all. Course I'm sure that she weights less that 150 lbs., so that probably has something to do with it as well. Turn off the world before you come to bed.

Hey there! Turn off the world before you come to bed.

Yep, she's abandoning all us midwesterners who were looking forward to jumping with her this weekend. Don't worry Val, someone will funnel a jump in your honor. Turn off the world before you come to bed.

Numbers and superstition have no more importance than a person assigns to them.... I do, as long as someone isn't on the ladder, cause that is just dangerous for the person on the ladder. I've also purposely shattered mirrors for art projects, and we had a completely black cat as a pet when I was in high school.
-
Sounds about right... Looks like it is pretty easy to see a group of midwesterners forming. I've met: Sunshine, Cajun, Phreezone, Wildblue, skymedic, andyman, fallinwoman, canopycudler, jabeln79, billo, fallingilweenie, fallingmarc, jjohnson, vallerina, and Slowfaller I know people who don't post and have probably met some that do and just didn't realize that they were DZ.commers too, but that's all I can think of right now. I also will be meeting, Spy38W and Jessica this weekend. Turn off the world before you come to bed.

I don't know about you, but I kinda like my BOC. You jumping a ripcord system? Turn off the world before you come to bed.

Geez! I got nervous watching that girl. I'm sort of surprised that the TM was able to talk her into going.

1 big ass pink floyd poster expertly mounted on the wall above my bed:3 (wednesday. Got to jump with some cutie DZ.com girl, and helped search for a baglock cutaway that happened to a girl I was on sunset load with):0 Turn off the world before you come to bed.

It doesn't work. I've tried it. The further into the album you get the less often the "things" that are supposed to coincide do. You have to keep readjusting it to make it work, which means that it doesn't. Take any album and play it to a muted movie or tv show. If you look hard enough there will be "odd coincidences" If you want to see something bad enough, you will. Turn off the world before you come to bed.

This show is a rerun. She has a double mal and goes in. It was the season finaly last year. She ends up in a body cast and lives. *yawn*

*sigh* I too am stuck in an office for a dull job on Friday. I'm wearing tan dockers, a black leather belt, a white collared shirt with a tie, black socks, and shiny black shoes. I am also probably wearing a look of complete boredom.

Nice car. Of course I like owning a car that I don't owe a ton (or any at all) of money on.
