true....what i dont like about it is it doesnt go anywhere. if there is any wind, i land directly over where i line up on final
-
i was worried about traffic too, but last year it really wasn't a problem. I fly a skybarge (triathlon 160) so i was also really worried about bad spots, but there is soooo much open room to land, that it's not really a big problem. I followed what Marc, Anne and others were doing and started landing near the student area, which was pretty much wide open.

nice pic! i could also head to SDC. of course in early august is the convention, so i will most likely be there..... and for 35 sit jumps you are freakin STYLIN!!!

Well, if you find yourself in the Chicagoland area, I will be most willing to play. I usually inhabit the skies over CHicagoland Skyddiving in Hinckley, IL. My headdown docks are getting better, and while this summer is slow for me jump-wise because of money, it's not that hard to convince me to go to the dz for a jump or 3....

what about monty python english? i like that one the best.

nice pics!!! that sit looks nice and solid for headdowner to come and do a nice dock on your head!

if people go to Chicagoland, let me know! I'll play!!! (hopefully freeflying...)

well, we can always land in Champaign and ask FallingMarc to be waiting with lots and lots of beer.

how many classes of geek cards are there? i know i am a card carrying Simpsons geek.

one thing I don't get is if the One is so important to rebooting the matrix and eventually solving the anomaly problem, why does the system try and send agents and sentinels in the real world to fight him, instead of letting him get to the source easily? does destroying the anomaly also solve the problem?

i think sunshine needs to comment on this.

can you psychologically cut your lip? either way, it doesnt matter what is really possible. the important thing is the movie lays down rules for itself and sticks to them, which can believability to anything since it becomes plausible in the film's world.

barrel rolls to check airspace before pulling
FallingILweenie replied to andy2's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
i usually barrel roll right before i dump when freeflying with more than 2 or 3 other people, or in a big jump where people are all over the place (like a tracking dive). as far as the vector 2, i had one up until last fall that i freeflew in all the time, flying headdown, sitflying and everything else. i know people who told me i was crazy but i had the velcro replaced when necessary and the rig never gave me any real problems. of course, it just depends on the condition of the rig and your own personal comfort with it. -
Tracking / vertical speeds
FallingILweenie replied to SkydiveMonkey's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
my vertical speed is slower in a track because i usually fly on my head. -
i've heard all versions of that game are VERY buggy, so it just could be the fact the game is not cooperating....

there is physical damage--in the first matrix, when he gets beat up by smith, and when he misses the jump, he coughs up blood. as far as the whole bit about there beeing 6 zions, 6 neos, and the rest of it, i gathered that each neo is an anomaly that could potentially crash the entire system, killing all humans both plugged in and in zion, and therefore a lot of the machine race. to try and correct this, the machines "let" the one into the source each time so that they can learn to correct the anomaly a little bit at a time, until they get it right. then they rebuild zion and the matrix so that an new "one" can emerge (from the freedom fighters in zion) which in turn lets them learn more about the anomaly and thus get closer to correcting it. and this cycle would be repeated until they find the cure to the anomaly, thus eliminating the need for zion. that's what i gathered from the architect's speech, anyway.

i personally think T3 is going to blow. i mean, linda hamilton wouldnt do it, and what else is she going to do?

well, i just finished paying the rig off yesterday, but i went in more debt to do it, but i got to bring it home (it was at hinckley until i could pay it off). now i gotta get some money together so i can go play down there. i really wanted to go play with missy and the sugargliderz to improve on my freeflying, but it was not to be. tomas

i was discussing the movie with a friend and what i thought was lacking in the sequel that made the original so stylish and fun were the little details. for example in the first one, agents are feared and everyone has to run from them. Morpheus gets his ass handed to him by agent smith, and neo only is able to get the upper hand at the end. i know in the second one neo is able to kick everyone's ass, but trinity and morpheus hold their own quite well against "upgrades" which i think trivialized the agents' role in the whole thing. also it was missing the stylish touches such as in the first one the sequence where they all go into the matrix and it shows them on the chairs as it rotates around the room and eventually ends up with all of them in the matrix looking bad ass. something else i always liked about the first one was the urgency to get to the exits, and there was none of that in reloaded--even on the freeway, where it was supposedly difficult, they never show them getting to the exit, but instead take it as a given. i think that they tried a tad too hard to live up to the first one, and as a result overdid what was popular in the first one but left out the polish and small nuances that made watching the first movie such a complete experience.
