People that reply to an OP without first reading the entire thread. [rant] This is especially annoying when a new skydiver posts about something that would be dangerous. Before you know it, the thread gets a lot of replies ranging from 'you dumb fuck' to 'perhaps you shouldn't do that because X and Y'. When the OP subsequently has posted several bloody times that they have seen the error of their ways you STILL get these 'you dumb fuck'-replies, which are at that point even more contra-productive than ever. I used to be a research technician connected to the gastroenterology department of a hospital. What I've heard about coloscopy / endoscopy / colorectal examination from doctors has led me to believe it takes a special kind of person to become proficient at those examinations. Not only do they put a flexible tube up people's 'place where the sun don't shine' and wiggle it about and back and forth, but they also have an integrated fiber-optic camera to let them see what they're doing. Sometimes, if they have the patient's permission, they shoot video of the procedure for instructional purposes - which are subsequently shown at seminars all over the world.. it seems that it also takes a special kind of patient to give such permission.
