    Another suit

I agree 200%, very well said... Some people have no morals.... I hope FFE is fully aware of the support and love they have from others jumpers here in the time of their loss, even from those who never had the opportunity to know Marnie or jennifer. And as far as that scum sucker goes that started this lawsuit, Karma is a bitch!!!!
  3. So what you gonna do sue me or something, dont start on me not in the mood ! Okay, my turn.... REPOST!!!! thats ok.. Ive never seen it before.... OMG that was some super awsome flying!!! where is that at?
  4. WOW! Exactly what I was looking for! thanks!
  5. I am trying to find out how to go about getting prescription goggles that can withstand the stresses of skydiving. I have figured out that a lot of my doo doo bird landing issues have to do with not being able to see at a distance (I am very near sighted). I right now, I have clear "Overglass" goggles and they work great, but I would to find something along the lines of Gatorz that I can have my optomitrist put prescription lenses in. I dunno if this is even possible. Thanks!
  6. Really? Where? Never heard of it...
  7. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080520/od_nm/hamburger_dc NEW YORK (Reuters) - Its creators admit it is the ultimate in decadence: a $175 hamburger. ADVERTISEMENT The Wall Street Burger Shoppe just raised its price from $150 to assure its designation as the costliest burger in the city as determined by Pocket Change, an online newsletter about the most expensive things in New York. "Wall Street has good days and bad days. We wanted to have the everyday burger (for $4) ... and then something special if you really have a good day on Wall Street," said co-owner Heather Tierney. The burger, created by chef and co-owner Kevin O'Connell, seeks to justify its price with a Kobe beef patty, lots of black truffles, seared foie gras, aged Gruyere cheese, wild mushrooms and flecks of gold leaf on a brioche bun. The eatery sells 20 or 25 per month in the fine dining room upstairs versus hundreds of $4 burgers each day at the diner counter downstairs, Tierney said. Pocket Change previously designated the double truffle burger at Daniel Boulud's DB Bistro Moderne as the most expensive at $120, and the Burger Shoppe set out to top that. Boulud's creation -- available only during black truffle season from December to March -- rose to $150 this past season, so the Burger Shoppe raised its price on Monday to $175. "Our burger is not about the price," said Georgette Farkas, a Boulud spokeswoman. "If you are making something concerned only about the price, you are off in the wrong direction." Without truffles, Boulud's burger costs $32. It has a ground sirloin patty stuffed with red wine braised short ribs. O'Connell said the Burger Shoppe was "finding the ultimate expression of each one of the ingredients." "The concept was like a mushroom-bacon-Swiss cheese burger, which is my favorite sort of burger," he said. The burger comes with golden truffle mayonnaise, Belgian-style fries and a mixed greens and tomato salad. O'Connell pairs the dish with many fine wines, a lager or a toasted brown beer, or ginger ale. (Editing by John O'Callaghan)
  8. I have been in the sport for 5 years and still dont do a lot of jumping at boogies. Yes I am confident of my skills, and no my limits, however I am uneasy with being in the air with jumpers I am not famalier with. EX: there is a "wrench" on every load, and by a wrench I mean someone who will not follow the landing pattern for a paticular DZ. Its easy to know who these people are at your home DZ and it is easy to stay out of their way when you know who they are, but not so easy to do when you dont know. If I choose to jump at a boogie, it is early in the morning, while the majority of jumpers are still sleeping off hangovers from the night before.
  9. 3... my oldest who is almost 10 has just started going to the DZ with me..
  10. I took a 3 sec delay (1 1000, 2 1000, 3 1000) and I pulled, I didnt pack it this time, the girl who is at the head of the packing concession at Sebastian did, I truly believe she did everything right tho. A friend told me that maybe that as my main came out of my rig, that it caught some prop blast which caused it to spin... I dunno how possible that is. Also, right before this jump I had ran out to the landing area, rig and all to help assist an injured jumper who had a hard landing (Im an EMT) on the way back, a jumper in the van told me that my left brake toggle was exposed and he tucked it back in for me. I could try to analyze it all day and never know for sure. My boyfriend was on the jump with me and saw how it came out of my rig. It said my body position was perfect, so that is about the only thing I can rule out right now... My main is Triathalon 150, with 307 jumps on it. 7 from me, 300 from original owner. I did come away from this with a super confidence boost, however, I dont care to repeat it anytime soon. I dont like landing under my one and only available canopy, kinda wigs me out a bit....As to how it was packed, I haven't spent a great deal of time in the packing area in Sebastian, but from what I've seen everything is pro packed, only done differently on request and I didnt request... I hope I answered all of your questions... thanks for your interest and willingness to help me disect this so I can learn more from it!
  11. On a rig I had a while back I had one that said oh shit.... a lot jumpers have that, so its not unique, but it is fitting....

    Asshole

Doesn't the same apply to skydivers? Some of them maybe, but I know that I personally have fought and earned mine every step of the way. Skydiving is something I very much want to be a part of and every chance I get, I take steps to further educate myself, thus making me a safer skydiver....
  13. No more than the next poster. You'll see threads like these pop up from time to time in The Bonfire. Usually guaranteed to liven up the place when it gets boring. BUT there are a select few here who can always be counted on to liven things up.....

    Asshole

I have serious road rage and it scares me to no end. I get extremely angry anytime I am driving. I dunno how to stop this. It just seems like the amount of pure idiots on the roads these days have quadrupled in number... damn they will give a license to anyone I guess...
  15. Lyle Presse will be conducting a canopy course at Sebastian on June 28, 2008. I started taking the course last weekend, but jump 2 ended in a cutaway, so now Im going back on 6/28. He has slots available for 3 more jumpers. Cost is $100 plus jumps. Even the short bit of info I was able to take in was a huge help. Lyle is a great instructor and very easy to learn from, what he says makes sense! Contact Lyle at lyle@flexvision.com to register or inquire more about the class.
  16. I posted it in safety & training "just call me chop chop" Didnt really feel like it belonged in incidents since I walked away rattled but unscathed...
  17. :2:1 had a great weekend at Sebastian with my man, tried to finish a canopy course, but 2nd jump ended in a cutaway, which led to be beer being owed, as it was my first cutaway on my own gear!
  18. As I sit here in fairly bad muscle pain from my reserve snatching me around on opening this past Saturday, I just find it comical that the people I work with (I told one co-worker and it spread like wild fire), find it nessacery to come by my office and criticize me. Most have asked if this will stop me from jumping from "perfectly good airplanes" and my answer has been a consistant NO. In fact, b/c of the events on Saturday, Im now a much more confident jumper and cant wait to get back in the air...
  19. Well I just spoke to Sandy at Aerodyne and she told me they havent handled Pisa's stuff for about 2 years now. She said the company that bought what used to be Pisa is called Zodiac, but she did not know if they were in the sport parachute business. I did however talk to Sally at Paragone rigging and she said from what I described that the reserve sounds ok, but she will inspect it when she repacks it. She is not my normal rigger, (I use Dave in Seb, b/c that is my home DZ) but she is the closest one to where I live so I will be taking it out there tonight. She is a super awesome rigger and I know she will take care of it.
  20. Would either of you mind explaining this too me. My interpretation of my reserve could be way off, b/c I was very rattled. Ive been jumping for 5 years, but still have low jump numbers. I did what I thought I needed to make the canopy fly straight and land w/o further incident. I want to be as educated as possible. b/c in my mind that will make me a safer skydiver. Thanks a million!
  21. Im just trying to get some good info on why my Tempo reserve flew like ape poop on my reserve ride this weekend.... this was the first and only ride on this reserve.
