He was an engineer and the schematics to the Boeings where ALL over the place prior to the Boeing 727 being produced. I have no idea what his involvement was or why he had the schematics to the Boeings. He did act for 6 yrs as a consultant for Boeing to the Army. This he told and wrote to me...but, I am under the impression this was in the 50's and before the Boeing 727 was actually produced. Well, Guys it sound like you all have given her some sound advice about the fingerprint database ( which will only work if he committed other crimes since and/or sought employment that requried fingerprints)....after the database was put into place. Since I only have dial up - I couldn't isolate the pictures of her father...and /or was out of the room when they came up. Never learned to play this stuff back and have to watch it in segments. If anyone was able to isolate the photos - send them to me - I have an idea that might locate him if he is still alive. We would need his SS number - if she has it, but this is the part that is puzzling - the FBI would have checked to see if that number had ever been used since (right)? Therefore one would have to surmise he was able to get another SS# somehow or he is deceased. I only question dark Blue eyes so dark they could be considered Black or Dk. Brown. 44 yrs old when he disappeared - so if he didn't die - somewhere this man has a history. I noted that he disappeared in 1971 - remember Duane's other name and SS number happened in 1960 - so I guess they could still do that 11 yrs later. Hasn't the government put some FAIL SAFE plans into the system to stop this from happening? If not - why? Their story is rather heart breaking. I expect if a 1997 productin didn't get any results he may have been deceased in 1997. Ashame something like this couldn't have been done back in the 80's when there would been a better chance of a response. 1997 was just a little to late, but never say never. CCC's ended in 1942. Some of the camps took longer to close but then they became CPS's and other conservation group. Since the period for Duane Weber was 1944 to 1949 - the people I have spoke to seem to think he was with the Forestry division and that the CPS's also had groups of wayward young men and those this trying to get their bearings in life involved. Some of the CCC camps where used for this purpose after the disbandment of the CCC's - like a reform school - taking young men who seemed to stay in trouble and give them guidance and direction and to teach them a trade. I knew Duane had pointed out a log cabin on the Washougal - mention he had worked on it. Jerry said this cabin didn't exist, but one of the men who took these young men in - was a contractor and he did lots of log cabins in that area and other areas. Since I had so much ground to cover - I didn't go up on the Washougal to see if that Cabin was still there - nor did I make it to the Coffin or Coffee Road and the old Cemetary on that road. I had other priorities after I found the "hill" Jerry claimed didn't exist...and that there was a golf course and some fancy homes there now...not so that hill is still there and has a signal tower on it now. The power lines still run thru at that point and how I found it. ASK Bruce! I don't know what Jerry considers a fancy home, but those homes were not as nice as some in my own neighborhood...and I do not live in a ritzy neighborhood. There is a considerable cost difference between Florida and WA. I viewed some of the Real Estate books out there and was flabbergasted at the prices. A home like mine is around 400K plus in WA. but that same home in this area would go for about 179K...if I could even get that in this market. The repo next door goes to auction next wk. and that will absolutely kill the sales in our small neighborhood. I took a break and didn't work on Cooper today. The nearly 5K I spent on my venture to WA and OR is starting to show dividens - not monetarily, but in validation. This has been a very very busy day. I have been following up on information I acquired in one localilty. I am taking it day by day and locality by locality. Then you have to step back and say - well, I got it but what does it mean? This has been going on for about 7 hrs today. Tomorrow I will still be working the same places - and because it is the wk-end I doubt I will make much progress. I realize now there are places I should have gone to, but didn't. I just didn't have the money to spend 3 days or a wk going around and checking records at all of the mulitple places I had to visit. Could use the help of some of you jumpers on history, but until I learn more I cannot throw names out there and destory reputations. I have seen that done too many times in the thread. Now let's change colors for $$$'s. Galen Cook like others has worked hard to uncover the mystery of Who Cooper Really Was...but like yourself he has fallen short as have others over the last 38 yrs. He and I have been at this a lot longer than you have so excuse me if my defending him offends you. I felt you were another animal altogether - you did not enter this subject with the objective to find Who Cooper Really Was. Your motive was clearly to write a book and make money....and that made you a predator. In your defense since coming to this forum you have become a little more pliable in you attitude about KC....some predators can be tamed with time and patience. At least they learn to accept their circumstances when they are caged, but the instinct of the predator is hard to contain. I haven't decided exactly which of the predators I would compare you to - not that it matters. You do not sit in wait of your prey and if you had been at this for 14 yrs - you would have starved to death...yet, you hesitate. Perhaps you have acclimated yourself to captivity. No Need to explain RED: You did not spend enough time researching the crime, but instead focused on your suspect. Now you are making up for lost time - but, at the expense of others who have spent yrs and some their lively-hoods on finding Cooper or researching their subject. You have learned more about the actual crime in this thread than you could ever have learned reading every book and news article on Cooper in existence. JCW1966 has a personal meaning to me - WHY and how did you come up with JCW1966. Number one JCW is my initials. You can tell me this in a personal email so it is not public. I am sure it has no "covert" reason, but I just found it sort of unusual. 1966 is also very very significant.

A natural assumption: the chase planes were smaller and faster and that is why they did loops back and forth in the 727's path. Ever hear one of these small fast planes? They sure do not sound like a Boeing 727. Most who live near bases would know these sounds...they may not know what kind of plane it was or why it was flying where it was. I am serious is asking you guys for assistance on some of the research or advice on where to go. Need some geneological research on some names out of a small Wa town not to far from Arlington, OR. Need research on the Spillway Tavern - people promise to help but then they get busy with life. What about running pictures and asking for help in the local papers of these area - Does anyone think this will provide any answers? I find little to zero on the CCS in WA and OR. I know transports and larger planes from the smaller fast planes in my area. The area I am talking about is very very close to the route the FBI proclaimed early on - Lake Merwin but East of there. The plane may have been higher north of this one area - but around the Heisson area - it has been claimed the darn thing was lower. There was more than ONE report and these people where just dismissed. One said it was just as dark asended on them - why he could see the plane. The other couple whose husband had died and she is hospitalized with a stroke had TOLD the same story and they lived close to this other man.... The other two women live further north and why I dismissed this yrs ago, but now when YOU go out there and SEE the terrain and DRIVE the areas - the picture is EASIER to SEE. They did not say what kind of plane it was - but it was a large plane and NOT a small chase plane. Now someone tell me how quickly did they get other aircraft in the air that night the size of a 727 and was the 727 that was behind the hijacked plane - what was it's altittude and what course was it flying. Had it been orderd to fly lower - probably not - because the Skyjacked plane was way ahead of it. What other aircraft was in the air that night at that time of that size? Everyone of them made the same statement. They thought it was an aircraft in trouble and it was flying low. The 2 women to the north did NOT see the plane, but heard it...therefore it might have been higher there, but did the plane drop its altittude right after it crossed the Merwin area and did it veer toward after the Easterly portion of the lake. There was more than ONE report of the siting of the plane visually in the Heisson area. One individual vividly describes being able to see the image of the plane - thru the clouds. When he was talking to me - I tried to compare what he was saying to what the guys do around here with the transports. The kill the engine to almost stall and then have to pull out...it is part of the training. They have dropped so low over my house I thought they were going to hit it (I am the highest point in my area). I made a complaint about this being done over a populated area. We have lots of Woods North of us they can teach this. I have a feeling this is about the time the crew felt the change of pressure and the bump that followed. In hilly country can you actually tell how far you are over hills and valleys...to maintain a specific altitude you would be going up and down and up and down. Did the chase planes fly under the 727? If so - it would have been very dangerous for a chase plane to fly at that low of an altitude?????? I am only repeating what I have heard - I know nothing about any of this. BOO BOO. Anne Faass was not in the room when Duane made his confession. She was there the next day to see him when he was rambling about putting money in a bucket and couldn't find the bucket. She asked what he was talking about and I told her I didn't have a clue. I did relate to her some of what he had said the prior day - but nothing specific. Just that I didn't understand what he was taking about. By the time she saw him - they had him on morphine for almost 20 hours. Just getting the spelling of Anne's name correct - tells me this person has some connections. Most people mispell Anne's last name. I have NO idea who the woman is and have never heard of the book....but, there was a picture in the book that I had never seen. One of a smiling Tina. So much is happening so fast right now...I just don't even know which way to turn. We have made a turn. A turn I hope for the better and for resolutions. Three individuals have stepped forward - 2 of them today. My head is spinning. By the WAY, Mr. Blevins - what I heard about the DNA on KC came from a second party and one that knows what is going on. This conversation was a recent conversation. The subject of the DNA on Kenny was addressed very directly in a long conversation with a FBI agent. Sure this person could have been yanking my chain, but I don't think so. The FBI does a lot of thing they do not tell the peons such as you or myself. I have a picture I need to find and scan - I believe this will be an eye opener. Somethings I have been told and things I have seen in the last few days - are beyond believable, but they are actual happenings and things going on the background NONE of us have been aware of. Sluggo - I think you may know about some of this. That book did not just come out of the blue and the picture of TINA in it with her smiling and her eyes squinted. As a relative and a relative who submitted the DNA - he can receive that report by request. I do agree in regards to the DNA sample not being reliable and have made a public statement regarding this - and the FBI has refuted the statement "excusing" Weber to another source. They retracted this DNA comp in a conversation with a certain party...but like the DAN COOPER Comic they will never make a public apology. Do your investigation - YOU go sit down and TALK to the FBI yourself and hear 1st hand what he has to say. Farflung: I seldom reply to your posts but I have to say myself that when it come to Cooper - you hit the nail on the head. Only 2 things surprise me anymore - the things people invent and those that buy them! STILL curious if anyone ever heard the RUMOR I heard in WA while I was out there about the CHECKERED PANTS being FOUND in AMBOY area. When did that story start and how? If this truely occured - when did it occur? This one needs Snowmman! Right now I am acclimating myself to being home and getting things done that need to be done. In a couple of days I will be trying to organize and sort out my maps and make sense of my hectic trip to Cooper Country. Then there are things that need to be researched. I have some geneological questions - that go far beyond my realm of investigating. I am able to trace to Duane's grand parents - but have been unable to locate their relatives such as the brothers and sisters of those grandparents...if anyone has this capabilitity please help me. The woman who has been helping me previously has been ill and may no longer have access to the archived geneologies. I know what I am looking for because of remarks made by Duane and the family. Duane was aided by cousins in the lower WA and upper OR area when he was sentenced to McNeil. I knew there was intervention by family and family friends - even the FBI stated Duane only PASSED thru McNeil. His ID at the time of conviction stated he was born in 1920 and not 1924 - so they actually sentenced a juvenile to a predatory Federal Penitentary. I was told a story by both the sister and the brother and what I found bears out - but, I have to prove it. We all know the FBI has washed their hands of this. Also I have archivist looking for pictures made at the SpillWay Tavern in The Dalles of a young man who washed dishes there. In fact I am going to run a picture of Duane as a young man in The Dalles and The Hood and Goldendale (haven't found out the cost of this yet). The article WILL not mention anything about Cooper just as my approach to people in the communities did NOT say any thing other than I was looking for the Past of this Boy or Man from 1945 to 1949. In The Dalles - I had a very hard time meeting with a historian and after 3 trys - I gave up. In other words I went to other locations and then back to The Dalles for this purpose - and that was costing me time and money. Perhaps the local paper will be willing to run an ad with a picture - but, it has to have exposure and not on the back pages...at least it will be cheaper than another trip. I did meet two very helpful gentlemen in that area - but, the museum was closed and the court house was preparing for an election. I guess it was my timing, although I did not have that problem in Hood River or Goldendale or Biggs or Rufus or Cames or Battleground or St. Helens, OR. I was disappointed with my limited contacts in The Dalles, but I will over come that one. If you can't get in the front door - go in the back door and that doesn't work dig your way in from below. Until this afternoon I was still hurting and feeling really anxious from my trip....there is so much to do and so much more I need to find. As I sort thru these things I will post about them - ONE at a time and hope there are others out there with resources I do not have access to. If I have to publically expose Duane's past and my search for answers I will do so - as I DO NOT EXPECT the FBI to lift a finger. Any of this that can be done by private EMAIL I will appreciate because at this time I don't need for what I have to be trashed with gossip or something like the CHECKERED PANTS story.
