Mark: Jo Weber did NOT go to the press. 1.She contacted the FBI 1 yr and two months after her husband died. He died in March of 1995 and she which is me did NOT know who DAN COOOPER was. Then in May of 1996 I learned who DAN COOOOper was and called the FBI. I did NOT go public until 2000 and that was only because the FBI provided me with FALSE information that proved to me they had NOT investigated Duane L. Weber and John C. Collins. 2. The FBI definitely thought Duane was a viable suspect or they would not have come to my home. I didn't go to the FBI - they came to me. In 1998 they said there was no match in the prints - but as I tried to explain if the prints they used for Duane L. Weber where reliable - how and why did the have John C. Collins encarcerated in Jefferson MO and not know he was Duane L. Weber until after they released him. The chased him all the way to CO in 1968 and he fled to N.O., but the FEDS obviously had what they wanted - because Duane was NOT hiding - he was living and working as Duane L. Weber and as far as I know - the authorities were NOT interested in this man after that. Why? Old Con getting Old as someone said in the thread - but, there is MORE to it than that. 3. I found lots of things that indicated the FBI just brushed over Duane - but, WHY? Why did the agent give me FALSE information when I called him in 2000? 4. I and a journalist did extensive research regarding Duane L. Weber and John C. Collins and we always hit WALLs we could NOT scale. WHY? 5. Because of my claim per the things Duane told me - it appeared Duane was some kind of ghost and the FBI was NOT going to go there. They wanted to bury him and have him forgotten, yet there WAS MORE pointing toward Weber being Cooper than the other subjects. 6. The FBI did interview a handful of people who knew Duane and who he worked with...but they did NOT interview the people that counted. Ray Griffin and Bill T and Tommy Gunn....WHY? Because these people knew Duane Weber as John C. Collins and as Duane Weber. 7. Duane actually confessed to being Cooper. 8. Duane knew the area and the FBI has never explained HOW or when. The FBI told me that Duane was NOT in McNeil and I was holding in MY HANDS the McNeil record! This is why I tell individuals to read back about Weber in the thread - because I am a scatter brain and I never remember to tell the important things...and my story has never changed. It is just scrambled, because I am NOT a writer and I speak only from my memory - I am unable to put 17 yrs of marriage and 15 yrs of research into a few words and my ability to continue this will soon be gone. I did NOT get on a plane and go to WA because I could not afford to do so in those early yrs and I had to work to make living and to keep my home. I was also in a major accident in 2000 - 2 wks after I went public. I have not been out here writing a book and doing a bunch of interviews. I did finally get to WA in Oct of 2010 and stayed for 15 days and did NOT contact the FBI until the day I was leaving and that was the Portland Office because I was fed up with the Seattle Office. I feel the files on the Night Clerk might be traced in Portland - even if they packed up their files and sent them to Seattle as I was told. The Night Clerk was interviewed by Portland authorities. Duane had KNOWN contacts with certain organizations. The insurance company someone question about the Air Traffic Controlers and government supplement insurance. THE FBI if they contacted the man who was still alive never told me anything. How could Duane have loaned the boss of that company 5K in 1972 or 1973. Why would Weber have Miami Contacts with Mafia there. Who was Ray G. Who was Tommy Gunn who knew Duane as John Collins and who was Tony Wong - I know that one and Tony knew Duane as both identities. The background of Tony and Tommy would have answered ALL of the questions about John C. Collins aka Duane L. Weber 1962 to 1968. Yet the FBI did NOT do this - WHY? Wong and Gunn are deceased. I do not know about the other 2. I am fed up with the whole thing and if you don't like my Blue and Red remarks so be it. I am not heard and have NOT been heard by the FBI. They turn a deaf ear to me - but, if you read the things in this thread I have written you will know I found a lot of them and some of them with the help of others. Duane knew Knew the men in this picture and he showed me a picture in a book with a slightly different position - but the same guys and the same truck, yet the FBI did NOT even look at this. Duane's Ghost haunts the FBI and they do NOT want him to continue to be presented. This thread has BEEN the only way I could present what I and others have found. All I can do is hope that someone reads the posts and decides to look at this one more time. I have time lines a brilliant young man did - they are his work and I have not exposed them nor his identity. He is trying to get enough together so the FBI will have to look at Weber one more time. I asked the FBI to check about a safety deposit box Duane opened in 1980 right after the money was found - but Agent Carr would NOT do this and said it could not be done. Duane took me this area in 1980 and I sat in the car. In 1990 after he started diaylysis he went back, but he needed current ID for John Collins and he got that ID the day before the Hwy Patrol and other came in on Duane for trying to obtain a drivers license under another name in 1990. What they did not know and still do NOT know is he actually obtained that license in the next county the day before they came into the shop. I have that license and the reciept and it is NOT a forgery. The FBI agent who came to my home that one time did NOT GET this because I did NOT get it. I only discovered this myself this last yr. I found the reciept of the license and this time I really looked at it. The FBI did not in 1997 in the things they viewed and took and made copies of. How and Why did I discover this. This brilliant young man asked me if I could get Duane's hospital records - all of the records had been destroyed, but the had his admission dates and there was what we had been looking for. The exact date of his admission to the Pavilion after they cops picked him up with a loaded 38 in the shop for trying to obtain a drivers license under another name. Because he had just started Dialysis - the Dr.s and I were able to explain his strange actions away as his being disoriented by the procedure and then they put him in the Pavillion for 72 hrs and a few wks later he makes a trip to the same location he took me to in 1980. In 1990 Duane had opened a shop and I think this shop may have been a front to explain the additional monies he was able to contribute to the household for the next 5 yrs. He knew when he went on the machine - he only had 5 yrs. That last Christmas he bought expensive things for everyone....he died in 1995 - 5 yrs after starting the machine. He planned this down to the wire. I know you guys do not understand what I am trying to tell you - no one does or they do NOT want to even consider it. This is the only place I have to tell this and this is the only thing I know to do. I have to get someone to really LISTEN and to REALLY investigate. I open the pic and expect to see the usual publicity promo pic, but here is this set of hairy ape arms with a kitten in them and the man is looking up with puppy dog eyes that say please take me home or I wanna go for a walk. I apoligize if this is offensive as I assure you it is NOT meant to be...this candid photo of a personallity in the thread was just so unexpected. Some of you have met each other and know what to expect. I had seen distance photos of Robert. but not upclose and candid. This is where the Texas and New Orleans stuff comes into play....something I to this day do not understand and the FBI has never talked to me about it. If an investigation of Duane Weber was actually done, the FBI MUST know about Duane's involvement with these individuals. This was the same trip in which he met up with the man I knew as Ed Huran who did NOT want his picture made and only agreed to do so when Duane told him it was for our private album. I met this man the first time in CO. I hesitate to go in this direction because of the reaction of others, but these things really happened. Duane was very secretive and did NOT talk about his past - except now I know he told me lots of things in the 3rd person - something that did NOT hit me until this thread exposed the 1957 St Peterburg arrest of Duane L. Weber while on parole from San Quentin. YEA, Duane Weber was NOT lying to the authorities when they questioned him about the list of names and addresses of residents in the area. His remark "Ask them - they know me". He did have family member who had a winter home in the area...and you may even find a musician by the name of Doc Severinson who played on the Johnny Carson - did indeed know Duane Weber. I do know know the name Doc knew Duane as because this was between 1945 and 1949 as best as I can guess since Doc made his first live performance on KODL in the late 1940's . I did know the exact date and have stated this in the thread. My attempts to get in touch with Doc have failed and this is one more link to Duane's past that will go down as a lost cause he is getting old and frail even though he still plays. Duane had told me that someone recorded him singing. Because of what I found about Doc being in The Dalles at KODL and his first live broadcast - I believe it was Doc. My memory is starting to fail me. Duane had always told me he knew Doc. Duane told me about a recording of his singing being done. Doc was in The Dalles when Duane was there. Duane did NOT use his real name in the The Dalles. Right now I do NOT remember the sequence in which I learned all of this. My finding out Doc recorded in The Dalles was in the last 2 or 3 yrs and why I have been trying to make contact with him. I want to know what the truth is. You DO realize how many time you have repeated this same post time after time with NO change in the verbage. Who are you trying to convince? Definitely not anyone on this thread unless you are repeating for the Newbies. All you are doing is trying to salvage your time spent and SELL your book. Again - if someone buys a house and they redo the kitchen, if there are other repairs needed - using the old formica is an excellent way to save money. I would have done the same thing. You have made NO photos of the SO CALLED Hinges that I remember. Every post I make is original and not a copy of an old post I made 2 or 3 or 6 yrs ago. When you do this it is obvious you do NOT have a point to get across. It is Blevins promoting his book and you are beginning to sound DESPERATE. Blevins, HOW many times do the people in this thread have to explain to you the logical reasoning behind the 'hiding place'. I was only accessible from an attic you had to enter from the outside. Makes sense it was where an old wood stove was vented out. HOW many discussions did we have about this "box" you claimed. Cooper may not have had a walkie talkie, but a transmitter so an accomplice could find HIM. They would have had pre-arranged places for the accomplice to head to - depending on the range of the transmitter. Maybe why Green Mt (in Washougal was so important to my story). I don't know this for a fact - just Duane's background and the stories he told me and what he showed me in WA in 1979. The witnesses never mentioned a walkie talkie and I do NOT believe they were all that small in 1971, but I do not really know. Because of Duane's involvent in communications - (walkie talkies, CB's and his association with the Tower (communications in airports) operators. (can't remember the correct name for these ground controls tower personnel at this moment - NOT feeling well at all right now). Looking at the picture and the location of the door knob and strike-plate, I believe the information on his driver's license is the actual height of K.C. I measured my front door and the doorknob is center at 33 1/2" (measuring from the threshold). I stood next to the strike plate and it lines up with the the center of my hip. I am 5'11". Looking at the picture it seems that the strike-plate on the door is well above the center of K.C.'s hip and almost in line with his elbows or waist. So I have come to the conclusion K.C. is 3-4 inches shorter than I am or I have very long legs (that last part was for Farflung ) Well that was fun. I am sure it also was a complete waste of time and energy as the doors in Washington will be of a different size. I am laughing a myself Vickie and you - I tried the same thing. Note he has on boots and he has already crossed the thresh hole. I am 5'6" used to be 5'7-1/2, but when you get old everything goes down hill. The Nurse tried to tell me I was under 5' 6" I told her like Hell - there was something wrong with her scales when I know she is right - but damn that is why my clothes swallow me lately. When you get older you tell them how tall you are and that is what they are supposed write down - RIGHT? Recentely I have been cracking the Dr.s and the nurses up when I go in - I just argue with them till they say Yes Mam you are 5'6 1/2 and then I insist they find that other inch they lost? Please do NOT classify me, Jo Weber with Knoss even though he claims Weber was Cooper. I have already stated many times I could never verify anything he said and why I do NOT want to be connected to the man. As for the things Duane Weber told me - some I was able to verify, but the FBI did NOT go back and speak with the individuals again and do it the right way. Most are now deceased and I could NOT MAKE the FBI go interview these people or assure them of their privacy and assure them they could not be prosecuted and that no one would shame or shun a relative. Duane came from a well to do upscale family and he was disowned by the family. They washed their hands of him. I tried to identify the people - but remember I worked within the confines of the FBI for almost 5 yrs. Not in the public media trying to convince them Duane was Cooper as you have done since the beginning and as Marla had done. When Duane introduced me to others they were as secretive as he was. Ed Huran - who didn't want his picture made until Duane assured him it was only for our personal album. The 3 individuals I met in CO. --- they do not seem to exist. After finding out about Jefferson I had to assume they had something to do with his criminal background,.but that has NOT proven out. Paperlegs - How and why was did he know Paperlegs and why was Duane so informed in regards to Intermountain Communications. Why did Duane go to Landon in 1979 or 1980 to see Paperlegs. I have already addressed your issues long long ago and do NOT need to repeat them - at least I wasn't out there trying to SELL a story.

Jo, This is really over the top. Duane sleep talks about cold feet and you see that as evidence that he participated in Fulton Hook retrievals. My wife mutters about cold feet once in a while. Ocean tells me it has a more likely connection to poor peripheral circulation than Herc Fulton Hook ops. BTW Fulton Hook hardware was all sewn nylon line and webbing and metal to metal fasteners. No hand tied knots. There were early problems with fastening the line securely to the C 130 but hand tied knots were not the problem. At one time I did research this because of something else Duane told me regarding the developement stage of the Hook and it was first tested in a desert. Now you guys can think what you like - but if the files are open on the developement of the Fulton Hook, you will find I am probably right. I have NO idea if knots had anything to do with the Hook, but for some reason I want to tie the 2 things together. It had something to do with a mistake made by someone. Remember Duane was fascinated by Planes - he could ID them from a distance. He wanted to be a pilot but he was far sighted. He enlisted in the Navy and screwed up and then enlisted in the Army until they found he had a bad conduct discharge from the Navy. This was a guy who WANTED to be a part of the efforts - he did NOT run from them. After the Bad Conduct Discharge and then the Undesirable (note Undesirable and the close date were NOT on the original papers I got for the US Army Records), Duane was not able to find work other than picking apples. This did NOT happen until 2001 or 2000 - but, after I confronted the FBI that DUANE was in the ARMY and I had a government form that stated this...the form I had DID NOT state the discharge date or the reason. It would be several months later when I was going public that the discharge date and reason was stated and sent to me. I had to explain this to an FBI agent that Duane WAS in the Army (remember the FBI agent told me the number belonged to WAVY GREEN and not Duane Weber). I would have go back in my files to see if the agent finally sent the other Army file to me or if I reapplied to the Gov and got the OTHER document. It is important to NOTE that when I applied for the documents early on - the discharge date and reason was OPEN...blank! Does NOT this sound the least bit suspicious to anyone? JERRY - YOU INSIST ON YOUR CLAIMS ABOUT THE HEALTH OF DUANE WEBER in 1973. YOU HAVE NO DOCUMENTATION OF DUANE'S HEALTH. ATHLETES HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH POLYCYSTIC KIDNEY DISEASE IN ITA EARLY STAGES AND CONTINUED TO PLAY AND LIVE A FULL LIFE. WEBER DID NOT NEED DIALYSIS UNTIL 1990 - 19 YRS LATER. SO TAKE YOUR "physical problem" OUT OF THE EQUATION! Also the friend - (AS HAS BEEN DISCUSSED BEFORE)....Did not know Duane until 1973 and NEVER TOLD YOU DUANE WAS NOT PHYSICALLY ABLE TO DO THE JUMP. If Duane had any impairments when the friend first met him - it could have been an injury caused by the jump, but this friend has noted no impairment of Duane's physical condition to me nor to the FBI if they even bothered to contact him. I have held on to this for a LONG LONG time, but perhaps now that some of you think the jump was survivable - check out the picture I hope I have in a size I can download to the DZ. Duane in his Boy South Outfit. He won all of the knot challenges and he used this skill in the N.W. in the 40's and if the prison records still exist (probably there also). He displayed his ability with the ropes and knots many times during our 17 yrs marriage. When he secured something or fixed something - it was a sure thing it would last. OK, that was a different time and a different culture. Why do you still insist on trying to tell experts in their field how things should work in that field? How many drinks did Cooper ACTUALLY DRINK? Not how many did he order, but actually consumed. Matt BINGO! I don't know who you are and I don't care if you do NOT think Weber was Cooper. You do say it the way it is and I appreciate this. You are right about the drinks - Cooper spilled one and perhaps Georger will know how many Cooper actually drank... The size of the drink glasses on the plane were NOT large in 1971 and they were glass, if I remember correctly. Some of the posters only create myths about the actual crime - No Journalist would ever be able to use this thread as a reference unless he read the complete thread. I believe that might be as difficult as sitting down and reading the 1st Testament. Sorting myth from facts. We lost our Myth versus Fact Keeper (Sluggo) and no one knows how he is or has heard from him in months. His site has not been updated for months and I fear the worse. That post deserves a round of Applause - maybe it will stop Jerry Thomas from using band width regarding this same thing over and over. I have always believed that Cooper did NOT expect to survive - The fact that he did survive surprised the Cooper himself. You guys who have never jumped who post in this thread and those who have made one of 2 jump or learned in the military - PUT yourself in the shoes of Cooper and ask yourself why Cooper made the decisions he made that night in Nov of 1971. The guy had to have been desperate and felt he had NOTHING to live for. No one ever seems to remember what Tina Mucklow told me on the phone and what she told the FBI. "He was a very SAD Man". Duane Weber was a VERY SAD man in Nov of 1971. He learned he had the same disease his mother died of. The memory of how she struggled for 2 yrs on the elementary kidney machines of 1956 was NOT a pleasant memory. He did NOT want to die that way. Weber had lost everything - he was a two bit criminal who always got caught and I will forever believe if the tie belonged to Cooper it was a message to someone that it was him. The pictures his ex-wife sent me speak for themselves. How many time do I have to post the picture of the tie Duane wore the yr before the crime. Note the tie clip even though it is a fuzzy old polaroid pic versus the Tie Tac the FBI had in their possession. Note the clip is placed from the left in both pictures - Cooper was left handed. Mr. Bennett, JO Weber does NOT know Knoss. This man contacted me with some far-out things. Tommy Gunn was not a made-up character. When I first mentioned Tommy to Knoss he had NO idea who he was. Tommy was a real person who lived in Mobile, Al and I met this man and called Tommy after I found out who Dan Cooper was 1yr and 2 months after Duane died. Long story short - 3 months later Knoss creates a character for Tommy Gunn - an FBI agent and claims Weber was also an FBI. Knoss actually caused the FBI to ignore the best suspect the FBI ever had....because of his fantasy story. The only thing I ever learned from Knoss was that Duane and his wife were indeed in Bloomington...for about 6 wks. I had developed communications with the former wife and she had told me lots of things about her life with Weber, but had never mentioned Bloomington. I contacted her about this - and her statement was "We were only there for about 6 wks while he was on the run". The time frames where only about 6 wks different and a lot of yrs had passed. This was the only thing Knoss ever said I could validate. She denied everything Knoss claimed. Two journalist/writers actually tried to check his story out but - nothing Knoss claimed existed. I believe he did indeed meet Duane and his wife, but NOT under the circumstance Knoss has claimed. Ask Geoffry Gray about his experience with this man? Now to repeat my Plea regarding Knoss: Weber DID not bury a chute under a tower. Whew! I am just about to BLOW - the co-pilot is NOT a friend of Knoss. Knoss has NO RESPECT for anyone and I regret ever having spoke to him. Until I "GOT" what he was all about, I actually thought he might know something. The more he talked the longer his NOSE grew. Give it a break Jerry. The weather was NOT the same from Seattle to Portland. The crew was in the air and no notations of weather tubulence was ever mentioned. Have you ever talked to the Co-pilot who was the one at the controls? Weather on the ground and in the air was all over the place on that night. If he jumped just before Hiesson the weather was wet with broken cloud layers - no stormy winds. If Cooper jumped near Portland around Troutdale he may have experienced more problems but that weather was going east. Starting just below Lake Merwin and down to 500 - the weather according to witnesses and new cast reports the next day - the jump was do-able. Memories of the weather 40 yrs ago do NOT hold with actual witness accounts of that night nor the media reports. Over the yrs the stories have been exaggerated about the weather - after all it makes for a better story regarding Cooper not surviving.
