Why tell me what he told me in March of 1995 after removing himself from diaylsis? 2.How could he be sure I remembered the trip of 1979 and the things he said...we never talked about it! 3. How the hell did he make all the places up and the things he said? What would be his reason in 1979. 4. In 1980 when the money was found - he was running scared. Left a good job and went to AL. I am sitting in Ft. Collins, CO with a house and a daughter graduating and all of my family is in FL and KY. Left a very good job and was gone after that article came out about the Money being found. 5. Before he leaves for AL., he goes to a town in the next state over - about a 5 or 6 hr drive to open a safe deposit box. 6. He opens a safe deposit box in Pensacola in Feb of 1990. We had a safe deposit box we used in Milton. Why did he need another one? 7. He get his John Collins ID renewed and gets arrested (placed under mental observation). He had already obtained the license in the next county the day before he was arrested... 8. A few days later he secretly flies out of Tallahasse when he was supposed to be doing a market there and flies to a midwest location....the place he had the safe deposit box. 9. I have a recording made after he got back from "market" he is claiming he has 50K. This was all during the first 3 months of diaylsis...I blamed it on the machine and the disease. He would settle down to normal within a few wks. 10. For the next 5 yrs he always had money - we didn't live off my income. I did not realize how much he contributed to the bills until after he died. 11. He gives everyone lavish gifts the Christmas of 1994 - he knew he didn't have much longer (where did the money come from)? 12 He dies in March of 95 after telling me 11 days before he was Dan Cooper and gets mad as Hell at me because I didn't understand what he was talking about - if he had said D.B. Cooper - I would have got it. 13. I find out about the safe deposit box only because there was a key and a reciept in his wallet. All that was in it was that damn magazine - The Day Nam went Nuclear. The same article he had shown me in another magazine in 1992 1993. 14. He worries about my driving his van - he knows he is dying. He tells me he keeps stuff in there...but I found nothing -not even the wallet with the fake ID. When I sold the car - the new owner found the wallet and it's contents. Not sure he gave me everything he found, but he gave me the wallet. 15. The wallet does NOT have Duane Weber's ID (because I had Duane Weber's wallet and all of it contents). The wallet in the van belonged to John Collins..... SHALL I go on? Hell, you guys just don't want to see the truth. What makes you believe that Cooper actually PLANNED on jumping far south of Olympia and into The Middle of Nowhere? Robert you do NOT read me or I am NOT communicating tonight. What are you drinking? Did I say he planned to jump there? I am stating that the man who jumped out that plane knew the area into which he landed. I believe he PLANNED to jump north of 500 and I say this because of a remark Duane made to me...about someone leaving a car at a specific location one time. Third party like lots of things he told me. On this trip he used the first person "I" in some things, but reverted to the 3rd party about the car. I had no idea how or why someone would remember a car left near a highway and near a field. P.S. This locations was very very near an airport. Cooper knew the area and he knew it well. He could have landed anywhere. Remember Duane was very familiar with Longview, St Helens OR, Kelso, Battleground area, Heission Chelatchie, Washoughal, plus he obviously had spent a lot of time in Lynnwood, McNeil, Bellingham, Nooksack, Spokane, Wenatchee and the list goes on. Everyone of those I have mentioned at one time or another in relation to the things he pointed out. .

I did not mean he could see the towers - did I say that? I think he may have been able to see a lighter area below - just like Rataczak was able to see - as he was approaching the Vancouver and Portland area. They crossed the river East of Portland over the Trout airport area. Ask him yourself. Remember one of those towers was near the river and they were on top of high areas. Like Green Mt. - no not the Green Mountain up near Lake Merwin - the one near Washougal...there was an airport there...just off of the old 500. I have NO WAY of checking that but the FBI could or document papers - I do not know the name of the friend who worked for Boeing. What exacty John's connection to Boeing was - I am uncertain. Do you or have you ever listened to anything I have said for 16 yrs. The prison files are DESTROYED after 40 yrs. I could NOT get Jefferson file because I could NOT prove I was the widow of JOHN COLLINS and the FBI would not provide what I needed After the 40 yrs were up - then CARR let part of it out in this thread (but no details). This is what this is all about. READ and LEARN. I could NOT get the Jefferson file because I could NOT prove I was the Widow of John Collins. You know I contacted Jefferson and they knew a man was coming there to get the file. When he gets there - they claim no knowledge of conversations with me. I have the damn EMAILS the prison sent me and it shows the email address of the person I was communicating with. When Carr posted or told me it was available on line (the file was over 40 yrs old). ONLY then did it read Duane Weber. Do you really think I am that dumb. WE obtained everything that was available....and that was sketchy. WHY the (blank) do you think I continue to HARP on the missing yrs? Duane was a GHOST. Do you really think that I have not done everything possible to obtain any records. Duane mentioned McDermitt - I am foggy on this area. I believe he mentioned an airport, but uncertain at this late date. Wayyyy! Over my Head, plus I am very very tired tonight. Has been a long day. Do not know how much longer I will be hanging in, NOT much I can offer. Do not forget this - the last 2 airports he pointed out as we heacded toward Tahoe. Redmond: Again the statement "we used to fly in and out of there". Then he spoke about a place the guys used to eat at in Prineville. He commented on some Canyons, but what he said is lost to me. This was the point when I asked about what he did that required his flying in and out of the airports. His answer was evasive and he change the subject and I let it go. What I can remember of what he said - unless it was noted in my statements to other individuals back in 1996 and 1997 and 1998----no one would believe! All I can hope for is that it is in some of my statements and tapes I made prior to going public and before I got a computer in 2000 and before I knew much about Cooper or theories. All I had was what he told me and what some friends found for me about some things. On the trip to Seattle and then to Tahoe - I learned things about my husband and yet I knew nothing. I just did NOT pry into his past other than what he volunteered. When ever the conversations in our marriage drifted to the past - Duane revealed little of his past during those first 12 yr - other than this trip. In 1990 - I learned about Jefferson because of his trying to use the John Collins ID. He did try to talk about his past after he settled down with the machine that 1st yr then he went into - the usual mode until the last few wks of his life in 1995 1990 to 1995 - Things on TV such as a big forests fires and then about a man being killed and french doors and shadows and a man in fatigues standing with legs apart and a rifle across his chest...there was a building behind him (Duane told me he knew this man). The man looked like a man I met in N.Orleans in 1979 or 1980. Another guy whose name I have always tried to remember lived in New Orleans - muscular and decent build. but not particularly masculine. I keep thinking Dale. Had a baby face, but he was nice - not the prison type. (He was younger than Duane and perhaps even young than myself - Duane was 17 yrs older than myself). He knew Duane from yrs past, but did NOT discuss that past with me (our conversation was brief - perhaps 5 minutes). Layers and cloudy match the description of witness who CLAIM to heard the plane overhead - and CLAIMING they thought it was a plane in trouble.. slightly N.E. of Battelground and above slightly N.W. of Heission. I find it interesting how many writers take the spoken word out of context. "Such as searching the flight path on the night of the hijacking". It was dark and there was actually noting they could do to find Cooper unless he built a fire! This is all "writer wording". They want to make their story stand out and to be read. What did anyone expect the interviewer or publisher to say? For ex: At one point an officlal in a trench coat walked up to the door of the plane. BORING! Himmelsbach did NOT write his book - Himmelsbach tried to catch mistakes made by the writer, but he told me himself that things slid thru. There were lots of questions I put to Ralph about things in his book - and if I pulled the book out there are notations about things I personally questioned him about seeming to conflict thing I was reading in old newpapers and other articles. Do you believe everything that Geoffrey Gray wrote? Of course not. A writer is just that a writer. The question you guys have is NOT something I would have thought to quiz RH. What a writer writes - take with a grain of salt. Even Himmelsbach has probably forgotten now about his differences with the writer. I know I am forgetting things. P.S. What is all of this information about the weather going to do to prove who Cooper was? Even if there was a Storm or High Winds - Cooper did jump and Cooper did survive (nothing has ever been found other than the money on the river Duane Weber put there in late Sept of 1979). I know the FBI has NOT been able to disprove Duane was Cooper! The story I told about the places Duane took me on the Columbia - was told in 1996 and was the only reasonable answer for that money appearing in the time frame it was found. He might have had one of those Duane Weber transistorized back brace back brace tactile flight directors. The inertial inputs came from home brewed ring laser gyros and accelerometers that Duane cobbed up from some old CB radios. 377 You guys keep on digging me about that - but, it was metal and because of something Duane said one time. I agree the back brace is unlikely, but it was because of a discussion Duane and I had one time. Didn't seem important until we started talking about CB's and Duane's knowledge of CB's and towers and ham radios. He said something about a wire and transistor - and about a signal felt by someone wearing the wire. That is all I remember of what he said...I do NOT remember when he and I had this discussion, but it was after 1988 when we move to FL. There was a ham operator tower behind us in our neighbors back yard. He kept coming in on our TV - something was put on our antennae or his tower so his communication did not interfer with our reception....Duane handle this - so I didn't know what was done. We also heard police reports which we thought came thru his tower - on our TV. The above is the only reason I ever asked you guys about the back brace and you 377 have not let me forget it.

Washougal River: Inside of the Washougal loop I call it. Duane talked about a Fire House or Station, Gates, a restaurant or bar the guys hung-out at, a logging camp over on the Washougal, a log cabin where he did some work on the river (there was a log fence around it). He mentioned at one point a bridge no longer there - not far from the Cabin (I thought he meant crossing the Washougal at that point) yet Jerry Thomas said no such thing existed. When we returned from the inside of the loop we went up SR 140 along the Washougal River. Again he mentions the log cabin and a point a bridge used to be. He is carried away and on the upper end of the loop he pulls into an area where we turned around. He made mention of cave or mines futher on around the loop (my memory will not let me recall the details I used to - so you will have to depend on past posts and other writings I have done in reference to this). After we turned around this point and Duane mentioned knowing someone who used to live a certain area - pointing toward what I thought were cabins or double-wide - I could see 3 I know. JT said they never existed, but others say yes.. At any rate we go back the way we came and turned on the road he had missed. This was Coffey Rd., but according to the map it reads SE. 17th . Duane pointed off to our Left a Cemetery - he did NOT give me the name of it, just said it could not be seen from the road (sure enough it was on the maps I acquired). Odd Duane pointed out cemeteries. Now that I have maps I can give names and numbers - so anyone could follow our route in 1979, if they so chose to do so. You will find my early posting and claims match the maps - maps I did NOT have in 1996 when I first related all of this crap to Himmelsbach and to Jerry. We ended up on what was the old 500, but on that route he told me about Camp Bonneville, Little Baldy (which he called Bald Mt), He mentioned a small town near by called Ireland, but I can't see the map very well tonight and it is very small. (he mentioned knowing someone in this small community). Why did the FBI NOT check this out if Himmelsbach relayed what I told him? If not perhaps someone else needs to investigate Weber's presence or knowledge of the area (by whatever name he may have used). This is when he told me about a high fence and I am sure this is the area in which he mentions 2 boys - escaping (this made me think Bonneville was a prison of sorts). One escape and one was caught - no time frame. He mentions a creek and the power lines. He mentioned some more about the Camp - a gravel pit and CampKill Pack. Again he mentions the "guys". We turn and go due North, but I do not know which road - it was wooded in 1979 and a lot of that area has changed and my money and time was limited. He did mention Larch Mtn during this time frame and in 2010 I did learn we passed near the road that would have gone there, but we were approaching the area from the NO. so that was confusing. It all started to look alike. I have tried to explain before, but no one cares but me. I do now know he took me much further NORTH than I had thought. When he told me if we continue on this road we would go to Battle Ground Lake and a gravel pit we were headed back. Now,I realize we had gone much futher north and were actually headed South. No one including myself could ever figure out when he was talking about Farguer Lake and the airstrip. I just know we made a loop. I can no longer read maps - the print is getting finer and lighter everyday. I am tired. It all makes sense to me - but then I am crazy and delusional and off my rocker. I do know we were much further North than I thought when he took me to an area where the tower used to be and the logging road - which was evident by the lower trees that went to railroad track. This was near Heisson, but I did not know that until 2010 on the trip that cost me 5K. Time and space - my memories did NOT account for. They had been condensed to seem closer together so my mind could catalogue them in my memory banks. None of this is important to anyone, but me. I hate I won't be around for the day when someone finally admits Duane Weber's background in the area. I wish I could go back in time, but it gets further and further away with each passing day. Sorry I can't go on. I have done all I can do and I am so tired. It is so senseless to continue to try to convince anyone WHAT REALLY HAPPENED. Strange those words turned out to be the sub-title of Max's book. Maybe things will get better, but the more time that passes the less likely anyone will care. Thank You. I believe you have just validated what the woman wrote on the map about the weather - she told her story in 1971 and so did another member of her family, who lived not to far East of her location. What someone also altered the map of the landing zone putting the plane West of the Portland airport - which is NOT true per witness accounts. I have the co-pilots word on this also. Someone used their own interpertation of the times and places on the map - moving minutes and moving the flight West path and it's curves lower. Lift them back up where they belong and the path corresponds exactly with the sounds and the visuals (what they could see withing the layers of the clouds) given by many witnesses - but the FBI did NOT even make notes. I was told by Himmelsbach taking notes intimidates a witness and the agent would have made his notes after returning to his vehicle. Bull, that is just an excuse for a botched investigation! These agents were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Weird - and not funny...until you have actually seen that chicken running with it head cut off - DON'T laugh! It is freaky! This new map has things jumping out at me - but, I will not venture as to why other than I have seen them on other maps just not as VIVID as this map is. I have discussed Goldendale and the bar before..one to the point he spoke about Trout and Salmon and Bingen. In Washougal it only shows the one airport I have found, but Duane indicated another airport approx. North East - in the direction of the Washougal loop...evidently it is NO long there or it was just a private or forestry dirt strip. This map is marked and supplied by one of the "witnesses" who like others tried to tell the FBI Cooper survived. The plane was heard in the Mt. St Helens area between Hood Mountain and Cougar. She claims the plane flanked S.W. Mt. St. Helens, perhaps in an attempt to dump Cooper. She lives right under this path and said the wind was blowing to the EASTand from the West.. She and others in this accounting were on the ground that night when the plane came over and another report indicated a man in unappropriate wear walking along a road (at day break the next day)NOW GET TIHS (walking toward Swift Dam) from the East. There was a LOGGING bridge near this point and she thinks he crossed this bridge and followed the logging rail. Her drawing and witness accounting put Cooper going right back at them (were the FBI concentrated their search). She thinks Cooper went to the Chelatchie Mill area and from there it was a piece of Cake. The plane was also heard very low just over Heisson, which validates this woman's story and the point North of there were she lived. Remember Duane telling me about a jumping area near the airstrip North of 500. He pointed out a road on the other side of the strip that hid another road. Too tired to continue. A poster from the WA/ID area lives near Pullman. I was wondering if he or anyone else in that area could check some County Record or provide me with the County seat of these areas. I need to contact them. Duane spoke about Pullman, Moscow and Palouse and Potlatch. This was when he mentioned Coure'd Alene. I do not know what the County Seat of Pullman is and the counties are not outlined on this map. I stumbled into a piece of information last night I did NOT know I had. Duane was married to Edna in California (so it states) on his disability questionaire. I have never been able to find a marriage certificate nor a maiden name for Edna. She might have known Duane L. Weber as Dusty. In 1956 he writes his mother from SanQuentin when his father died to let Edna attend in his stead. Therefore the family MUST have had some contact with her and the child - but his brother NEVER divulge this and all of the family records are gone except what John (Duane's brother who Duane did not see for the last 38 yrs of his life) sent me. The only surving blood relative John had was his niece...John took secrets to the grave with him. MOM and DAD kept very good records - there should have been something on this child. I was told by the ex - that Duane attempted to see his daughter in TX, but was not successful. Again this was a parallel to the story told by Clara to Max Gunther. It was the MAIN reason Max wanted to know were to find the ex-wife...when he was going to CA. I have always wished Grey could have found Max's files on this - someone threw away history. Note: Max and his wife had NO children. How all of this connect to OR and WA - I am NOT sure unless Edna was with him or from that area, but WHAT last name did Edna have. I have never been able acquire anymore information about the wife or the child. Supposedly the child was named Zona if Duane was NOT lieing. I acquired a good map of WA., but it has all of the new airports on it - I do not know if that is good or bad. I spoke with a Cooper Sleuth last night about The Dalles Airport because the Airport Duane pointed out from The Dalles was on the WA side of the river, So which is it and are there 2 airports as the individual suggested? Someone sent me a way to find all of the airports in WA state, but there are no details on these places. I also need ID and OR. Every strip there ever was from 1945 to this current date. So much to do and so little time left! I know you guys can help me locate the information I need, so please do - send them to my regular E-mail address: homes4ubyjo@aol.com This way MY search will not use Bandwidth or interfer with the conversations on the thread. I have often stated the clues to Duane's past lies in Coure'd alene and right down the state line and over to The Dalles. If a historian can locate the early history on the airports then - perhaps maybe there is a picture of Duane Weber or Dusty Wenz or whatever other name he may have used. There must be some archived information on the early airports. Duane did not lie to me about the things he showed me and told me about on the 1979 Sentimental Journey...he had absolutely NO reason to do so, but I knew nothing of his prison record at that time. Duane talked about flying in and out of Redmond, but I did NOT know the smokejumpers had a camp there. I was informed of this by someone in this thread. Having long conversations with oldtimers, but maybe I am too late. 17 yrs ago if the FBI had explored this part of my story this might have been over for me....Damn myself for trusting everything I related to Himmelsbach was actually going to the FBI! How damn naive could I have been! For your information: Someone in this thread and others had told me that the menial jobs with smokejumper was done by the jumpers themselves - NOT TRUE! They hired apple pickers and anyone willing to work for basically nothing to help build the camp along with assistance from the Forestry. Carpenters, communications, menial workers, cooks and other jobs related to the training of jumpers. Weber had a common link with the jumpers of 1944 - 1949 and then intermountian 1962 - 1964. Both times have missing yrs for Weber and both places had certain jumpers known to be involved in co-vert action during both time spans...I believe Duane was recruited out of Canon as they did their first training in that area. Duane would meet his next 'wife' in the Boulder area and she did verify they knew Paperlegs, (she ID'ed him with a pic) but I have not found any Proof! She said Duane did NOT talk about what he did and would be gone several wks at a time. 1965 they went to KS where he worked for Pyramid Life...under the name John Collins. Duane Weber's unique ability with communication equipment is coming to light. Remember my story about one of our many trips to WY. All of sudden there was a strange communication on the CB and I asked what it was. Duane pointed over head to the sky. I do not remember if I saw the plane, but he explained something about the frequency he had on the CB. This was NOT something unusal to Weber. The ex-wife also commented about his passion for CB's (I do not know when CB's came into use in vehicles and cars). Duane was farsighted - great asset to a spotter for planes and for fire towers. What would the guys who flew into Redmond have to do with Prineville. He commented about a restaurant they used to go to....this was the one time I asked what he did in the area. He said he couldn't talk about it. In retrospect after learning about his criminal record - I assumed he was in prison, BUT one does not fly prisoners in and out of an area to fight a fire.
