You do not allow PM's and some information I do NOT make public. Really had NO idea you had any connection to Murray - so do I, but that is NOT the College I attended. I left KY when I was 19 yrs old when my parents retired with a 4 yr old and then produced another sibling brother in 1960 AFTER they retired. 4 of us were born and raised in KY...and the connection to MURRAY is a PM only information. Georger has been a pain sometimes, but at least he tried to stay on track and share his knowledge, but easily agitated by others. I like Georger because I think I understand him. Blevins got hooked into the story and convinced himself KC was Cooper, but has seen and read things on this thread and reflected his uncertainty. He tried to tone down the TOOTING of his book and KC, but he has an investment as he did write a book. He realizes he made lots of mistakes and toned down his views. 377 has just been holding back, but we all know he is reading what is being posted. He like others is tried of the banter Knoss has created. 377 always took a neutral ground, but a very knowledgeable man and jumper. Mrshutter took on Knoss - Mrshutter must have the patience of a God. Matt (sorry I forgot your handle) has always tried to help make logical presentations. I can't thank all of you by name because my memory is creeping away from me on a daily basis, but Thank YOU to ALL of you for putting up with my persistence. Even those who dismissed him have had to ponder - WHY is she doing this? How can she do this? What is driving her? Was Weber actually Cooper or was he a practical joker who played a joke on his wife? Is his wife trying to capitalize on Cooper? How can she constantly and consistently keep this up? Well, she can't - she is very very tired, but at least there are those who now see what I have known all along. It is time the story was told - the man without a past did indeed have a past, but one not easily followed. Recent events - and discoveries are now setting me free. I do have 2 last things I have to do and both of those will be in WA as soon as I am able to make that trip and find the money to do so. It will be very private and there will be NO cameras or media - this trip will be just as quiet as my last trip in 2010. You will know I have been there, but only on the last day...and then Jo Weber can let go. Duane's remains will be left in WA - because that is where he expected to die or should have died. I haven't decide where in WA that should be yet, but maybe it would be fitting for his ashes to be scattered all across Clark County. This has been a long and hard day - I am very tired. Ditto on that! Knoss has trashed this thread the way he trashed every Cooper site he was allowed to participate in. This is a damn shame because before Knoss at least individuals who had something to contribute - had a place to do so. Since Knoss came here - the thread has been in shambles No one wants to tread thru all of the MUD that Knoss has put on this case. Every time Knoss learns something new about Weber - suddenly he invents a connection to McCoy or someone else. Note his description of Duane with the Blonde hair and the fair complexion and make-up being use went out the window when the pictures showing my complexion in comparison to Webers were posted. I hope now you guys understand the obstacle place before me when I tried to research Duane's past. Weber was the best suspect the FBI ever had until Knoss destroyed that. Ray in 1967 was just a common small time thief as supposedly Weber was. What made you think Ray was so special - he was a small time two bit criminal. Since you know so much about Ray - why don't you recite his prior convictions - prisons and educational level? The first prison Weber was sentence to was the worst of the worst and why his family pulled so many strings to keep him out of that system. Duane was several yrs young than the record showed when he was sentenced to McNeil. He was barely 19 yet the prison file has him as being 24. Does anyone out there think Duane Weber had grudge? I think he had a hard on for the system and a life that was stolen from him. 1.Tried to join the Navy before he was 16. 2. Was given a Bad Conduct Discharge because of a 90 day wonder. 3. Then managed to get into the Army while his family is fighting the government about the Bad Conduct Discharge. 4. After the Undesirable label placed on him by the army he could not even get a job. 5. He gets into trouble in Columbia. 6. He goes to CA - a place his family chose to escape the embarrassment and to find work. 7. Unable to find work - Duane gets into more trouble. 8. He is put on a program, but gets back into trouble and sent to McNeil. 9. The family has relatives and friends in the N.E. - something is worked out to keep him out of the McNeil population. 10. Duane's father has rejected him and so Duane goes to Chicago, but ends up in trouble. 11. Duane goes back to the N.E. the only place he felt wanted and needed. 12. I believe a child is born during this time. 13. Duane goes to CA around 1949 but ends up in SanQuentin and Folsom - serving the old Columbia sentence concurrently. 14. Father dies while he is in prison in 1956. 15. On probation in 1957 and and living with MOM goes to ST.Pete and MOM dies in 1958. 16. 1960 he is sentenced to Canon City and release in 1962. 17. 1962 - meets the woman he will spent the next 10yrs with, but living under the name of John Collins for 6 of those yrs. 18. 1966 sent to Jefferson and promised a commutation of sentence for a service. 19. 1968 Yea, he got that commutation under John Collins. Duane Weber was supposed to get that commutation. 20. 1968 he and his wife go back to CO and the FBI comes looking for him - bummer what did they want now. 21. They flee to N.Orleans and suddenly the FBI stops looking for Duane Weber. 22. The family head to GA after some terrible things happened in N.Orleans. What did Weber do for someone to get the FBI and the government to leave him alone? What and how did Duane Weber hold the jobs he held? Ex-cons cannot hold insurance sales licenses. He was licensed in several states. Why was Weber constantly lookin over his shoulder and all around the room? Why did he tell me one time he had to keep a LOW profile? How and why did he know where McCoy had been killed? Why are the Cooper books and that book from the N.E about smokejumpers the only books I ever knew Weber to read during the earlier yrs of our life? I could go on and on - but, there is enough room here for a GRUDGE - right? P.S. While living with the wife of the 60's he is all over the country and they are together some of the time and he some times left her behind. 1962 to 1966 - those are the yrs the wife told me about....long story. She doesn't tell me everything about N.Orleans, but someone else did or at least what was experienced and the consequences. Think about this - WHY the FBI or whoever was chasing Weber stopped in 1969? What did Weber do for someone - what was the price of this freedom? Since it was NOT part of the State Forestry division - this makes the surveyors job easier. Land had to be surveyed before it could be sold and then later if developed it had to be surveyed again. I think what you and others have done was just take "my"word it was a fire tower. I cannot imagine what a tower in the middle of the wood is other than a fire tower. Now I guess I start trying to find more from the locals I just know the property was somewhere between Battleground and north of there - probably in directions N.E. because of a Dam he mentioned and the light on it you could see forever. I think Cooper had to have known the area and have known it well to walk out of there. He had to know land marks and he had to be able to navigate without a map whereever he landed. He had to reasonable have thought no one would remember him because it had been too many yrs - he was in his 20's when he was there and he changed a lot. Perhaps he felt secure in that he knew the area and hoped no one would remember him if he survived. Frankly I think just because I knew Duane Weber for so long, that he did NOT expect to survive. I think he actually thought he would die. Hell, it would have been a faster death than what his mother suffered thru. I think he might have sort of went OFF his rocker and expected to die - he did NOT want to die the slow painful death he watched his mother die of. Since the wife Duane had until 1972 - claims she left the first of November - maybe she told the truth there. Because of Duane's personality and his life - he felt like he had NOTHING to live for. In 1971 he had spent most of his life in and out of prisons. At 19 he was chucked out of the Navy - because he defended a girls honor when a 90 Day wonder forced himself on a young lady. Duane defended her and ended up getting kicked out of the Navy because of this. Duane had a code - do NOT insult my wife or any woman. I personally experienced this myself - and all the guy did was block my way from the rest room. The mother and father do everything they can to get the Navy to dismiss the charges (I have the papers and the letters exchanged between the Navy and the parents), but in the mean time Duane gets into the ARMY, but then within in 6 wks they find him out - but he was in there under his name (the FBI agent told me Duane was NEVER in the Army). A friend of the family was on the same base at that time....when Duane was forced also out of the Army because he had a bad conduct discharge with the Navy. He goes on a tangent within the base by commandering the Commandors jeep and going for a joy ride. No one will hire him and he heads to Chicago where he has an Uncle (gets in trouble - no money and no job) and then to Ca to be with his parents. The FATHER blames Duane and the mother defends him. Not being able to get a job picking apples he ends up in trouble. When he is sent to McNeil the family has enough pull to keep him out of tye system. No money and no job he gets into more trouble and then the judge threw the book at him and sent him to McNeil (note the FBI claimed he only pasted thru there) and from what I know he actually did NOT get put into the general population in the prison. Intervention was starting then and manpower was short because of the war. Duane was sent to WA and this is when I believe he got involved in the STATE of WA so heavily. I can only try to piece this together with the family records. We know Duane ended up back in the Ohio area for short time and was arrested and escaped, but we think he went BACK to WA. We do know that when he was sentence to San Quention and Folsom that he served extra time concurrently there because of the escape from Columbia. Since he was on the run from 1945 to 1949 - little is know about where and what he did...other than the Family HELPED to hide him....but he was a Mama's boy and he had to go see his mama....but he didn't have money and he couldn't get a job....not with his dismissal from the Navy and the Army. Duane was the youngest and he was a late life baby for his parents. He is in prison from 1950 until 1957 and then he ends up getting arrested with in wks - in St.Petersburg, FL. We aren't sure what happened there because he ends up in Prison in 1960 in Canon City, CO. His sister signed him out of Canon City in 1962. What happen from there we don't know - I do know. Duane was involved in somethings in CO in Canon, Leadville and a town above FT. Collins. This is when he met the wife he would stay with for 10 yrs....she met and knew him a John Collins - not Duane L. Weber. Duane obviously was NOT on the run as he had been released as Duane Weber and went to work as a door man at a hotel in Denver and a town south of there (this is when he met Dorthy Kilgalen). She did NOT want her paper put at her door - she wanted the doorman to knock and hand the paper to her. We know he met his wife about this time - but she only knew him as John Collins? The hotel had a room in the basement - I understand he used that as his living quarters for a short time. From 1962 until 1968 - Duane Weber was known as John (Johnny) Collins. His wife and step children only knew him as John. In 1964 he went to work for Pyramid Life in KN - they have no record of him. They claimed to me they had purged all of their records from that time. According to the step childern they made good money and they lived in a nice house - but in 1966 - Duane is in trouble again. When Duane was in Jefferson and she would go to see him - they told her he was in solitare. Duane had already spent most of his adult life in prison and Jefferson lets this many time fellon out of prison on a communation of sentence! The wife and kids claimed they did NOT know his name was Duane Weber until that time. After his release from there - Duane Weber never spent another day in jail. His commutation of sentence was for John Collins not Duane Weber. THIS HAS ALWAY BEEN ODD. In 1971 Duane had made NO money - you can't get a good job if you are an EX-con. He didn't know anything but the prison system. He never got to know what it was to be a normal youth growing up and spending his life doing normal things. According to the sister Duane was not given a fair shake by the system when the Government refused to change the Army Bad Conduct Charge - it made him unemployable. I think he was bitter about this and I think he was ashamed of the life he had lived. Everyone in his family was successful but him. His brother 12 yrs his senior had graguated from College and was an engineer (try the employment records at Boeing) in WA. The brother and his partner also purchased commercial property in Tacoma. I believe Duane did have a GRUDGE and I believe a letter sent with a letter to one of the newspaper was written by Weber. The one with the CODE is a combination of his army and navy serial number. Since Duane was put out of the NAVY - why would he 70 yrs later still have his navy number written down in his address book. Connect the Army number and then the Navy number and you have the CODE. If a letter was actually sent to the New Paper with this code - I believe it was Duane trying to get caught. He did NOT know how to function out side of a prison setting. I know that what-ever he did with Intermountain and in WA it dealt with codes and communications. He didn't cut it as a jumper so he did the next best thing. I believe he was doing this under a name provided by a distant relative or friend of the family in WA. I believe he was happy doing what he did in WA, but it was about that time in 1949 that the SS records where starting to catch some and he got home sick and wanted to see Mama. Duane WEBER was always respectfuly of women and he knew how to treat a woman - he was very protective. I have a feeling his survival in the system made him like that. He was larger than some of the others and he could be very ominous looking with his voice and features and when Duane said something in that voice one listened. I will never believe that Duane was gay or bisexual, but he was the kind to protect others. The young man in N.Orleans who came out to talk to me - he was much younger than Duane anda BABY faced kind of guy. He cared a lot about Duane - and NOW I think I just might know why! In the prisons perverted sex was common and a pretty young baby faced prisoner was quickly destroyed by the perverts. Perhaps (I hope) Duane used his stature to protect some of the guys....it would be how he conducted his life. Duane would give you the shirt of his back - in the 17 yrs I knew the man he was generous and loving and for the most part a good citizen. He eve got to vote in the last 2 elections before he died. Ex-cons can't VOTE or at least they could not then. When Duane made a friend it was for life. The friend I met in Denver (a man who lived in Castle Rock, Co in 1979) was exactly like Duane - but I never learned where they knew each other from. This is where Knoss's one legged man came from. Especially in 1983 when he started to make BIG money and yes I know I am particially responsible of the this. When he was "ascared" a word I could never break him from - worried that someone on might recognize him . HE mentioned this on 2 or 3 occassion when we went to a nich restuarant - he was always watching everyone an deverything in the room. Finally Virginia Beach VA he got over what every fear he had of strangers and this constantly watching ever mover of other. He kept telling me he couldn't take the promotion - he had to keep a low profile. I thought this was because of the "County Jail " thing. What he told me about going to a jail for a couple of months - and also said his wife waw with them, but they agreed not to tell on her since she had children. Presumably 2 other guys helped Duane with this crime. THis was his explanation nof the nightmare he had after we got married when he screamed "I going to Die" after stating "I left my prints on the Aft Stairs" [RED]Stupid me didn't know there were not aft stair in a jail house![/RED] Remember this dream was only 3 month after we were married and living in Denver, Co. ...He did not tell me he was in prison (just a couple of months in a county jail). None of those: When yrs ago I spoke with the head man a the forestry division - I explained the land we were on was not on a high point. He suggested it was a private logging tower perhaps around the 1st Standard Parallel what-ever the hell that is. It was not part of the forestry and was probably privately maintained. Lumber companies bought out forested land and/or acquired land from the state. Some of this land is now farms, developement and privately owned. He mentioned the Lucia Falls area along with others and said that fell outside of the forestry and they had no records of these towers and/or lands. I had explained to him the land with the tower was NOT mountaineous, but relative flat and could be considered what I call rolling hills. He did NOT know who I would need to contact about these privately owned lands - some of the mills are defunct and there is no telling where their records are or if they even exist. Back in 1979 If I had been a developer - I would have sold the wood on this land and then later have sold off parts of it for developement. Areas I have lived in - have done this. The area he took me to was NOT in the mountains - just thick woods and tall trees. Today it could be a town or a developement or a golf course - that is the kind of land it was - but wooded with timber.. He buried something there - he did not tell me what. The tower was NO were near a river or a dairy farm. The farm with a small building toward the road to the side of the house - reminded me of a milking station. This farm was on Lake LaCames....and NO WHERE NEAR the tower Duane claimed to have buried something behind. Knoss does NOT even know where the lake is or he would not persist with his ridiculous claim. The location of the farm was NO where near the RIVER or the landing zone - just a place where Duane told me he used to know the people who lived there and they had 2 boys - one about his age. This farm was near Lake LaCames. I have identified the farm and the fact the deceased owners did a have a son Duane's age. Where did YOU find that map or did you make it up. There are 5 towers within the area that might be possible locations of the tower that was NOT there in 1979 - the site in the woods Duane took me to. Since this map does NOT give me the locations and if it really exists then I need more specifics on these towers. When they went up and when they came down and the exact location of the tower. Towers from Orhard and north of there along the flight path or within in walking distance of the flight path and where Cooper might have landed. 1.All I know about the site is this 2.It must have been there in 1971. 3.It was not there in 1979. 4.It had been logged and Duane pointed out the low place in the tree lines saying there used to be a logging road all the way to the rails. 5. The light on the tower could be seen from a long ways - he pointed toward the location of the logging road and the tree line that was lower. 6. There used to be a shed to our right and to the right of the tower - the logging trail was slightly - lower than the other trees remaining. 7. The site was circular and there where no trees on in so the tower must not have been gone for too long --- in other words we were in a clearing in the middle of the woods. 8. The lower tree line was slightly Left of the clearing but not at a complete left angle. In other words if the road we came in on was a clock and we came in at 6 o'clock the logging road would have been at approx 11 on the clock. 9. The shed would have been at 3 O'clock and right beside the tower. Duane told me he buried something BEHIND the shed one time. 10. Because of time and space and sequence in my memory I know it was along the line between Orchard and a Dam North of there which was well lit. That could be interesting. I had relatives at Vancouver and Portland during the whole Cooper saga. Concerning the money discovery my impression is feelings & opinions ran the gamut against a general background of surprise. Surprise because newspaper coverage had placed the arena of the Cooper activity well north of Portland-VCVR. By 1976, for example, FBI Himmelsbach himself had placed Cooper's bailout as being 12 miles north of Vancouver (in a well publicised newspaper interview). With the money find many people now believed Cooper had survived, made his way south back to Portland, and got separated from some of his money somehow, perhaps in an altercation in one of the hobo camps that dotted the area west to the Tena Bar area. Some people wondered if Cooper had managed to jump a train and come south, then crossed the Columbia at Vancouver trying to get back to Portland (and was separated from some of his money there?). I can tell you that the Janet story, for example, was not commonly known, so far as I know, but a few people in Janet's circle did know of her and her husband's account - there should be FBI paperwork if she did in fact contact the FBI about her story. Mr. Tosaw heard the story directly from Janet years later, at a book signing, by all accounts, and not from FBI sources. The official FBI version was the Palmer theory, so far as I know. Some agents were not sure his theory worked. One question I have always wondered about is if the Portland and Seattle offices (their agents) were in total agreement, in accepting the Palmer theory? I dont have an answer to that, or even opinion. In particular I don't know what the lead agent at Vancouver thought in spite of the fact I have always been told he was a true expert on the Cooper case, in all of its facets, and thoroughly professional, but never gave interviews and was never sought out for interviews for some reason? He is long deceased, for whatever that's worth. I know the discovery of the money caused a scramble at Vancouver-Portland, areas were explored and searched by all kinds of people immediately after the money find, but again my impression is interest died down pretty quickly after the excavation at Tena Bar ended. It would be interesting to see what you can develop on this basic question. Some 'people' have advanced the idea to the point of even assuming it, that the bundles found at Tena Bar match the 'money' Cooper pulled from his bag and offered Tina Mucklow. Then when Tina rejects the money Cooper stuffs it into his coat pocket, and loses it out of his coat pocket later? I dont buy that theory at all.

Weber and McCoy are NOT connected as a certain person maintains. Note his use of the name "MAC" and "Gotcha". The only Max in Duane's life was a respected insurance company home office executive and his favorite expression was "Gotcha". This is the kind of thing Knoss takes and incorporates into his story. This brief paragraph exchanged with Knoss is HOW he INVENTED his story about MAC. In a subsequent conversation - he kept "INVENTING" his story. He took the "milk can" from what I told him about a farm I presumed to be a dairy farm - this farm was located in the Cames area. That is how Knoss invented his "milk can story" and he puts this supposed dairy farm miles and miles away from his supposed site. How many miles separate LaCames Lake from the West side of Vancouver? See what I mean! I did NOT invent or contoct any part of the story about Duane Weber, but Knoss continues to INVENT ridiculous stories regarding anything I said to him....KNOSS made a mockery out of the truth and actually is the REASON the FBI ceased investigating Weber. If I knew back when (around 1998) who and what this man was - he would not exist today. Knoss claimed to have known Duane and I continuely threw information his way - FAKE and Truths mixed to see if he was for real. It became evident to me and others what Knoss was all about. Knoss NEVER even knew Duane - which is obvious from the SO VERY WRONG things he mentioned regarding Duane's health and appearance. The consensus at that time and now is - Knoss did NOT know Weber. He NEVER offer any PROOF he knew WEBER or COLLINS and so his Invention continued to grow and grow and grow into the horrible destructive MONSTER it has become. He continues to attack the Cooper Story from all angles and with absurdities. He has caused a SHUT DOWN of every interesting and reasonable site about Cooper. Now you know how he INVENTED MAC and Gottcha! Knoss doesn't just HIJAX things - Knoss changes innocent enquiries used to INVESTIGATE his claimed knowledge of Cooper into MONSTERS that destroy and obscure the truth. 1979 Duane and I make a trip to Seattle and Duane makes a stop in Salt Lake City. We had both seen Salt Lake and I had not wish to revisit it. Duane sets me up to take the attached photo - but I never knew why. A man in Salt Lake City who worked out of the visitors center. We spend that first night in The Dalles which was his target. He disappears for 5 1/2 hours the next morning - returning soiled and 15 min after Check out. He tells me about people he knew in Biggs and Rufus - I even have their names now. I was told this store did NOT exist and Mattie didn't exist nor did her nephew exist, but in 2010 I found they did exist. Everything he told me about The Dalles was exactly as he told me and the fire dept had a museum and what he told me about that Fire Dept. puts Weber in WA during the late 40's. My accounting of this trip is detailed in the thread many time. Yet, there are those who dispute this trip. Yet, I told this to the FBI and to Himmelsbach during those first 4 yrs before I went public. While in Seattle he disappears for a complete afternoon returning to our hotel and we are late getting to the Awards Banquet. He was giddy and he had not been drinking and he was not with the other guys. On our way back to Vancouver he makes several stops which I have outlined in prior post. As we crossed into Portland headed East - he turns around after making several strange comments and showing me things (all out lined in this thread many times). We head instead to Tahoe - and he was in several casinos depositing me at an exit and telling me to be there when he got back. We never spent more than a few minutes in each casino. I now think he was WASHING money and the stops since they all relate to the crime locations - one across from the PDX and then at a big TANK on the river and then West where he again gets out of the car and goes to the river ordering me to stay in the car (trees and some kind of shed down by the water) -that he would be just a few minutes. The final stop in Vancouver was THE RED LION and at that time he threw a paper sack into the water. He makes sure I am kept busy telling me to get us some snacks and tells me exactly where the rest rooms and machine were located. There was a side trip off of the I-4 when he crossed a bridge - I would not remember this until I went to WA on my own in 2010 and after crossing that bridge there was the store we stopped at and the large Yard there. The place had changed very little and he drove me down to a small town along the river on the Oregon side and then back to the bridge we crossed over before. This was before we got to Vancouver. After we had married in 1978 he wakes with a terrible nightmare. "I left my prints on the AFT stair - I am going to die" He lets out a blood courdling scream. I knew nothing about Cooper, but when I asked him what the AFT stair where - he told me it the stairway in a county jail. THis was the 1st I knew about Duane having ever been in jail. He dismissed it as a couple of months in a county jail because he and a couple of guys got into something they should not have. I swallowed this story hook and sinker - he never told me he was in prison and I now know that AFT stairs are NOT in county jail houses or prisons. Our trip to Salt Lake and Seattle and Tahoe are the next yrs 1979 around the end of Sept. This is when he made all of his STOPS. There were lots of other places between The Dalles and Seattle he took me to and all of these indicate he had spent a LOT of time in the area. He never looked at a map the first time. While in Seattle we had to go to a banquet away from the Hotel site and they gave us a map. When Duane is going there I tell him that is out of our way. He tells me that the road we are taking will go back to the highway we were supposed to be on. We end up behind the Airport and the first thing he say is " I don't remember that fence". He does not mention Cooper or the skyjacking. He does mention a building to our Left that was offices - he told me it used to be a motel. Now yrs later I find the fence that was there in 1979 and the one that was there in 1971 are different. The chain link was put up after the skyjacking. The old fence was what appeared to be wood and low. In 1980 they papers are plastered with the Cooper find of the money. Duane resigns his job (making great money) and leaves me in Ft. Collins with a daughter graduating in May and her birthday party coming up. His resignation is dated the day after the money find was announced. He leave 4 wks later only after asking me to ride with him to a town in another state. He has his brief case - he is not licensed in that state. He had been emphatic we had to get there before 3 Pm. He tells me to say in the car and a few moments later he is back in the car and we head back to CO. He went to a bank - just told me he had to see a man about some business. I now believe he opened a safe deposit box in that bank and paid it forward for 10 yrs. Because in 1990 he goes back there after risking his freedom to obtain a John Collins ID. Things showed up I had never seen. This is when the Sea-Tac stub showed up, a book of matches, Mickey, A couple of magazines - which he blew his top about when I threw them away before he died. Also this thing - that I would later learn was part of a parachute - but I didn't know this until I sold it in 1995 at a garage sale after Duane died. The man who bought it told me what it was. At that time I puzzled why Duane would have an attachment for a parchute. Also in the garage was alarge jar - with some kind of contraption in it...Duane told me never to throw it away. I still do not know what was in that jar. Duane broke his leg in the early part of 1994. I wanted to clean out an old 1990 file from the shop. He told me he would do it later. I persisted and dumped the entire contents of the box and started to sort things out. There was an old airline ticket and I read it out loud - he just said it was an old ticket and had no meaning. Later he would ask me what I did with that ticket. I thought maybe I had put it in the throw away things, but since he seemed upset - I went to the garage and when thru every item I had removed from the box (they had not been mixed up with the regular trash as I had put them in a plastic bag. I told hhim it wasn't there and it was probably in the box. He tells me he will get it later. A couple of days later I am putting his clothes away as I away did when I did the laundry. He said he would put them away later, but he has a cast on his leg and I proceed to do my job. There is that airline ticket! He had retrived it. I never saw it again. Then in late 1994 I had a garage sale and had one of the workers he had use help me. I had to take Duane to diaylsis and when we got back she asked me about a book that was not a book and what was in it - DUANE eemphatically told her it was not for say and to set it aside. Later that evening Duane would ask me to retrive it - it was not there. He said he would ask the girl about it tomorrow. Duane was visibly upset. Over a yr after Duane died and I had found out who DAN COOPER was - I called this girl but she had no memory of the box (she had a problem). Duane told me in the hospital 11 days before he died he was DAN Coooooper, but I didn't know who Dan Cooooper was. I didn't understand what he was talking about. One yr and 2 months later I learn purely by accident - D.B. Cooper was Dan Cooper. I really wish I had not. I was trying to let a suitor down gently and the book on widowhood said if you meet a guy you do not want to be romantically involved with but wanted to keep him as a friend to start talking about your deceased. I did and he asked me if I ever thought my husband could have been D.B. Cooper. Two wks later I check a book out of the library and learn in the first few page that D.B. Cooper had called himself Dan Cooper. This was the first knowledge I ever had of this - I was on the phone to the FBI on that night May 24 1996 - the rest is history and it has been the worse 16 yrs of my life. The FBI dissed me, but I thought Himmelsbach was telling them what I told him - he had only gave them a letter someone helped me put together and copies of the ID's and what was in the hidden Wallet I did NOT find in the Van I sold after Duane died. The new owner called me and told me had my husband's wallet and I replied I have my husband's wallet. A few days later he would deliver this wallet to me. It was my husband, but the ID in the wallet was for John C. Collins. The finder claimed nothing else was in it. Why did he tell me 2 different stories - one on the phone and then when he delivered the wallet tell me he hadn't looked in it when I asked what was in it. I won't go into details with this - but something was fishy. Oh, Well - NO one believes me, but surely as I sit here telling this story again - I have changed nothing. Tried of trying to get someone to hear me and to REALLY investigate the background of Weber....I decided to do what I could do myself. The FBI did NOT investigate Duane Weber and John Collins and if they did they sure missed a lot. I posted Duane's work history and that of a wife during the 60's all the way to 1972. How does a man go from making less than 2K in 1971 buy 2 new cars and divorce and remarry and buy a new house and make lots of expensive improvements. He even loaned his boss 5K on a note. Perhaps you should not put down intuition and memories. I may have dumb blonde syndrome and I may not have the degrees you and my brother have, but I have a memory and it is very accurate. The case against Duane is completely different than the other claims. I was married to this man for 17 yrs. I wasn't writing a book. I have NOT changed my story. I did NOT go public until the FBI lied to me. I have tax records, employment records, financial records, time date and stamp - by this I mean - admissions to a facility and only hours after he was taken in for trying to obtain a drivers license in another county under the name of John Collins. The county which came after him was unaware he had actually obtained his goal in the next county over. The government nor the authorities had not been looking of Weber in relation to a crime for yrs. He held decent employment during our marriage and made good money. Why did he need that drivers license so badly he risked going to jail for obtaining that drivers license? Why did he fly out to the midwest very shortly thereafter and who provided him with the funds he supplemented his income with for the next 5 yrs? As for the case against Duane being Closed - that is what you would like everyone to think and this is something the FBI wants to go away. Problem is it will not go away - nor will I until someone puts some PROOF in my hands that Duane Weber was NOT Cooper. Therefore my case or the case against Weber is NOT Closed as much as you would like to think so. My level is far above pre-school, so no need to insult me. U certainly are not behaving like a gentleman - educated or uneducated. Your blatantly turning your back on suspects - will NOT stop the public from persuing the truth....what will you do when I walk in to the FBI office (not alone) with a footprint that cannot be denied? Georger rather than chewing on Bitter Herbs - make a post about something WE all might like to discuss. Lately U offer 0 in the way of material information - U just Bash someone - anyone! Surely there is something about Cooper U would like to or need to discuss! Do you have anything new within your grasp or have you done all U can do? I want to talk about Salt Lake City - I want to know who that man was Duane had me take a pic of. The guy sure was giving me a hard look when he passed by. I find it difficult to understand why I NEVER found anyone who was willing to ID the man. He worked at the Vistors Center in August of 1979 and his name was on the roster in the hall. His office as you went out the door was to the right down the hall. I have never been able to get anything out of anyone in Salt Lake City and I just do not understand this. I just want to know who the man is in the attached photo. Strange that out of 50 yrs of photos - the only negatives missing was the first strip in this group and that when I had the film developed - Duane wanted to know where the negatives where. Why did he need the negatives? Who was this man? This picture would also have a reaction YRS later when I was redoing the photo Album around 1989 - he took the photos I discarded, but I never saw them again. TimeWarrior - good name, because you must be in a time warp. Anyone who depends on watching videos or old TV programs and news articles does NOT get a consistent answer to any one facet of the Cooper case. Suggested reading - this thread and the prior thread that is closed - from beginning to end. Over the yrs I have receive many enquiries from individual such as yourself - wanting quick answers. Many of these were students who had chose Cooper for their thesis or just a project for a Web page. One has to know something about the crime - OLD news papers. Then you start to sort thru the many versions of the story - it is mind boggling and hence someone else writes an article or story and screws up some more facts - and so the Never Ending Cooper Sago goes on and on and on. Every story told adds even more Myths and hence the Facts become buried beneath the rubble of what some call research and others call garbage. Blevin made is panned remark below: Blevins, you put together some "things" - individuals led you to believe might have some meaning. You have NO detailed records with dates of KC's background. Did you read the time lines I provided for Weber - employment records, dates of unusual activities documented with purchases and property records along with coins and other things There is more circumstancial evidence regarding Weber than there was KC. KC never harmed a fly on the wall much less skyjacked a plane. He was a hard working honest young man who was frugal and invested in his future. He was likeable and yes - probably gay, but who cares. Why would these former friends claim the things you wrote about? Most of them are very elderly and did not realize the extent to which a writer would go to write and sell a book on this subject. You put words in their mouths - word that will be very embarassing to them if they are still alive when the truth is known and Cooper is exposed. You have them backed into a corner with your book along with all of the publicity and they are afraid of being shamed by their relatives and friends. You pushed these seniors into a corner and they just don't know how to get out... Not one piece of evidence did you produce that would NOT have been the NORM for those days. The financial records mean nothing...and the way you approached these vulnerable individuals and the way you wrote the story - left them with NO out. One such story is about the night of the crime - these guys were out having a good time and probably heard about the skyjacking on a CB or the radio...and knew about the skyjacking...and decided to hang out to see what was going to happen. If those guys had a CB or a radio in the RV - they knew what was going on and you can bet Cooper was discussed when they got home. If I lived in Wa in 1971 and was married to Duane and he came home after a night out with the "guys" - a night that was actually a family night - you can bet he would have been on the line - up one side and down the other. Also, consider I did NOT know about Duane's criminal past - and put that into the above senario. It is just natural for a wife to be pissed as hell about a husband who does not show up and the next day is Thankgiving! Believe me the families would have made a bigger to do about it at that time and NO one would ever have forgotten it. How would these "guys" handle this. Hell, you know that on Thankgiving Day - Cooper was ALL people were talking about. I am sure these guys also liked a good tease - but, if these women even for one serious moment believed their friend or spouse was Cooper - it would have come out back then...not 38 yrs later when some writer starts asking questions. All because some investigator on the opposite of the US got a letter from a man who thought his brother could have been Cooper. Jo Weber does NOT post on face book. I was invited to an individual's site and made a complimentary mark about that site and the pictures (this site had NOTHING to do with Cooper). I will remind you guys that it was during the time of the FACE BK page that Knoss harassed some of the McCoy's descendants. When one does a face off with children and teens - well, it goes beyond words I will allow myself to use in this thread....don't get me started! I tried to view the Face Bk site I heard so much about which was Trashed. Since I could only go to invited sites - I may have made ONE post - but I frankly I don't remember doing so. When the Jamie Cooper thing was going on in the DZ - someone posted a link and I got to read a few statements, but saw nothing of interest. Have never learned to navigate Face Bk and why I like DZ - it is easy. Bruce needs to talk to this former FBI agent some more. He did a great job on the interview. Since some of us gave him such a hard time about Tina and her family - he has done a complete turn about...he admits his errors and does everything he can to right any wrong or harm he has done. I tried to post this an hour ago, but kept loosing the DZ. Thought maybe we had been shut down; The Post that probably will not make any sense to any of you but, me. I have had enough of Knoss and his garbage. I have another surgery and possible another one after that ahead of me. The Cooper story does NOT need anymore "stories". It is time to end the Cooper Saga once and for all. Unfortunately Knoss is NOT part of that story - he was a detour placed in my way and in the path of others. The Cooper Story has taken so many twists and turns it reminds me something I wrote regarding my journey. I even gave it a title I just did a copy and paste and had not read it in several yrs. Since it caused me to cry - I decided it was NOT time to share those thought with you guys. Aren't you glad I spared you the additional garbage. It is a story about being lost in this maze regarding Cooper, but never mentions Cooper or Duane or the individual I am directing my words to. I end the story with a memory about my father who had called me the night before he died. I was unable to be by his side as in 1991 I had just had surgery. I wrote: I remember and I yearn for my father as he was when I was 5 yrs old when the fire ball raced all around me in the darkness of the basement. He came running to the sound of my screams and took me up in his arms gently assuring me he loved me and that I was in no harm as he wiped away my tears with a love that beamed on his face and radiated in his blue eyes. Even when he was punishing me I could always feel his love and could see the pain it caused him. This is a memory I recall every time this happens and it is the one comforting thing that helps me to feel whole afterwards --- because I know I was loved and that in death he did come to tell me Good-By as I felt his hand on my shoulder early that morning as the cloudy sky parted and the moon was suddenly visible. I would not know until 7:15AM that morning that he had died around 5 AM that same morning. Why Daddy is part of all this I know not, other than we regress to happier times when we are troubled. It is a defense mechanism when all else fails - a way to hold on. Well, I am sure I just bored you guys to death. I look at it as a reflection and inspiration to continue my battle to find the truth. The road has been long and lonely and with lots of detours and often I have strayed and became lost. Some way I always found my way back as though someone was directing me from deep within the forest. When I have felt lost - somehow someway - there was always a ray of hope. Often wks and months would go by with nothing new. I needed to be in WA and not in FL if I was ever going to find the answer. Now I need to go back - but it maybe a trip I will not be able to make. The answer to that lies within the hands of the creator - not me. One can be sure the FBI nor the Government will expend any effort to find the truth - even when I have basically told them where to look. All of the theories and different stories come back to only one answer. All of the piece fit - the dates & the background - it is all there, but the actual footprints are the only things that will end this Saga once and for all. I want to get well and go back to WA - I know were the footprints are, but I am the one who has to put my hands on them and point them out. I didn't do this by myself - there has been a spirit guiding me from the beginning - ever since Duane walked into the door and said "I'm Home". I bolted straight up in bed - it was only a dream. I am the only one who has all of that as it existed in 1971. It is very large and not on a map. I saw one someone posted but it was NOT accurate. I had to piece this thing together to do what I did - but I have it and others can only come close unless they have the OLD maps. I went to special efforts to acquire this - because Duane told me a about all of the pipeline and the towers and the power lines and how they intersected. I am the one who told Knoss this - he did not invent that one. Each and every intersection Duane told me was there - where they parallel was also there. Everything I told in the very beginning - thing I could NOT know and things JT and others TOLD me did NOT exist. THAT I was making it up. NONE of what Knoss says is true and he knows it. NO ONE can even get a sensible train of thought going or really try to pull things together, because Knoss just keeps on MAKING his Stuff up and he is involving me and Duane. Knoss did NOT know Weber and he never met him unless it was in prison or thru something else Duane and his lady were known to participate in.
