Maybe I am STUPID, but the co-pilot was telling what he could see from the RIGHT side of the plane not the left. We were specific on this during our phone conversation prior to 2004 and prior to his Accident. I think this is important. We all know how trauma and time clouds our thinking. The bump came right about this same time....which you guys have already indicated that meant Cooper had left. The co-pilots siting and the bump happen in seconds. (it could be the bump is what made the co-pilot look out of the window). There was a reason he took his eyes off the control panel. Ask him! The plane had not approached Portland as they made a easterly turn just below the VOR (this is the siting in REAL time) and the co-pilot mentioned the flight went between Vancouver and that other community East of there. East of Gresham was mentioned after his claimed of the river crossing and then he mentions I-5.. The seconds or timing you guys have used make a lot of difference, but NO one seems to care about the relay times of transmissions. One needs to use this if you really want to solve this. Recording time versus Real Time. Carr did not give the co-ordinates and he did not mention the co-pilots seating position. What I have said for yrs but NO one listens! Maybe Carr was NOT allowed to give the Co-ordinates. ALL of the sitings - are EAST not WEST. The sitings come down from Amboy down thru the Orchards area and then go toward Portland. but NOT on the WEST side of Portland. Interview the witnesses yourselves! The few that are still alive. You speak of pilots being required to have fingerprint cards. Weber was NOT a pilot and did not have a passport. What was the date of YOUR induction was it 1941 or 1942? Please clarify you age in 1941 and 1942 and your military status on those dates! Validate your claim then you can tell me to lay off. Are you over 84? I didn't think so! We are saying the same thing. I did not know what emery cloths were used for nor what they were made of - but, brought them up because of the possibility they could be linked to this titanium found on the tie. I have provided Duane's work history (what was earned with his SS number and reported to the government). Interlock Nut and Bolt was during the last yr before the crime. Did they use Titanium? I have NO idea what Weber did in that place - he never told me. I have NO idea what facilities he may have had contact with in regards to this employment. I do know he also worked at nights at the Land of the Midnight Sun in the kitchen and he helped a car collector with odd jobs to pick up extra money. He & his wife cleaned out old houses for the junk they took out to sell. Duane was a thief - maybe he stole that cheap tie. Duane was broke that yr - maybe he bought it at a garage sale or flea market. How titanium got on the tie - will never be known. It does seem the best possible prints the FBI could have gotten would have been off of that clip and the two things one pinches to put the tie on. Where are those prints? Exactly! Himmelsbach has stated there were "58 plus latent prints" - that may have belonged to Cooper and others. These prints were so smudged and damaged they have not been able to match them to anyone on the plane. I will re-interate one more time - you guys need to ACTUAL find out when the Navy and Army started to do fingerprint and find out how long it took them to actually implement this. The national fingerprint database was very flawed in the beginning regarding criminals and the history of fingerprints with the armed service is a different animal. Bet Matt could provide some information on this...come on Matt lets see how good you are. This is one subject we have NOT explored with someone who is actually in the KNOW. Military fingerprints. What about covert groups - were they printed (the soldier of fortune characters). Where they NOT provided with special treatment? What has NEVER been discussed is HOW or WHY Cooper could spend several hours on that plane and not leave any legible fingerprints. What has the FBI not told about Cooper? What strange thing did he do that only they would know about? Did they think he might have a nervous habit with his fingers? Did they note he spent a lot of time with his hands in his pocket for some reason and seemed to be making odd movements in the pocket or jacket? Obviously they noted he was very careful about what he touched! Take the matches - he touched them after Tina lit his smoke - so he took them. I discussed a book of matches with Himmelsbach during the first yr. I was talking to him. I told him about the things in the drawer. I told him about the match book and what color it was and that it had something green on it with a faded blue cover. I told him what Duane told me about the match book and how upset he got with me...ordered me NOT to do anything with the things in that drawer. Well, after he died and those things were just junk to me so out they went. The piece of chute I sold at a garage sale and did not know what it was until the man told me it was part of a chute harness...I didn't get it even then. The Book of matches was gone almost immediately as trash. The piece of plexiglass and Mickey I still have. I thought it was endearing he had kept a toy and for what reason I do not know. Now this sound like BK - right! I did NOT and still do NOT know how emory cloths could have been used - ALL guess work. The kind of guess work that solves crimes. The FACT Duane stated the reason for use of emory cloths and that he used emory cloths - is TRUE. What do they have to do with D.B.Cooper? Hell, your guess is as good as mine! I had pushed the emory cloths out of my mind until a substance was found on the tie that was NOT supposed to be there. What I have done using what I actually know about Weber is to suggest how these particles got on the tie. I have run things by the thread about Weber that might connect him to those particles, but received no positive responses. That is all I did was run things past the thread to share with those who may know the answers or explore the possiblities. . I forget WHY I brought up the emery cloth. It was something I put in the past, but had shared before with others. The particle found on the tie triggered my digging as deep into the past of Weber as I could and to list any possible connections such as employment. The emory cloth I thought might explain the particle - so I threw it out there. NOT as fact, but so someone could look at the possiblities of that special metal and emery cloth. I am just a dummy about many things - so all I can do is relate what I do know. NOT many WHAT ifs in the background of my life with Weber...other than I was just a clueless dummy. Remember I lived and WORKED with this man for 17 yrs. What are you referring to as code? What are you referring to as a what if scene? Be specific, Please. Yes, there are what IF's involved in trying to figure out when he may have seen his little girl. There are 2 windows and 2 windows only. The shift from one prison to the other and the Soledad visit which was NOT too far from where his parents lived at that time. These are NOT WHAT IF! THESE are windows of opportunity. I am trying to sort out any possible time windows. THERE is NO "what if" regarding Duane knowing Paperlegs. The only thing is the time frames. But Duane was known to be in WA and Or and ID during the same time frame Paperlegs was there - 1945 to 1950. Duane stated he knew Paperlegs. It is a FACT Duane was in Canon City during the time Paperlegs was there. The wife from 1962 to 1972 - has stated that Duane knew Paperlegs - the window of time was 1962 to 1964 - same place and locations as Paperlegs and his operation. The wife had pictures made in the area near - the area called IN PLANE SITE. She was with 2 other women standing around talking. They were there for 3 months - she hated it. I was with Duane in 1979 when he made a trip to Landon to see Paperlegs (I only knew the name Richard Peterson). I did not meet the man - but I read the name on the card. Duane said he needed to make this trip alone. He just told me it was someone he used to know. You cannot compare REAL memories with the fiction. These are the memories of my life with Duane Weber - please state the what if scene. There are NO WHAT IFS regarding the times I spent with my husband and the things we did and the things he told me. When I refer to what someone else told me - NO, I don't have much to back those up other than a few recordings of some conversations and some things in writing. Please STATE YOUR SOURCE for that information. Is it stated in the FBI FILES? This is just more and more of facts versus myths. Have you spoke to the stewardess yourself about the tie? What are your souces? Are you taking a note from another poster or a book written by someone one with an agenda and subject? Remember this - What often gets into a book is not always FACT! I know that and anyone who has ever had anything written about them multiple times will attest to this fact - things get changed by the author and twisted. Then you have the perception of the reader. Myth versus FACT! WHAT is it? I do realize you have the availability of many sources the normal "Jo" on the street does NOT have, but please identify your source on such an important "fact"? Is it fact or simply repetitions of a claim made by a writer. Note that not all of Himmelsbach's book is accurate, because he did NOT pen the book himself. Mr. H told me that even though he proofed the book some things got by him. He requested a few things be restated and some were and some where not. The published book has some errors and inaccuracies in it, but it is the closest as to the actually accounting we will ever get other the the FBI files.

It is on backwards because Duane was Left Handed. As Blevins pointed out - the picture of Duane needs be scanned using a higher Jpeg, but this thread cannot handle that. I offered to have it put on a disk and mail it to anyone who could do this - NO VOLUNTEERS. Until one of you are brave enough to do this - then DO NOT bash the low grade pic in the thread. I did scan it at a higher grade in my computer and you can see the GOLD edge and that the bar runs under the jacket lapel. Hey who ever decides to take on this mission needs to get a high grade pic of the Cooper tie. Until that is done and compared to higher grade pic of Duane with the tie - DON't knock it! This pic in the thread as it appears - is bad - but I have compared another scan - enlarging it on my computer and you see gold. You have absolutely NO idea what I am talking about. It was cloth. Also the ONLY nervous habit Duane WEBER had in the early yrs of our marriage was his constantly using his eyes watching everyone and every corner... afraid someone else would walk up to him and call him John again as happened in Mobile, Al when Tommy called out to him in the Bel Air Mall. I spoke to him about this habit when we moved to Virginia Bch. He stopped doing it - he realized he had actually become the man he wanted to be....and this is when he contacted his sister for the first time and let her know where we were. She thought I was the former wife of the John Collins days...but I would not know this until 2004 when I met the sister in CA before she died. She was please I was NOT the woman she thought I was. Duane would call his sister from a pay phone at Christmas, but never gave her a number or an address until we were in VA. Bch and he felt safe. We had bought a house and he had applied for a VA, but denied, of course. I think this was what SET him free from the past. That Christmas he sent his sis a letter, but NO pictures. I told him to pick up the phone and call her. He was the happiest I had ever seen him and he actually cried that day. I did not know what his estrangement from his family was. Even when I contacted the sister and the brother before Duane died in the hospital - they thought I WAS THAT OTHER WOMAN. The sister did NOT believe I was not that other woman until she saw me with her own eyes in the hospital. She was so afraid - I was that woman and she wanted to bury the past. She had sent me a letter pleading with me to leave the past in the past. When I had the opportunity to meet the brother in 2004 with my new husband - the sister had a heart attack as we sat down to dinner. As we were finishing dinner is when the call came into John (Duane's brother who lived in CA and whose home we were at) that the sister was in the hospital. John and I did NOT get to have our private conversation that evening - things the sister had told him about Duane and the secrets they shared. We followed John and his wife to the hospital and I asked if she might not like to meet me. She looked up at me and then she smiled - you aren't the woman he was with before. I was as kind as I could and took her hand in my hand and told her - "I have told you on the phone I wasn't that woman. I wanted you to see me with your own eyes so you would know who I am and that Duane and I spent 17 yrs together - he did change and he became a good man" I am not sure of my exact word to her - but she gripped my hand and smiled and said she was GLAD, She survived that heart attack - but, she was so upset by whatever it was that John was going to share with me that evening. Now John and the sister have taken the secret to their deaths. Some files were left ,but I am not allowed access to these family files and journals. This one person knows not what she holds of the past and is young and has no interest in persueing the past...nor allowing anyone access to those old files. Some journals and some floppys...I even offered to pay for the equipment to convert the floppies. So much could be in what John left behind and in what the sister left behind, but I do not even know where the sister was buried. Her son took her far from Ca before she died. Except "emory cloth" isn't typically used to remove fingerprints. Think of it more like sandpaper for metal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emery_cloth For fingerprints, just about any cotton cloth, a typical handkerchief for instance, would be just fine and not arouse suspicion as being something "different." It would have been poor strategy to take them onboard the aircraft since leaving one behind would be a clue, whereas if he left a handkerchief behind it would be fairly normal and could have belonged to anyone. There are some newer fabrics today (microfiber) that might be substantially more effective, but those wouldn't have existed at the time. He was NOT using the cloth to WIPE his fingerprints, but to actually attack his own fingertips in an effort to make any print he might leave - unidentifiable. I realize with the new equipment they have today - even a particial print can make an identification. Yes, he could have used a fine emory board, but that would have been obvious to others. With the very fine jewelers grade emory cloth he was able to rub his fingers while in his pockets or just inside of his jacket at the chest. Perhaps Tina noticed such a movement and thought it was a tissue or hankerchief. In fact it would be easy to conceal this emory cloth inside of a hankerchief and no one would known what he was doing. Some of you are discounting this WAY too quickly and without understanding that I am not talking about a polishing cloth, but jeweler's emery cloth - an extremely fine fine emery intergrated with a cloth that was soft, but tacky to the fingers. Since I touched them yrs ago that is what I remember - a tacky feel...like soft rubber but slipperyand yet smooth and soft..but you could feel a slight grit - just like moving you hands over a very very fine emery board. I have not felt well enough to get out and go see a jeweler who makes jewelry - that is a 68 mile round trip in pretty fast traffic. I have not been leaving the house except when I have too, plus I also have been having car problems. So, for the time being I will depend on my memory of what I saw and held in my hands. I just got an email with a question I never thought about. What the Hell are Emory Cloths. I never questioned what they were. He had them in his pants and jackets when we got married, but I didn't see them again until he retired and opened the Peddler Shoppe, Usually they were about 2.5 X 5 and when you rubbed them between your fingers and your thumb - you fingers felt like silk. I am assuming it was a special (magic) cloth

Start with John C. Weber in CA and WA., his connections to Boeing. Tacoma property records along with Puyallup along with the names of Eunice and Stan Gilliam. I felt I had heard that name before. If his Grand-daughter has all of the old records Eunice kept there should be a file on the name under which they purchased some commercial property. I will lay odds the name John C. Weber will be there and perhaps the names of Claudean John Weber and his wife Lorraine Beecher - she had relatives by the name of Wenz or Wentz in the WA area. Wonder what Eunice's maiden name was? So many questions and I don't know how to make communications with these individuals to see what might be there. There is a guy in this forum who lives or did live in the Puyallup area - perhaps he can help! Hope he is still reading this thread - I could use his help. He tells me about some nice homes on a island - but I did not see them. This was when he spoke of Issaquah and I only just found it was near Seattle - didn't know it was that close to Seattle till this very moment. Yes, I am looking at a map and trying to remember the things he said on that trip as we approached Seattle. This thing about Puyallup had my mind traveling back in time - all of those yrs and remembering the things he showed me - just like when my father showed me things on trips we made every yr to explore America. This quiet time on the thread has allowed me time to relax and pull back. (To remember instead of having to deal with all of the negatives). There was a bridge that had been destroyed in a storm - before we went out to WA in 1979. It had nice homes on it. He knew someone who lived there because the President of the company we worked for whose nickname was MAC was living on that island and had to take ferry to the main land. This was told to another party many yrs ago and he adapted MAC as his code name for McCoy! Needless to say Mac was an executive with a major company in Seattle and when Duane was talking about Seattle with him and mentioned the bridge - this manager wanted to know how he knew so much about WA. Duane did say he had worked there as young man and kept up with the area in the news. Since Duane was an ex-con - he certainly couldn't tell him he was a resident of McNeil...

Hey 377, have you heard anything from Louie and Bruce? Really curious about their outing provided it got to happen today. Hope Bruce doesn't over do it - he is still recuperating. I am sure when he gets in he will be wiped out, but sure hope he posts something tomorrow about their excursion to Amboy. The Tenn song writer called me last wk, but not sure I like his ideas about a song. The tune reminded me of "Up a Creek without a Paddle". Perhaps that is why he can't get that tune out of his head. I think a Cooper song should be more like a SAD ballad that tells a story. Since it is for charity I don't care what he does with it. Don't think he is pointing a finger at any suspect - it will just be another Cooper Song. I think it should be something like: Live or Die I don't Care Just want to do the BIG ONE The Guys will know it was Me. Jumping out of a 727 just to prove I could do it. This Boy wants to make Good. Yea, Cooper was really a very sad man and with many reasons to be sad. He was 47 and spent most of his adult life in prison. He had hardly worked that yr and his wife left him. He just found out he had the same disease his mother died of and knew what horrors she went threw after he got out SanQuentin. His father died while he was in prison and his mother died shortly after he was released. Remember when I was battling Jerry Thomas - Quade knew I was tough enough to take it. This says something for the state of mind the readers felt. I was not basing my postings and claims on the hearsay of someone else - but, on what I heard and was told and knew about Duane Weber. I was tested on this thread. JT and others kept calling me out, but I stood my ground. My story stayed consist on the whole. Remember the names JT called me? Remember the threats he made? Remember his trip to FL? I do. I had to stand my ground and NO one had my back. It was up to me. I had to call local law enforcement regarding JT's threats when he said he was coming to my home. With other posters it became very obvious to anyone with even limited knowledge of the Cooper story that Knoss was fabricating things as he went along. The postings were loosing all contact with reality and NOT grounded. I look back over the yrs and wonder how I have survived for 17 yrs now. How I have survived fighting the FBI, posters, other Cooper wannabes, the negatives, the mean and hurtful things, being called a liar and fantasy story teller over and over and over. Reviews of the posting I made - I tried NOT to involve others and the stories were consistent. I did fall into some deep holes and played with some of the theories. That was why I was here - to learn all I could about the jump and the possibilities - things the FBI did not share with the public. This thread has been a vehicle for several of the authors of books, introduction of suspects, internet pages, news articles, research regarding Cooper (even the FBI's own official site) and one of their own but, I was here for only one reason - TO FIND THE TRUTH. Some of the posters intimidated me or made fun of me and tried to trick me and I have been called a lot of "names" over the yrs. The foot prints have been there all along and the FBI refused for whatever reason they chose to offer - to investigate. I have mentioned Duane's family connections to WA and the fact his brother owned property in Tacoma with another person. That John had Boeing connections and his partner had Boeing connections. Duane did spend a lot of time in WA and the FBI refused to acknowledge this - but, WHY? We have mentioned other family connections to WA and Duane's connections to Johnny Carson's old side kick when he was in The Dalles. NO one listened and the FBI didn't care. Agent Carr made his run for fame and put the Cooper Comics into the FBI site (without giving credit for that "lead" to the DZ). I put papers in Carr's hands he did absolutely NOTHING with, other than to ignore them. The refusal of the FBI to provide me with the Jefferson file until all of the back-up papers had been destroyed and then to declare his background in the thread without these supporting papers. This was only done AFTER the actual JEFFERSON file had been destroyed - WHY. Think about it for a while. When Jefferson released John Collins - they DID not know he was Duane L. Weber nor did his wife and family of the day. What connection did Duane Weber or John Collins have to a man in N.Orleans who was later found DEAD - supposedly by his own hand. Why did 2 of the stepchildren with Duane and his wife in N. Orleans tell me about this man? I don't know, but I could make a lot of guesses or was it just another string of co-incidences in the life of Duane Weber. Can I prove any of this? Was the young man I met in N.Orleans with the baby face also a victim...was his name Dale? Well, You'll Never Know If You Don't Know Now!
