That seems like a lot of work for the people that run a free forum if you ask me. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

This would be cool. Something like what eBay dose. A customer feed back or scoring system. I guess it wouldn't be third party though Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

Have it sent to your local DZ. Im just telling you what I would be willing to do on the internet, To protect myself as a buyer Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

Not that it will make you feel any better. Look what this guy went threw. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3442865;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread I bought a rig when I first started. No problems. I suggest having the seller send the gear to your rigger for inspection before paying. If they are not willing to do so, then dont buy it. IMO Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

TSA security to jump from large airplanes Changes
ozzy13 replied to ozzy13's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Come February, we may have to go through TSA security to jump from large airplanes. This could be a bad thing if it passes. Please take a moment to read the following letter and then submit a comment to the FAA starting with this link: http://www.aopa.org/advocacy/gasecurity/submit.html The link will take you to http://www.regulations.gov/fdmspubli...=TSA-2008-0021 where you can leave your comments. TSA want to implement a rule that will make it very difficult to skydive out of any larger aircraft, like Casa's, DC-3, Caribous, C-130's, anything over 12500lbs. If this rule (Docket No. TSA-2008-0021) goes into effect, then every time we jump out of a larger aircraft in the USA, we would basically be required to go through the same security checks as you would for any charter or scheduled flight anywhere else in the USA. That means, security screening, passenger security checks, matching names with 'no-fly lists' and so on. And we would have to do that for EVERY load, not just people in general or a Boogie in general. The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) has a good lot of information with step by step instructions on how to comment on it. They even provide some information on some of the arguements to use. Bascially this wil make general aviation more difficult for a lot of people, it is unnecessary intrusion into our lives, and the gain is very little, given that general aviation has not been involved in any acts of terrorism, including 9/11 itself. Go to AOPA's page http://www.aopa.org/advocacy/gasecurity/submit.html and follow the steps. At the bottom of that page are some other helpful links. Please write - it is important for the future of skydiving! Never give the gates up and always trust your rears! -
I think what they are talking about is sometimes people dont pass levels. ( ex. don't pull at correct altitude ) So they would have to redo that level to make sure that they can maintain alt. awareness. THis is just one example why you would have to repeat a level. It costs the same as the first time you attempted that level. I really would not worry about that at all. It does not happen to everyone. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

Well that statment is not true. With todays tectnoligy you can get a reseve over your head from 400 ft In the first one two base jumper cut away from 100ft and land on reserves. If they can do it from a 100ft . Your statement is CLEARLY false http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSd_EbVUNAg And here is a guy under a base canopy with a super low pull. Watch how fast it opens. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwDdTvUncwM&feature=related Again I DONT agree with the demo. But to say what you are saying is just not true!!! I just want to add to this. If Red bull guys want to do this go ahead. I dont think anyone is saying they dont have the skills. Just because its been done does not mean its smart. My understanding of this situation is that USPA does not what to be part off it. There are way to many risks. They would have to insure the event because they sanction it. Could you Imagine the law suits that could occur if something went wrong. This would affect USPA as a whole. Nobody is saying they cant do it. They are just saying they don't want to be apart of it. Their is a difference. I agree with USPA's decision on this. As one of the BOD's said in the other threads about this. If they want to do it so bad, Quit USPA for a day. Go do the jump and then Join USPA again. Why put the whole community at risk for a corporate sponsor!!! My 2 cents Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
-
Just so you know. They requested to EXIT from 2000ft. and deploy BY 400ft. Also using wing suits!!! Not that makes much difference in my opinion. I just wanted you to have all the facts This has been discussed in the forum for months Right here http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=3389937;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25; And here http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=3360755;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25; Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

OK thanks I just wanted to see what was out there. I have Platinum 8 And I'm going to upgrade to 9 Pro. I find that Window movie maker to be the easiest to use when doing basic editing. Vegas is a little more difficult to use. Also the laptop i ordered has Vista ultimate 64 bit and the vegas is 32 bit. They say it will work. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
