    don't feel too bad about not PLFing. It gets drilled into your head all the time, but you always *think* you can stand it up and be fine. My level 1 I flared too high, and level 8 I landed a canopy with a partially deflated end cell and end up doing a nice little faceplant

    Truer words have never been spoken I'm in the same boat, tommy-boy plan and graduating in december, just shy of 7 years. I commute 1.5hrs each way to school 3 days a week, so getting there on time (or at all) is VERY difficult. I even changed my major this semester so I could drop a class that was just too much of a headache for me to deal with this last semester

    I feel you Jean. I've been stuck inside all day long. There was way too much water for me to attempt to head to huntsville for classes. So i've instead spent the day sitting around the house... some without power (which is REALLY boring!)

    0:0:0 I was stuck inside for work-related training all day saturday, so no jumps. But I did make it out to the DZ that night for the festivities. Hopefully next weekend will fare better.

    I've never given blood, though i'm not sure they will even let me due to my low body weight. I'm not even sure what blood type I am.

    i've lived in houston my whole life... i've never seen real snow, at least not in any amount. There's been a couple of times around here we've gotten some flakes, but nothing on the ground. The only thing i've seen on the ground was in oklahoma and was hard ass ice, not snow.

    usually after drinking alot of beer i have some sort of hangover... Usually it is either a splitting headache or an upset stomach... sometimes both. I usually don't get hangovers off liquor though... unless i have LOTS of it and am mixing different kinds around... always room for disaster.

    I have a friend of mine who broke her nose at a bar. She was sloshed, went into the bathroom.. stumbled and fell, hit her nose on the stall door and fractured her nose in 3 places.

    i blew off all my school work this weekend to jump and party saturday, then laid in bed half the day sunday before going to jump and drink more beer. This morning I had to wing a presentation in one of my banking classes, and then found out I had a test in my economics class an hour later. I definately picked the better weekend activity

    Uh, what kind of meal was it that puts it in the HUMP catagory? fine! maybe not that good... but that fajitas and crawfish sausage was quite tasty. :3:

    I only did a single tandem before AFF... nearly 2 years before my AFF Level 1 jump. I personally think the first tandem is great for the initial experience of a dive without having the ultimate responsibilities of the dive. But once the ride to altitude, exit, freefall, and being under canopy all have been experienced once, I see no real reason to do anymore tandems if you were semi-comfortable with all of that and didn't completely freak out.

    :3:1 We got a pilot for friday afternoon, so the weekend started a little early. Got AFF Level 7 in that day and passed it so i'm off needing an instructor. Had to work all day saturday, but made it out after the beer light had been turned on . Sunday I was able to get my first 2 coached jumps in.

    welcome to the board Willay! Now that there are 3-4 of us that have gotten to our coach jump portion of AFF... we're going to be doing the packing class here soon. Hit me up about it and we'll figure out a good day to get it done.

    congrats! I finished my Level 7 on Friday and it was great. Hopefully i can get a couple of coach jumps in this weekend.

    i used to wash it at least once a week... but between a slammed last semester at school, work, and taking up skydiving... it hasn't gotten washed in about 2.5 months.

    0:1:0 I only got my level 6 done this weekend was on wind-hold for 8.5 hours saturday before i got that jump in, and weather was crap most of the day sunday so I couldn't get onto a load. I did fly right-chair in the otter as an observer sunday though. Not alot of jumping, but it was an educational weekend as I had alot of down-time to pick brains, observe, and get educated by some of the other jumpers. (Got to learn alot about spotting) I also got owned by the kite while everybody was on wind hold... 110-pound me + 30sqft parachute kite + over 25mph gusts = me getting drug across the landing area

    i start getting cold on windy 75-degree days... i am SO a summer person! It's going to be a bitter winter... i'll have to find me some good warm/thin/flexible clothes for jumping. And probably a full-face helmet.
