  1. Southern texas too I did my tandem in the middle of december and it was not bad at all... so I figure as long as the winds are good, i'm a go for jumping.
  2. I'm a full time banking/finance student in my last semester. Also working part time as a Personal Banker. Still don't really know what i'll be doing after I graduate.
  3. aww kittah aww. Very nice looking cubs, I definately want one!
  4. 0:6:mass I did my last 2 student coached jumps saturday, then on sunday i got in 3 solos and an awesome check-dive with turtle and chris. beer owed for several things with more to come next weekend.
  5. you can also come up under the parachute in the water. There is still air there to breath. You'll get it knocked out next time i'm sure
  6. It's really not too bad. You're small like me, so you would've just slipped right out of the harness like I did. I loosened up the straps a hair and then hopped in, slid right out of the harness and then just swam forwards under water to escape the canopy... Steve and Jeff couldn't catch up with me to get the canopy over my head
  7. I'm currently waiting for a package from australia, and one from less than 100 miles away... i'm not sure which one i'll get first.
  8. Brit - Nothing but good times in the short time i've known you. I hate to see you leave, but wish you all the best in norcal. I'll be out tonight to see you off. And wee, I'll get to see Amanduh again... it's been a few months
  9. what he said. We have the waiver for if the wind is coming out of a certain direction... but I know that anything more than about 14-15mph will mean me landing backwards under the student canopy. I also watch the more experienced jumpers, when I see them decide to stop jumping because of the winds and/or turbulence... I tend to follow suit.
  10. The USPA A License Proficiency Card has a place only for a 3500' clear & pull. The USPA A License Progression Card has sign offs for a 5500' and a 3500' clear & pull. It just depends which card your DZ's program and instructors prefer to use.
  11. no. but then again... i'm 24 and own nothing... so there wouldn't be a whole lot to put in there.

Looks like alot of action in Texas. I saw houston and san antonio in the news clips
  13. Ditto. The first episode was pretty cool, then it got kinda slow and a little boring and lost me a little bit. Now after this week's episode I got alot more interested in it. It has been added into my weekly list of tv shows to watch, next to lost and gray's anatomy.
  14. finish it girl. I'm having similar difficulties in my last semester of getting my bachelors. Everyday I have to struggle to get to class, and i am last-minuting EVERYTHING. But I know if I don't finish it... I will kick myself in the ass for a very long time.
  15. I had 3 different counselors between 2 schools... none of them knew what in the world they were talking about and had my schedules and courseloads planned out stupidly with a bunch of extra classes I didn't need. I ended up just having to take it upon myself to get out a catalog and figure it all up, and then confirmed it all with the dept chair's secretary.
  16. troof! That's all I'm ever thinking about..
  17. Anytime girl. Denny's was kick ass... plus, I was STARVING, so it tasted all that much better!
  18. It was great to meet the two of you guys this weekend. I picked you up from the south end of the runway on sunday At least you guys finally made one landing on the DZ this weekend
  19. 0:4:0 4 rockin' coached jumps. and also did the wet water training for the B-license requirement. turned out to be a productive weekend despite the clouds and winds.
  20. I did some pretty dumb stuff as well. Lots of fire, gasoline, explosives. Homemade gunpowder, thermite, napalm. Set a couple of old run-down abandoned buildings on fire, set the woods on fire numerous times. My buddy had a sloped concrete pathway that we would pour gasoline down (about 100 feet long), light it on fire, and then haul ass through it on rollerblades, bicycles, skateboards, etc... We constantly had no leg hair. Melting plastic also NEVER got old... many scars and burns from that. The fully automatic BB gun was fun for a while, as were the pellet guns, bow and arrows, blowguns, machetes, throwing knives, ninja-stars, etc. Never any broken bones or ER visits (knock on wood), but tetanus shots were a very common thing in my childhood. We also once jumped off the top of a building (one of the abandoned ones we later burnt down) into a large pile of pine-needs/sticks/etc... one stick decided to puncture into the side of my ankle and got all infected and swole up to about twice its normal size... that was about as bad as it got. As you can imagine... I spent many childhood summers and weekends stuck at the house grounded... *sigh* Just think what would've happened if we didn't have parents that cared.
  21. Your treat? Suuuure. j/k. Congrats girl, sounds like things are working out great for you! Celebration time tomorrow!
