While sleeping over at the DZ when I was a student (not long ago) I had a dream where I couldn't pull the PC from the BOC. I woke up just before impact, got dressed, walked to manifest, and signed up for an AFF skydive. It was just a dream. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Just another newbie doing a down winder, or is he?

I can just hear the instructor now. "Tiger, not everyone is meant to be a skydiver. Have you thought about taking up golf?" "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch -
For some people, having even one kid is the worst thing they can do for the future of the human race. For some people, having no kids is the worst thing they can do for the future of the human race. I believe that marriage is harder today than yesterday because roles are less defined, people have less long term planning (who do I want to be, where do I want to be, etc...), and culture (get what I want when I want it). PS: I'm not married and have never been married so my opinion is worth ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Right there with you. If I flip a coin will it land heads or tails? I bet 25% say heads, 25% say tails, and 50% will comment that it could land on its side, it could be a two headed coin, how am I flipping it, where am I flipping it, etc... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

We played a different variation. You tossed a ball into the air, someone grabbed it (became the queer), everyone else smeared the queer, the ball was released, repeat. No winner, no loser, just the satisfaction that you lasted a long time as the queer or that you smeared the queer. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

The question stated that crashing the car would save the kid (maybe it wouldn't stop the train but it would save the kid). So just answer, crash car and save kid or don't crash car and don't save kid. (Is it really that hard for people in SC to just answer a hypothetical question?) I would crash car and save kid. Who will jump from the highest point. Would have been fun but we were jumping onto concrete. I broke my arm but didn't tell my parents. (They found out when they were trying to take my shirt off to take a bath and I wouldn't move my arm.) Now I get to jump from planes! I rather enjoyed playing tag in the woods, in the trees, no touching the ground. Actually that was not dumb, that was fun. PS: Never walk from tree to tree without bounce testing the branches first. PPS: Never jump from tree to tree thinking I can grab that branch as I fall. (Unless you have bounce tested that branch.) "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Did the Chinese message go anything like this ... You know doctors can break your leg bones and stretch you out to make you taller. You know we have doctors. Get the message. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

It is easier to predict the future when we know the past. If you read a history book you would have been able to determine that Iraq would become like Vietnam. Guess not many people read history books (or even watch history shows). "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Some person may die for another person due to the empathy but I can not forsee a situation where everyone would. A higher degree of empathy would reduce the murders, wars, etc... (reasons to die for one another). Maybe we have to add the ability to use logic and reasoning too? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Evolution, in terms of survival of the species, would then mean the survivors and those that reproduce are those that like painful relations. I wonder what those consequences would be??? I was just thinking that and edited my post. I'm sticking with all humans have a high degree of empathy for other humans. Can't stop reproduction and all changes appear to have possibly unwanted side effects. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

How about conception not occur as a possible outcome from sexual relations? Instead conception occurs during painful relations. People that want the pleasure of a child will accept the pain to conceive one. (The problem with this is that some people find pleasure in pain.) I think the idea of stopping unwanted pregnancies is valid. I think the idea of stopping pregnancies is another issue. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

I can see only one way to protect our children. We must kill them all. We must kill them all for their own protection. That way they can't get hurt. Anyone else remember the days of "Smear the Queer". "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

I would love to sit down and throw crap back and forth with you and John, I reckon it would be fucking hillarious.. Oh and Butters, YOU HAVE NO CLUE Have no clue? I stated that the button is always perfect so that we could rid ourselves of defining who is in a group and base our decision solely on the group itself. I was trying to determine which group would you choose amongst the other groups as more evil (bad) and thus remove the more evil (bad) group. Don't tell me that isn't realistic because the question iteself isn't realistic. "Of two evils we must always choose the least." Thomas a Kempis (1380 - 1471) "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

That reminds me of the fat, heavy couple sharing one motorcycle. You could just barely see the poor little kid wedged in between. Remember that one? You need to find that picture and post it! "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Ok, ok, ok. Have we really reached a point in human history where we refuse to define groups such as child molesters, terrorists, etc... as bad? I am not saying who is or isn't a child molester, terrorist, etc... I am saying that child molesters, terrorists, etc.. are bad and I would wipe them out. Pretend that the button will distinguish perfectly who is or is not one of the group that you choose to wipe out. Which group would you wipe out? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Thought I would add another picture. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

It does not matter if they are guilty or innocent as long as it is legal for their to be a difference by definition. It isn't like you are wiping out a good group. So you would not have accepted the role of wiping out the Nazis? (Think of all the lives you would have saved.) "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

I would give humans a high degree of empathy towards other humans. PS: From the posts so far I think I should have started this thread in Bonfire. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Murder is murder no matter the motivation. Execution: A putting to death especially as a legal penalty. Murder: The crime of unlawfully killing a person especially with malice aforethought. A murder is always a murder but an execution is not always a murder. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Ok, but how would you change it and why? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

the human race and could change one thing, what would it be and why? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Once again, the scenario is hypothetical. I am not defining (nor will I define) the individuals that would be identified as terrorists. I am simply making the statement that terrorism is not good and the world would be better (at least temporarily) without it. Thus, I picked the terrorists. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
-
The proposed situation is hypothetical. It does not take into account individual circumstances (and neither did I in my decision). I agree, if I pushed the button I wouldn't be any better but I would create a better place temporarily. I find it hard to compare the solution you mention with the current scenario. Can you expand on the correlation between the two? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Some people are wrong or right (at least to some degree). If you believe no one is wrong or right (at least to some degree), then you lack logic and reasoning. Not everyone and everything is equal. If you believe everyone and everything is equal, then you lack logic and reasoning. Now that we got that out of the way... How about each month be its own history month. In January we could learn about all things that happened in January, in February we would learn about all the things that happened in February, ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
