I believe it would be best for both sides to start listening and stop talking. The older I get, the more I appreciate the talent of many hip-hop artists, including Eminem. Second that. I hated it when I was younger. Not so much now. While rapping may seem like a brain-dead talent, it does take a lot of skill, more so than most of us have. It takes a lot of skill to be a pickpocket, does that mean we should appreciate pickpockets too? Actually yes we should. Maybe there is someone out there who isn't good at anything but pickpocketing. He is unable to get off the street and make a better life for himslef and feed his children unless he steals from those with much more money who haven't learned how to protect it yet. Should he let his children suffer so he doesn't have to steal? Or should he steal to let his children eat? At least he's not sitting on the side of the road begging for money, and working on a skill which he can continue doing for a while. First, he shouldn't have children. Second, what if someone isn't good at anything but torturing people? By your logic we should appreciate them also. Alot of music today is actually just marketing. Some rap takes talent, some of it doesn't (just like everything else).
