  2. Our Government is founded on a basic distrust of the people in charge. Checks and balances in government are really checks and balances on the selfish natures and corrupt potential of the people who rule. The comparison of our government with God's sovereignty isn't possible. By definition, God is (infinite) love, holy, and just. He is righteous by a perfect standard. He is the only one you can put your full trust in without fear of being let down. Sorry, I did not explain correctly again. I was getting at the point that rules do not matter if you do not believe the rule maker exists or you do not believe the rule maker is creating rules for your safety and happiness.   5. Satan is not in hell. His place is here on earth. God created Satan to be the most beautiful angel in heaven. Picture someone being so beautiful with the most heavenly voice, that's Satan. He was so vain, he rebelled against God so God punished him and exiled him. He's here on earth to pull people away from God, even Christians. That's his ultimate goal. That's how he gets even with God. Why did Satan rebel? (Rebellion in and of itself is not an evil action.) Whoa bro. That flew way over my head. Can you please break it down a bit for my simple mind? You do something wrong, you take credit. You do something right, God takes credit.   8. I am not saying I am perfect, I am saying that there is nothing I need to be saved from. The sin was rebellion.Satan isn't in hell. He's walking to and fro upon the earth seeking whom he may devour. Rebellion, can you be more precise? Kids rebel against their parents, I don't believe this is a good reason for parents to create Hell and send their kids there for an eternity of pain and suffering. "That looks dangerous."   11. The purpose of the Law is to show the sinner of his sinfulness. The Law is like a mirror that you look into which shows you a reflection of your soul. Paul said he didn't know what sin was before he was shown the Law. What purpose is that? It appeals to the conscience. Those who leave out the realities of hell, judgment, and punishment should be charged with malpractice just like a physician. Until a person is convinced of the sickness, they will not appreciate or appropriate the cure. The Law brings about this realization.   15. Having read many of your posts in many threads it appears as though more people are turned away by your preaching than are turned towards. If the goal is to turn more people towards than away then your preaching would be considered a disservice. I am not saying you are wrong or right about your God, I am saying you should think about changing the way you preach. (There is more to your God than judgement, Heaven, and Hell.) I'd much rather have .gov entirely out of my retirement, though... Other than saying "Neener neener it's all you own fault", what would you to about people whose investments went bad (such as investing in Enron) to prevent them from starving in the streets in old age? To those whose investments went bad, keep working. For those unable to keep working due to physical or mental limitations, a welfare system that covers that basic necessities. "That looks dangerous."   22. I don't want the government in charge of retirement. I want them to allow companies and individuals to make tax free investments to be used for retirement. As far as health care and education ... if both were run by business (the goal of a business is to maximize profits) then health care costs would continue to rise, the wealthy would receive better health care, and the wealthy would receive better education.   24. Replace Social Security with a way for individuals to make tax free investments. Against. We already have the right to bear arms. Against. Would hurt both big and small businesses. If the government expects us to balance our budgets than they should be expected to do the same. I don't think our taxes need to be reduced, I think our taxes need to be spent more appropriately.
