If your avatar is a picture of yourself, you look extremely young for the age you gave. Problem: Fundamentalists. Solution: ? IMHO, fundamentalist don't bother me much with their words (preaching, interpretations, etc) Even when their fundamentlaism sways their votes. (that is the American way ... everyone should have a voice) However, I do take exception when their fundamentalism drives them to kill. Whether that be Christianity, Judaism or islam. Solution: People are allowed to remain fundamental so long as it does not drive them to kill? I believe that fundamentalism in regards to religion (whether for or against) creates more problems than it will ever provide solutions because it does not allow for compromises. However, I have no idea of a solution to the problem and since the problem does not allow comprise I doubt that both sides would agree to the solution. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Well, since so many people seem to believe the rest of the world hates us we need to be prepared to take on the next 8 nations when they attack us. Is it just possible that no-one likes a busybody? Maybe if we stopped meddling in other nations' affairs we'd have fewer that hate us. I was just joking. I personally don't think that the rest of the world hates us any more now than they did before. A person can take out massive amounts of debt, buy a nice car, a nice house, live the good life. Eventually the debt must be repayed. America took out (and is taking out) massive amounts of debt, that rapidly progressed and maintains our society (way of life). Eventually the debt must be repayed. Similar to many other issues at hand, people know the issue exists, but would rather place their hands over their eyes and pretend it isn't there so they can maintain their way of life. In another thread someone provided a link showing that Department of Defense spending was less than Health and Human Services spending. Military spending is part of the problem, but it is not the problem. We have taken on massive amounts of debt through military spending, health and human services spending, providing aid to other nations (that has not and will not be repayed), trading with other nations, creating infrastructure for our economy, etc... Your scenario above is not meddling in their business. Telling a country what they can and can not do is meddling. Offering financial assistance is not. There is a difference between being a savior and being a war monger. The scenario I mentioned is meddling in their business, just ask the local warlords. PS: There are always going to be people who believe (no matter what) that their religion is correct and there are always going to be people who believe (not matter what) that no religion is correct. Instead of proving or disproving different religions why don't we focus on stating specific problems with religion and how to solve those problems. Here is a problem I have with religion and how to solve the problem. (Please respond if this is a possible solution people could agree upon or what problem the solution presents.) Problem: Some people feel that being preached to (for or against religion) when they did not ask to be preached to is a problem. Solution: Preach (for or against) religion only when asked. By stating the problems and attempting to find solutions we could alleviate many of the problems we have with religion while maintaining the solutions it provides. For some people it will always be a problem and for some people it will always be a solution. The best thing for everyone is to minimize the problems and maximize the solutions.
