I feel incredibly odd posting this after reading of lost children. I simply can't imagine what that must be like. My first real "date". I was in grade nine, we went to Harveys - a Canadian burger joint. I was wearing a ski jacket, because we were in Toronto and it was cold. The ski jacket had strings hanging out the side, strings you could pull to give the jacket shape. The strings had tabs on the end. So I'm walking through Harvey's carrying the tray of food, the string hooks on one of the perma-chairs, the tray goes flying, the strawberry milkshakes end up on... I think the procedures they're going through are a little overboard, but justified considering the calibre of people working for the security companies. I find it incredible that magnatometers can become unplugged and nobody notices. It blows me away that security guards simply get up and leave their post. I don't understand how they can fall asleep at their jobs. I'm deeply concerned that when the gov't takes over, they won't do a better job with staffing. Until they hire REAL people to fill those positions, I think we need to put up with the rediculous nature of the evacuations. I hope the security companies are being held financially responsible for the evacuations. That's gotta cost everyone a whole lotta money. I also don't believe any of these security issues would've prevented September 11. Despite this they're still valuable. I was arguing for these kinds of changes long ago. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

Do you have to cuttaway? I'm in the same situation. My GF moved to Cleveland 8 monthes ago. About 4 monthes ago we decided to see other people. We still talk about weekend road trips. Occaisionally, they've actually happened. She wanted me to head her way last weekend, actually. I went to SDC instead. Her opinion is that the weekend trips will end if either of us gets laid. I say why not as long as we're not seeing anyone else ...? The weird part is the complete lack of closure. We simply haven't been able to decide what event signifies the end of the relationship - or rather the point at which we really are just friends. We don't even know if that event's come and gone yet. I supose it's a weird situation, but it hasn't stopped me from dating. Too much information? LOL _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

The only issue you have with bigger reserves then main is the comfortability of having two canopies out. Drastically different canopies simply do not handle well when you've got two out, and the reserve is signicantly bigger. There hasn't been a lot of testing with this scenario. One test was actually done just a few weeks ago. I've said that two out doesn't work well when the reserve is significantly bigger, but I'm not going to qualify what "significantly bigger" means. Some other people will chime in here, but I don't think your 170 is significantly bigger then the 150. The test used a 107 stiletto and a 170 reserve I think... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

I literally am a brewmaster. One of the perks of formerly working for Molson. In fact, this picture is me, a tandem instructor, and the Brewmaster from the Molson Brewery at the Air Canada Center is on the left. Actually, even the tandem instructor worked for Molson. I went through the training but worked in IT. Egads that was a good job... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

Animal Communication. Aparently I had deep philisophical conversations with animals in my previous life. Currently, I find my fish pretty lame conversationalists. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

In Kalends demo saturday, he showed that not only is the 45 degree theory wrong, it's impossible. In his simulations, the jumpers NEVER got to a 45 degree angle from the plane. On a no wind day they never got much past 30 degrees. In moderate winds they went to 28 degrees. They simply fell off too quickly. And yes, my brain still hurts. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

We've all got our weird hangups. I just loosen my chest strap until the tension comes off it. This usually means there's a good 4 or 5 inches extra beyond the buckle. The hangup I had for a while was bringing my slider down over my toggles. I was always paranoid that it'd get stuck over the toggles. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

!?!?!?! Most of us go through years of skydiving without ever having one plane emergency. You had three in the same plane and didn't think something was wrong? Still, glad you're ok. ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

Where are the alternatives to Pro packing???
AndyMan replied to PhillyKev's topic in Gear and Rigging
The aerodyne video shows a standard propack, with rolling the nose inwards, and a technique to properly flake the stabalizer. I found it useful becuase it also showed how to do a "4 line" line check. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999 -
