  4. The chopper will probably be between 40 and 60 this year... it was 40 last year but chopper dude lost money. the bi-plane was 50, another 50 if you want a ride and pics. The bombers are 300, or a 1:10 raffle for 30. I think everything else is standard price. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

  7. Yeah, typo. I hate laptop keyboards.... I'm looking forward to the A6. It wouldn't have been my first choice, but it is real nice. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  8. If you want to buy a Safire, Skydive Chicago has a lot of them for sale. Check it out here: http://www.skydivechicago.com/ActiveWear/canopies.htm Stiletto's are very unstable at light wingloadings. They dont' handle turbulence at all. I do not recomend anyone buy a stiletto until they're able to properly load it. Another good choice might be the Sabre2, but these are nearly imposible to find used. If you're on a budget, check out the Hornet from PISA. You can get one for about $800 because of the exchange rate. 9. I'm currently driving a slightly older Honda Prelude. It looks great and takes me to ludicrous speeds, so it's all good. I'm waiting on an Audio A6. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  10. I did, and it worked well twice - I've gotten two jobs with it on there. It's a good icebreaker. I've never had any negative issues from it. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

  13. Your questions are perfectly acceptable. That's why this group is here. If you're not understanding, we must not be explaining properly. Why don't you take a look at Kallend's webpage here: http://www.iit.edu/~kallend/skydive/#resources Wander through the powerpoint presentation.... read the charts. If you're real adventurous, download and play with his freefall simulations. Maybe that will help... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

  15. The short answer is the vertical separation is meaningless. One cuttaway, a snivel, a high or a low pull can redule vertical separation to zero. So again - vertical separation is meaningless. Horizontal separation is a lot harder to screw up. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

  17. The worse I ever saw was this one girl at Aerohio. She was very indecisive about going on the ground. Her friend was preasuring her into it - "C'mon - we said we'd do i togeather". Anyways, she managed to get into the plane, and plane managed to taxi to the end of the runway. As the otter was warming up the turbines at the end of the runway she just started to go nuts. She literally ran to the door, was trying to open it to get out. Then she had a moment, changed her mind... decided she COULD do this, then walked back to her seat. (light load) Then she changed her mind again! Insisted she could not possibly do this. She wanted off. Then she wanted to go. Off, go. Off, go. Eventually we kicked her off the plane, because we knew if she couldn't even take off with us there was no way in hell she'd jump. Her friend had a great time, and she was upset we wouldn't let her go. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  18. I think most of us are going to WFFC. I might stop in at Summerfest for a day or two on the way down, but I'll be spending most of the time at WFFC. WFFC or Summerfest? 19. I was on a jump this weekend at Archway. Archway spots themselves, they don't use the GPS. At 12.5 I was just starting my last-minute gear check, somebody glances out the door, frantically yells 'cut' and starts climbing out. I was in the first group. The previous load had gone to 14. I was front float. As I was hanging on to the floater bar my chest strap was blowing in the wind. I was sure I had done it up, but I wondered if I might've done something really stupid. I didn't have enough time to check, the formation left without me, me still holding onto the King Air trying to make sure my chest strap was done up. It was done up, it had only come out of the keeper. I managed to dive down to the formation, so I didn't COMPLETELY hose the jump. It whacked me in the neck all the way down... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

  21. I dunno. Do you want to be decapitated when you cuttaway your main? Think it's possible for your headphone wire to snag on a riser? Wanna bet that the wire will break before your neck does? I think the humorous part is the idea of being able to hear the tunes in freefall. 24. Carrie - You guys were excellent hosts... thanks for a fun weekend. Next time I come down I'll make sure we jump togeather. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  25. I did one at Skydive Illinois about a month ago. Skymedic did one at Chicagland two weeks ago. Fallingoman did one at Archway yesterday. They're fun. It's a bit weird not having your own rig in the airplane. You'll repeatedly find yourself doing handle checks and panicking because you don't have any. Tandems are fun - just another skydive. You don't really need to do anything special - just arch... In freefall you can do some leg turns, some tracking, etc. Two people tracking can get some serious speed going... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
