  1. Altimaster sends reps out to the bigger boogies. They were at WFFC and SDC's Winter Expo last year. They'll test your alti-3 in a test chamber, and replace the lense and strap for free. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  2. There's a very simple solution to this - a bridle extension. A six inch piece of fabric or line that runs from the bridle attachment point on your canopy to your bridle. It also makes it much easier to get the psycho packed canopy into the bag. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  3. I psycho pack my Stiletto because it's new and it's the only way I can get it in the bag. I get softer openings with the psycho pack, but normal openings are soft enough, this isn't a priority for me. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  4. That's a bit of a stretch. He does own most of the Casa's, but not even close to most of the Otters... Roger Nelson only ownes three, and Andre only ownes one Otter, I think. The Ranch has two, Aerohio has two, Eloy has a bunch, plus nearly every big DZ has at least one. I think Fayard only has three otters, right? The two blue ones and frankenOtter? _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

  6. Perfect score! WooHoo!. Put the mouse over the bottom right corner of the scoreboard. Not the corner of the screen, but the corner of the TV set.... Now when the two guys run out with the basket, click when they get to the big tuft of grass on the left. If your mouse is the same as mine, you'll get it every time. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  7. Yup, those are the most popular way. The one thing I do like about benches is that you don't need to slide up for tandems... Aparently the Arava is setup like a Casa, with side benches and ground space in the middle. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  8. I've seen panasonics do some pretty wild things to the footage on opening... I think there's a real good reason everyone buys Sony. I'd worry about damage to the internals on a hard opening... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

  10. I get 1.5 Mbps over my DSL, but I'm a mile and a half and 6 network hops from the datacenter... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  11. Every couple weeks in the summer, they'll be there in the morning. Email manifest and ask... ya gotta be proactive because it's not like the balloons hang around all day. They take off, and you might be one of the guys that has to chase them if you're on the second or third load. They don't keep comming back... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  12. There's baloon guys out at hinckley pretty frequently... not the real big balloons like WFFC, but big enough for 2 jumpers. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  13. No, because they usually never will get to 45 degrees. Watch carefully, and you'll probably find that the angle max's out at about 30 degrees. If you want to wait until 45 you'll be waiting until they land, or open. The rule of 45degrees is broken. I'm constantly surprised how many people still talk about it. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

    high speed!

My earthlink DSL gets dropped daily. Pain in the ass. I think they're trying to stop me from running servers... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  19. I know SOMEONE landed a skyboard on the side of a mountain - I saw the video. He died on the second attempt. I should've remembered that it wasn't Patrick... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  20. Wingsuits and ski's just dont' belong in the same sentense. They'd make excellent "drag inducing devices", I'd think. Apart from that, It doesn't seem that weird. Wasn't it patrick that landed a skyboard on the side of a mountain? And then he died on his second attempt? So if he's stupid enough to not think that ski's might create enough drag to kill the lift of a wingsuit, he's probably stupid enough to try it. So I'm going down for "make the jump and be cripple for life". _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  21. And you call yourself an ex-pat! if you were for real, you'd know it's spelt "Taranna". _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  22. Actually, I think it's worked pretty well. The first one he took off my hands was great - it wasn't going anywhere anyways. All parties happy. And the second? Well, there hasn't been a second. I think he's just getting cocky.... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

  24. I'll be at Chicagoland that weekend... Hopefully it will be my company's "Through your boss out of the airplane day". As for what do to in Chicago, well, you start by stopping by my downtown condo. Then you take Andy out for a beer. Or Andy takes you out for a beer... Otherwise, Navy Pier is fun. If there's a cubs game on, go to it. Navy pier is fun, but it's better later in the summer. The art galleries and museams are fun. Lunch at the top of the Hanckock tower is both affordable and fun. You don't have to pay the fee for the observation deck, either... What else? The Jazz and Blues scene is great. I can take you to some of the better clubs if you want... If you're on your own, check out "The Back Room", and "The Underground Wunderbar" if you like Jazz, or Buddy Guy's Legends on Wabash if you like Blues... The Blueman Group IS a great show. If you go, ask for tickets in the first seven rows.... Parking downtown isn't bad - but it isn't terribly cheap either. Most lots max out at atbou $18/day. Once you ditch the car you could go everywhere on foot. I never drive downtown. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  25. I've taken my rig through US customs many times... frequently on my back in airports. So far, they're the only ones who've actually come up with good jokes - like "What, you know the pilot?" I've never had a problem with rigs and customs. But my travel has been limited to North America recently. The worst case scenario with flying is that they ask you to check it. If they do, ask if there's additional insurance you can buy. You might also want to tie your reserve handle in place with a BIG, HUGE, RED, ribbon. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
