That wouldn't have ANYTHING to do with your antics wednesday night, would it....? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Yup. Personally, with canopies flying at the speeds they do now, with line as small as it is... I'd be bunched up in a fetal position, feet and knees tucked up, arms protecting my throat, hands protecting my face. That said, it's much better to avoid a colision then be in one... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Just so you understand what you're saying... your cable modem is giving 10 times faster connection then my datacenter. While I guess that it's possible, if it is the case then I'm paying WAY too much for my datacenter. ;) BTW - distance to datacenter is irrelevant with cable modems, it only plays a significant role with DSL lines. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Those numbers are faster then I'm getting on my servers in datacenters with oc-13 connectivity, which is showing 2.19 Mbps (280.3KBps) I can only presume that they're testing against some kind of proxy on your providers network. Do you have any proxy's defined in your IE settings? Do you know if your provider does an 'invisible' proxy? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I'm working on it. Actually, my GF is. Gimme a few days. Playboy, Ferris Bueller, AndyMan. All in Chicago. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I'd go one step farther and say 'Evolution', it's an outlook knock-off, minus the bugs. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

My vote goes to Troy Hartman. I suspect the viewers of his "Senseless Acts of Video" series on MTV, the Goose Skyboarding Super Bowl ad, in addition to his appearances in Batman and Baywatch were all seen by millions. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

That is a huge breach of trust, and reeks of students being taken advantage of. As soon as you do get that card signed, I would find another place to jump. After you leave, you might email your S&TA this thread. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I'll post this again, it's worth the read as well. Interested readers might want to read an article published by Salon magazine, outlining exactly what the airlines think of the risk of being hit by a SAM over LAX. Hint, they're scared shitless: Salon: The air industry's worst nightmare _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Something else to think about it to turn off your audibles. They are quite loud, and nothing will freak out your fellow passengers more then a rapidly beeping luggage compartment shortly before landing. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Yes, I'm working. Yes, I'm salaried. No, I'm not getting overtime. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I missed last years, I won't be missing this one. Should be a good illinois/indiana contingent, if I things go as planned. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

There's no point in going crossbraced if you're not loading upwards of 2.0. The extra rigidity of the wing simply isn't of benefit. Considering many skydiving centers with good canopy schools are recomending most jumpers with 40 jumps buy at 1.2, I see nothing wrong with calling 1.3 wingloading at 200 jumps moderate. I don't know specifically about the Crossfire, but I do know the Stiletto. The Stiletto becomes very prone to turbulence if it's not loaded above the minimum PD recomends, which is 1.26 on the 190. This is especially true as you approach the smaller sizes, which is why PD does allow fo intermediate level jumpers to jump the bigger Stilettos, but not the smaller ones - regardless of wingloading. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Yeah, it is. I don't mind the mildly off-heading nature of my Stileto openings. I consistently tell people that I think it opens great, considering what it is. What is it? A high performance canopy. People who love the Stileto love it because it "turns on a dime". People that hate it hate it because it's "twitchy". Same thing. It's a high performance canopy. It is very sensitive to brake line length, symetrical deployment, and symetrical body position through the entire deployment. It's so sensitive to these issues, that it's nearly impossible to completely control all the parameters required for a perfectly on-heading opening. This is the nature of the beast. As long as it's with +-45degrees of my original heading, I consider the direction 'good enough' to keep me out of impending canopy colisions. If it's consistently more then 45 degrees, then check your brake lines for twists, and be watch for any body movement during opening. ANY body movement will affect the canopy. A good trick I learned was not to watch the canopy or the links during opening, but watch the horizon. Watching the horizon will help keep your body straight in the harness. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

This is entirely false. There are no issues with having your cypres equipped rig x-ray'ed. You can (and should!) read the manual here: http://www.pia.com/SSK/cypres/english_users.pdf. I'd specifically suggest page 49. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Much more important then the straight pin at the bottom, is the closed off keeper at the top. The single biggest problem with sunpath style toggles is the open keepers. A descending slider will frequently knock a toggle loose on a harder opening. On competing velcro-less toggle solutions, I've never had the bottom mysteriously pop out. Moreover, even if the bottom DID pop out, it wouldn't cause a malfunction unless the top came out as well. The single pin seems almost overkill . However, the top popping out due to an open keeper is a very common annoyance. Likewise, I think the biggest advantage to having stowes for the slack brake line is that it settles the debate (on RWS toggles) over wether or not it should be stowed. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Well that's great, but the age BSR is non-waiverable, and is the source of at least 3 major dropzones being kicked out of the GM program. This is a bad thing. I believe it was your lawyers that encouraged the USPA from loosening the age limit BSR. Your age waiver is meaningless if the USPA doesn't have one as well. This is also a bad thing. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

It's more then a title, it's an agreement to obey a certain set of rules. The agreement has some 'teeth', too. It's the only regulation there is. This is a good thing. I'd like to keep it this way. Large numbers of DZ's not agreeing to the rules means there are no rules. That's bad. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
