  1. Yup, this is exactly why CC companies provide the service. Paragear should really ship with trackable methods. I remember skybytch saying when she worked at Square1 that she would never ship USPS for exactly this reason. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  2. More importantly, who cares? The unit is not available for sale, is not in production. The units that are currently in the field are test units. I'd be very surprised if there were NOT multiple missfires of TEST units. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  3. I don't think that's the case. In fact, it wasn't with me. I went to a Stileto 150 at roughly 350 jumps, and even skybytch was on board with my canopy choice. I weigh in a bit more then JC, too. Most of the canopy nazi's only really speak up when people are going sub-100 square feet with only a few hundred jumps. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  4. They're good canopies that are easy to pack, because they're a hybrid, it flies like a ZP but packs like F-111. Wether it's a good canopy for you depends on a couple of things. It's not a particularly popular canopy - largely, because PD doesn't put any effort into marketing them. Because of this, I think you're going to have a hard time selling it, when that time comes. They are good canopies, though. And yes, at an appropriate wing-loading they are a good choice as a first canopy. If its appropriate for you, depends on if you're buying new or used, and if you're buying new - how long do you plan on keeping it. If you're buying used, your should get it cheap so no issues. If you're buying new, it would suck if you put only a few hundred jumps on it, only to find nobody wants to buy it. Conversely, it'd be fine if you plan on keeping it for a few thousand jumps, resale value is meaningless. That said, with any canopy it's the wingloading which makes the biggest difference over how the canopy will fit you. What wingloading are you thinking about? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  5. On mine, that doesn't start the camera rolling, I have to hit the pair of record buttons. On mine, export to tape just sends the DV signal to the camera, but you still have to start the recording on the camera. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  6. There's skydiving talk in this forum? Who knew?!?!?! _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  7. So, nobody's seen any of these in the field yet....? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  8. BTW - a really, really good shareware photo-editing program is called Paint Shop Pro, and can be downloaded for free from www.jasc.com. It's almost as good as photoshop in most tasks, and in a few areas it's actually better. The scripting functions are really good, for example. I think you can use it for a month or so without registering, and the registration fee is somewhere around $80. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  9. Mine is 'OTHER'. 1400 * 1050 - 17inch laptop. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  10. Last night I watched his greatest movie ever... Canadian Bacon. Friggin hillarious. He even has a cameo! _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  11. I just a relatively new Stileto, and have no reason to think it came from the factory out of trim... A perfectly good explanation could be that I'm nuts. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  12. When I bought my Stiletto, I was really frustrated at Atair - even getting someone to answer the phone was a major hassle. Attempting to deal with Atair led me really quickly to PD. I've heard similar complaints about Icarus lately, too. That was a while ago though, so maybe they've improved. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  13. Lets try to remember that the product is not available for sale, it's not even on the market. While I'll fault a company for failing to disclose information about a product available for sale, I will not fault one for doing the same when the product is still in design or testing phases of development. In the High Tech industry, secrecy about a product until its launch date is the norm. These products are so expensive to design, companies frequently keep everything they can about it secret until the launch date. I'm surprised we even know about its existance... Lets not be too quick to judge. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  14. This isn't about Christianity, we all know that this chick is not a representation of maintstream christian thought. It IS about someone who's allowing her personal beliefs and personal sense of morality affect the relationships she has with her friends. I have a good many friends from all religions, and somehow we not only respect each others beliefs, but manage to get along pretty well while doing so. Your friend needs a lesson in what is an appropriate way to treat people she thinks are her friends. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  15. That's odd. I've jumped a few times without brakes stowed, and each opening has been a slammer... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  16. Yup, Banff Springs Resort has a wide variety of runs, it fits all skill levels. It really is breathtaking. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

  20. We all seem to make some of our decisions about safety in terms of style, and we're all smart enough to know that this is a bad thing, but we do it anyways. I'm as guilty as the next guy, I don't wear a pro-tec, for example. That said, I've seen some very cool looking pro-tecs out there, and if I were starting off right now I hope I'd be wise enough to at least give a look at them. I know one local jumper who's got a carbon fibre pro-tec. It does look cool. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  21. You guys are funny. I would give my left ass-cheek to play with this for a weekend. You're honestly saying you wouldn't jump it if you had the chance? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  22. I understand that the preasure inside the canopy is pretty much normal, but its a low preasure area above the canopy which keeps it inflated...? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  23. I ended up ignoring a lot of advice to keep it short, and made it just shy of 20 minutes. It went over really well, I'm still getting compliments over email. Next year I won't feel I have to keep it so short. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  24. I love the way that craichead.... Chalanges MY inhibitions. That's tough. I'll be sitting on the couch, and she'll jump on my lap straddling my legs. Asks silly questions like "WHo's my monkey?!?", at which point I'll reply "I'm yer monkey!". Repeatedly. This has been known to cause observers to vomit. IM's me "I love you" all day long. Has a labido that wears me out. Is open minded in all facets of life. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
