  1. I think this is exactly why most DZ's use a closed mailing list like the Microsoft list builderr...D'oh! http://www.bcentral.com/products/lb/default.asp _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  2. Er, maybe. In my post, I said a few weeks ago. I don't know what I was thinking. It was almost a year ago, when I was down at Christmas. I don't remember if it was Shirley or not, I went to her house and she lived near Elsinore. Anyways, I do recomend having somebody who knows what they're doing, do this. DP - the sandwhich comes separately on merlin suits so that you can place it where you need it, rigs being different sizes and shapes, etc. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  3. I disagree. I rarely, if ever drink white wine. Red wine with beef, chicken, AND fish. The only use for white wine is as an aperatif before dinner, or as desert aftter the meal. That, and to cook with, which is what narcimund was doing. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  4. I think the answer to this question really depends on two factors. A: what canopy you jump, and B: how cocky you are. For example, I jump a Stileto, and I do NOT flake the inside of the canopy. After throwing it over my shoulder, I flake the nose, grab the nose and give two big shakes. Then I grab the tail, wrap it, and set it on the floor. The result? My openings are BETTER then when I actually flake the inside. My explanation for this is that with my Stileto, flaking the inside puts the canopy into an unnatural shape, while giving it a few shakes makes it hang straight. Will I recoment this to you? No. However, if you jump a Stileto, have a good level of experience, and are comfortable being a "test pilot", then you might consider giving it a try. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  5. I bought a new Merlin suit a few weeks ago. I struggled with the instructions just as you are now... In the end, I paid someone to do it for me. I happened to be at a big DZ (perris), and found the local jump-suit guru, and had her do it for me. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  6. Really? I'm surprised its not part of the TSO.... Ok, same question - but this time with the soft reserve handle. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  7. Is a rigger required to either add or remove embroidery to TSO'D components? I've bought a used container that has somebody's name embroidered on the cuttaway handle. It's stimple to take a stitch-ripper and remove it. Is this legal, as I'm not a rigger? What about adding embroidery? I imagine this is quite a bit more complex, so the question is purely theoretical. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  8. I had a bunch of people over on Canada Day, July 1st. We got nice and lit up on the rooftop, the guests left, and craichead was cleaning the kitchen. I joked "so this is what married life is like... you like it?" - refering to her cleaning the kitchen. She responded by saying "please, you're NEVER going to propose". So I did! Moral of the story? Good things happen when she cleans the kitchen. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  9. Any container manufacturer will custom make a rig to virtually any combination of main and reserve sizing. _AM __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  10. You are such a perv. Lucky me! _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  11. I think we're all expecting the variables to suck, and aren't willing to make the investment to find out. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  12. Is it still the case that you can't add filters to the max Cohn lenses? This is a show stopper for me, I use a clear filter as protection, which I need to replace roughly every year. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  13. Yup, somebody chopped a "slider down" malfunction at Hinckley this summer, too. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  14. Kelly, you've probably got some spyware installed on your PC. Remember - don't downloadn and install programs from websites you don't trust. Go here: http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10214379.html?tag=lst-0-1 and download "Ad Aware". It'll scan your system and remove any spyware programs. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  15. Nope. If this happens, I'd keep my liberty and freedoms, but kiss this country goodbye. It's easy for me, I'm not a citizen, but my wife is and I know I speak for her, too. The move does seem entirely self-destructive. It would take away exactly what makes America great. It will happen, I have no doubt. Every great nation falls, usualy from preasure exerted by internal forces, just like those expressed here. History will repeat itself, I only hope its not in my, or my (future) kids lifetime. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  16. Do any of them have a good recipe for a flourless chocolate torte? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  17. All of the lensese you see at BH photo for a Sony cam-corder are conversion lenses. The lens on a Sony camcorder is fixed - you can't remove it. Compare this to a SLR camera, which has a removable lens. If you want to add a wide-angle lens to an SLR, you remove the lens and replace it with a wider one. If you want to add a lens to your sony camcorder, you add the lens in addition to built-in one. This is what defines a conversion lens - one that you attach in addition to the built-in lens. Why are some cheaper then others? Presumably, they're cheaper in quality in addition to price. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  18. I don't think this was ever about actually being able to coach newbies. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  19. I jump a PD reserve loaded at 1.6. I got a demo, set it up as a main, and I've got a handfull of jumps on it. I've landed it down-wind in 20 mph winds, too. I don't recomend a reserve at that wingloading, unless you've got a lot of two out of three: skill, balls, luck. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  20. The max numbers for the f-111 7 cell mains are recomendations. The max numbers on their reserves are the limit they're tested to. Big difference. Secondly, you can load a f111 reserve higher then a f-111 main, because they don't go through the wear and tear of having hundreds of jumps done on them. That said, novice jumpers should choose a very conservative wingloading on their reserves. Remember that when you'll be using your reserve, you'll probably be low, you'll probably be landing off, and you'll probably be landing cross-wind or down-wind. Get a big reserve. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  21. I'm confused - can you use premiere to do the chaptering and menus... do you even NEED to do chapters and menus? I'm going to a party and I want to throw my year-end flick on a CDROM, because my VHS deck sucks. Whats the easiest way to get it on a CDROM? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  22. Thanks Brian and Paul. Not surprisingly, knowing the correct name of the format increased the accuracy of my search results... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  23. IIRC, you can write a AVI file to a CDROM in a manner that it will play on most DVD players. I believe its called a video disk. Anyone know how to do this? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  24. Actually, there is Video. I saw it on CNN.com a few days ago, although I don't know where to find it now. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  25. Just for the record, 2600 doesn't do a lot of hacking themselves. They're an online and print magazine that report on hacks, among other things. Somebody hacked sbsheriff.com to point to 2600. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
