I have traveled extensively and don't have a passport. Been to: Portugal, spain, france, norway, england, Israel, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, Kuwait, Bahrain, Seychelles, Kenya, the Philipines, S. Korea, China, Japan and more that I have either forgotten or shall just go unmentioned. All compliments of my great Uncle Sam "Always do right. Dayyyyuuuuum... you guys are getting it ALL in aren't you? Did you plan your whole world tour out (hotels, flights, cars, DZ's etc.) before you started or are you guys making it up as you go? Have a blast and next trip, if you need someone to carry your bags or something, let me know. "Always do right. Larry Pennington Recovery from Heart Attack
SARLDO replied to tombuch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Wow! I had no idea this happened to Larry but, knowing just a little about him and his background, not surprised he was able to stay alive and got back into the air. Larry, your the man! For the record, my new suit (not yet received) from Bev is Navy blue (not black) with blue grips. So when you see me in it, it really is mine. Sorry for the loss dude, I hope you work it out with UPS and Bev Suits. Thieves really piss me off. "Always do right. Thanks. I have done a couple of 1/2's and remember the chills that followed. Today was weird because the run was so short and I was shivering nearly 2 hours later. I did eat some chicken and had some gatoraid and felt better shortly after. I'm still cold but not shivering anymore. "Always do right. If your a runner (or doc), can you answer this? I went for a run at lunch and went farther than planned for today (5 miles). Not a big deal, I do 5 all the time except today was just unplanned and I got a little hot and didn't have water with me. Problem i'm having is that right now, i'm freezing my ass off (in Orlando, indoors, temp is about 72f) and have been since I cooled down and showered (about 1.5 hours ago). I'm not dehydrated either, just cold. Any clue as to why this is? "Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest" ~Samuel Clemens MB#4300 Dudeist Skydiver #68

In my own words? Well, I would think that freefly friendly means that regardless of my body position, there is nothing on my gear that is likely to come lose/open and/or initiate a premature deployment. I thought BROW was the gangway, and BOW was the front. Although I did find several other misspellings. I stand corrected, I did mean BOW not Brow. Give me a break, i'm an airdale not a "black-shoe" sailor. "Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest" ~Samuel Clemens MB#4300 Dudeist Skydiver #68

Reminds me of the guy I watched punch out of an AV-8B as his aircraft started going over the brow (that's the front of the ship for you land lovers ) of an LHD . He came really close to calling it a life that day. Oh yea, I never stood on the foul line up forward after that day either. "Always do right. Sounds like the driver screwed up by not getting your signature for the delivery but left the box anyway. s/he will probably get their ass handed to them if they don't get it too. Go to their depot and ask for your box. Likely they won't be able to produce one. "Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest" ~Samuel Clemens MB#4300 Dudeist Skydiver #68

Absolutely not! As said, the last thing I want in my squadron is a bunch of folks who don't want to be there to begin with. We already spend too much time dealing with problem children who should just be sent home. I'm pretty well convinced hat I can reduce the size of any aviation squadrons maintenance department by about 30% and have it be far more efficient by losing the dead weight. The system you ask of works in Israel though. Maybe because they are surrounded by folks who secretly or openly want them dead. Self preservation IS a motivator isn't it? "Always do right. The good news (for your ass) is there are less per box. The bad news is they cost the same. "Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest" ~Samuel Clemens MB#4300 Dudeist Skydiver #68

Having spent many hours dangling from ropes under helicopters, and hanging out on the skids of Huey's, I always thought "how fun would it be to jump off this thing?" Well, never could afford to get into it with a wife, 2 kids and a measly salary as an enlisted sailor but, after getting divorced and commissioned, well lets just say I started having fun. Here I am 4 years later and can't remember what I used to do for fun before this. (BTW, still yet to do a helicopter jump) "Always do right. I'm sure almost everyone here will give you the same advise... Talk to your local instructors and go with used a used rig for now. You won't regret it. "Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest" ~Samuel Clemens MB#4300 Dudeist Skydiver #68

I fall fast... Trouble slowing down...
SARLDO replied to Tuna-Salad's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Tuna - Wow, I could have written this post myself. I have found that when i'm jumping with the gang at Z-hills, the only way I stay with the base is to be part of it. I know my suit is much to blame as it's slick and tight (I gained a few pounds since buying it) but, i'm waiting on a new one with swoop cords and some wing . Uncle sam is giving me a kickback this year so tunnel time is in my near future also. Until then, meet me at the DZ (i'll be there Sunday) and we can do some jumps together... just try to keep up OK? 1025 for me. It's like alchoholism, just with tobacco. I'm a recovering smoker who can never have just one. "Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest" ~Samuel Clemens MB#4300 Dudeist Skydiver #68

Absolutely yes. After a long week at work and dealing with the other stresses of life, heading to the DZ and leaving all other worries behind is very relaxing to me. Hard to explain how a sport so full of excitement can be relaxing but that's just what it is. "Always do right.
