  3. What is the difference between Adobe Premiere Pro 7.0 and 1.5? Is 1.5 newer than 7.0? Why can't companys do things in a manner that doesn't completely confuse their customers? Methane Freefly - got stink?

  9. I obviously need to travel more... I can understand the rest of these people not giving me props....but after having ridden in a plane with me, and to imply that belly flyers are the exclusive stinkers of otter air!?!?!?........ Honestly, I don't know why I bother. Methane Freefly - got stink?
  10. some of the graininess is due to the fact that I used microsoft paint to shrink the file size down to the 120k limit imposed from dropzone.com some of it is from the fact that I know as much about cameras and photography as I do about women. Methane Freefly - got stink?
  11. Second jump with my cannon 20d with 10-22mm lens. I kind of messed up the camera settings, but still managed to get some decent shots out of it anyway. I still have a lot to learn. I was just happy to get out of the plane without slamming the whole thing into the ceiling. Methane Freefly - got stink?
  12. Interesting that this code of conduct did not cause the Emperor and General Hideki Tojo to take their own lives under the shame of defeat. As is often the case, the leaders of a people rarely hold themselves to the same standards of honor and morality that they hold their citizens to, or that the citizens hold each other.... Often, the reason for this is that these codes of honor and morality are designed for one purpose, to allow the ruling class to control the masses. What I think we have to ask ourselves when we frantically wave that flag, and support those troops, and pay those taxes, and hate those terrorists, is this: "Do I support this because I believe in what we are doing, or am I just following the crowd? Am I just doing what is expected of me for fear of appearing to have no honor, no morality or no patriotism?" When you fail to ask these questions, you allow yourself to become a tool for evil men. For the record: I do support our troops, I have been behind the war in Iraq from day one, although I have always been suspicious of our governements motives. I do not hate the terrorists, but I do pitty them and condemn their actions. I do not think they are cowards, I think they are missguided people, with little hope, who have allowed themselves to become the tools of evil men. Methane Freefly - got stink?
  13. All of this on the same stop. Pulled over for alledgedly shouting asshole out the window at this local cop on a traffic stop. I didn't yell it, so I was a little standoffish. After he ran my name, he was going to let me go, but first he wanted to give me a stern talking to..... Cop: "You know you should have more respect for officers of the law. You can't just -" Me (cutting in): "Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Can I have my license back, I'm late for work?" Cop: "That's it, I'm writting you up." Me: "Good!" Ten minutes later after a second car shows up, he comes back to ask me if the address on the license is my current address. Once again, I cut in. Me: "Was I really so threatening that you had to call for backup?" They really didn't like that one! Then, finally, when they came back to the car to give me the ticket for dissorederly conduct: Cop: "You know, I'm letting you off easy. I should handcuff you, take you down to the station and fingerprint you and take your mug shot." I pull the keys from the ignition, hand them to my friend in the passenger seat, put my wrists together, and hold them out the window. Me: "Come on then, handcuff me. Take me jail, let's go!" He threw the ticket and my license at me, called me an asshole and stormed off. I found it hillarious that in the end, he called me an asshole, which was precisely what he had pulled me over for. 14. The weather report doesn't look great, but it hasn't for quite a while. They have predicted thunderstorms all day on 4 occasions this season and been absolutely wrong all 4 times. I don't do rw, but there are plenty of "those people" at crosskeys. You should be able to find plenty of people there to jump with. I am not sure who will be organizing flat flyers this weekend, but there is usually someone. Methane Freefly - got stink?
  15. I think that is wicked fuckin cool. When you start chucking shit out into a 120 mph air stream, some freaky shit is bound to happen eventually. Methane Freefly - got stink?
  16. With some of the older sabers, they could open so hard, they spontaneously combusted. Methane Freefly - got stink?
  17. Don't sweat it. Have a beer with Doug or I and we can tell you about all the times we received a stern talking to for the stupid stuff we did when we were learning. Methane Freefly - got stink?
  18. I was there and saw them both. Honestly, it worries me a little that you did it twice in the same day in the same conditions. But as you have been told, no one got hurt, it's ok. All we really want is to know that you are learning from those mistakes. Often, when a guy with low jump numbers has something like this happen, they become ashamed and dissapear. Don't do that. You aren't going to learn anything sitting at home. In fact, you should be at the dz trying to get back up asap. If you think you have learned something from this, go out and prove it. Bad weather days like today, I am looking out my window at some clouds right now, are great days to go out, hang around, find an instructor and pick their brain about canopy control. There are plenty of people at that dz that would be more than happy to help you out, all you have to do is ask. As Doug said to you when he picked you up, every one of us has screwed up. What differentiates people is what they learn from their mistakes, and the mistakes of others. Methane Freefly - got stink?
  19. I am referring to a "judo-like rolling it out", which is basically a slightly modified PLF. Methane Freefly - got stink?
  20. Max, I would have to dissagree. I watched someone nearly break their back/tailbone trying to slide in a downwinder they couldn't run out. The ground was uneven and he impacted ass first into a depression that he couldn't see due to the grass. I will admit that a highspeed PLF is a little different technique, but anyone who has ever eaten it going down a ski slope at a high rate of speed, should be familiar with the process. 21. Well, for starters, go here and look at all the scholarships for "under-represented" groups. They have scholarships expressly for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual or Transgendered people and searches to make it easier to find. Personaly, I think scholarships that handed out based on any criteria other than need or merit are absurd. But when they are funded from private institutions, well, whatever, it is their money. I am all for giving the underprivledged a leg up, but to base admissions or scholarships on anything other than merit first, and need second, is unjust. Just my opinion. Methane Freefly - got stink?
  22. Any place not teaching students how to do a PLF before their first solo is, in my opinion, not a good student operation. Also, as someone said earlier, a PLF is a skill that even experienced jumpers can suddenly find quite handy. Once again, I will bring up the incident where I got hurt. Dropped a toggle on a velo 111. The PLF saved my life, got away with a broken heel bone which I think is a result of me doing a less than perfect PLF. 8th jump back after injury, ankle is still sore and no where near 100%. I hook it too high, the canopy plains out and dives. I immediately decide that trying to stick this landing could result in me reinjuring my foot/ankle. I PLF and walk away with a dirt stain on my rig. I got laughed at by my friends for tumbling, but I also got to make the next load. Even on an otter full of experienced skydivers, there are still 23 students. Methane Freefly - got stink?
  23. I was trying to convince a few friends to go to this, but when we went to the website and saw the planes they will have, everyone decided against it. Methane Freefly - got stink?
  24. This is gonna be a huge event. They are offering a huge 0% off the allready low Wed price in honor of me!!!! Everyone come out and keep the plane's turnin!!! Methane Freefly - got stink?
