  1. When I'm buying something I feel the same way, but when I'm selling something I love it! I won't bid on anything that has more than about 20 seconds left on it...if some idiot didn't bid what they were willing to pay because they don't understand proxy bidding then it's their own damn fault. Miami
  2. Hard to give good advise without seeing it...my best guess is to just take a dremel and drill out a new hole for the thumbscrew, then line the sides/top with extra foam to help hold the camera steady. Would be best I think to take your helmet to an experienced vidiot at your dz and have them take a look/give tips...from my experience most vidiots are pretty handy at making things like that work. Miami
  3. I've always used Panasonic tapes (about $2.50 a tape) and have been adamant about not using any other tape in any of my sony cameras, never had a problem with drop out or lines. Here and here are some good articles on switching tapes. Miami
  4. Been on a couple times under canopy during demo's. Miami
  5. Hmm, that may work. If you have any trouble contacting them send me a PM and I'll give them a ring. Miami
  6. Who did she buy it from, I may be able to find out which camera it was made for. Or if you can still contact the previous owner they may be able to tell you. Miami
  7. What model Sony camera was her FF2 built for? That will play a part in which camera will fit in her helmet. Assuming it was built for a pc style camera you should be just fine with pretty much any of the pc versions you can find...the biggest problem you might run into is the cutout in the back not lining up exactly right with the rear controls on the camera, not a big deal. Sony no longer makes any pc style camera so you're going to have to look on eBay. My favorites are the pc110/120 (same camera w/ and w/o blue tooth), pc330, and pc1000...but any should work. If her helmet was built for an hc style camera you will most likely have trouble fitting any pc style camera into it (although I would imagine a pc109 would still fit), so find that out first. Hope that helps...and feel free to ask more questions!
  8. About 6:45 if it's only a mile...my 5k time is about 26 minutes, so I guess that's about 8 min/mile. Miami
  9. Anyone have one I can borrow for roughly 2 weeks? I'll reimburse you for shipping and buy you a ticket at the dz of your choice for your trouble. If lost or damaged I will of course replace it immediately...I take excellent care of other peoples' belongings (better than my own usually!). Needed for a project for my photography class. Thanks! Miami
  10. Grateful Freds, here, bottom of the page. Soft, comfortable, last forever (I've put thousands of jumps on one pair), and cheap! Hope this helps... Miami
  11. Mine is UP JUMPN. Vanity plates in Virginia are cheap! Miami
  12. Wow guys, thanks for all the kind words! I agree the delivery time is very disappointing, but they have just told me that the speed is picking back up a little! Miami
  13. Ooooh, I tied you! oh wait, my tandems don't count do they I'm at 4 racers right now, and probably ordering my 5th soon! Miami
  14. Make sure you are zoomed all the way out and your focus ring is taped down, set your camera to auto focus, let it focus on something bright and about the distance you want to be from your subject, and set it back to manual focus while still on that subject. Hope that helps... Miami
  15. From what I've seen about 5-10% of the time. I usually jump in areas that are very woodsy...I'm sure it's less at dz's that are more open. Miami
  16. I've heard of a case where someone chopped and the main landed next to a somewhat busy road. Someone else on the load witnessed a car stop, pick up the main and keep going, never to be seen again. They reported it as a theft to their insurance company and were reimbursed for their main. Miami
  17. Tallest was 6'9", about 220lbs...widest was about 5'8" and 275lbs. Actually took the wide one on two tandems then through AFF (although he was down to about 230-240 before level 1). Miami
  18. Something like this? Miami
  19. Miami

    Tandem Exits

Glad that helped...if you have any other questions about it just let me know, I'm happy to discuss. Miami
  20. Really? I've owned 3 Xaos' (2 21's and a 27) and have had no problems with them. What problems have you run into with them falling apart? As to the question, the 21 is by far the nicest and most consistent openings I have ever seen...and I've jumped a lot of different canopies. The 27 isn't too bad either, not quite as nice as the 21 but still very good and consistent, well within the needs for a full time videographer. The performance is also quite nice...I can't say much about distance as I overload mine quite a bit so I can go really really fast, but I am quite pleased with how they fly. Once I have had my fill of speed, and when it is time to get new gear, I'll without a doubt be getting another Xaos, but at a more sensible wingloading. Whether a 21 or a 27 I'm not sure yet...it may depend on how my neck is feeling at the time... Hope that helps... Miami
  21. I'll add another vote for racers...I've been through a variety of rigs due to work and hands down the racer is the most comfortable. I'm on my 3rd and 4th racers now and will without a doubt be getting a racer for my next rig. Miami
  22. I don't think you're alone on that line of thought...I'm still chewing on the idea but I think I like it. Instead of 78mph or 96mph there would be no speed to worry about. I'm curious though how many instances there have been cypres saves (not just fires but honest to goodness saves) after the main has opened... Miami
  23. Thanks for the update, William...what is the cost of the 2-pin version? Miami
  24. It doesn't look like Argus makes a 2-pin version yet, am I just missing it on the website or is that something for later on? Miami
  25. Ditto, depends on the dz. My last 2.5k jumps or so have been solely on my protrack/altitrack...most dz's don't really care when they see the ratings on my uspa card, but my last trip to perris I still had to fill out a single page logbook entry for my last jump and have a friend sign it. Miami
