  1. It seems to be part of his overall strategy of alienating his teammates. For some reason I don't think that it will work.
  2. I looked an awful lot like a normal flag with a hole cut out of the middle, making a poncho type thing.
  3. Unlikely. The parking lot is a little slushy, but nothing serious. It appears that the guy blew a stop sign, travelled 100+ feet through the parking lot, up the curb, and into the building.
  4. I just took thse pictures about 20 minutes ago. Unfortunately, my part of the building is still structurally sound, so I have to keep on working.
  5. Personal firewalls can this problem. Also, Mozilla and Mozilla-derived browsers (Firebird, Galeon, etc.) just plain don't work very well with the gallery.
  6. Did the camera come sealed in a Sony box?
  7. I'm personally not comfortable with jumping just enough to stay current (although Midwest weather pretty well forces me to do it in the winter). If it was simple lack of motivation or money keeping me on the ground, I'd hang it up until my situation changed.
  8. Pretty much just run-of-the-mill midget scat porno. Actually, it's just some company email that has people's names in the subject. Didn't notice them until I had taken the screen shot.
  9. Try taking the display, clear, and float lines out of AFS-side. Edit: Actually, you only need to take the display line out (or set it to "visible").
  10. Your stylesheet is broken somewhere. If I view the page without it, the layout looks correct.
  11. Yeah, it looks really wrong in Mozilla (attached). Honestly, if this is all that you have done I would scrap it and start from scratch. Have you considered a tableless layout (look down the page) using CSS? I've been experimenting with it and it seems to work really well.
  12. Eh. Our Intranet is templated in Dreamweaver so I pretty much have to use it (the initial design choice was made before I joined the company). I never take it out of the split view because the code it generates requires an infuriating amount of hand tweaking. For static pages it works kinda sorta alright, I guess. Better than pretty much every other WYSIWYG HTML editor I've ever used, but that isn't saying much. Hot tip: Never, ever, for any reason, ask Dreamweaver to generate even the simplest ASP or PHP for you. It will probably work, but if you later need to go beyond what Dreamweaver can do (which is to say, if you want a non-trivial app) and try to modify the code by hand it is practically impossible.
  13. Ditto. Stared at it for about a minute, then the solution just jumped out at me.
  14. I finally got one! I was feeling left out.
  15. Here's what I got by measuring my Arrow Dynamics C Bracket. You can always add more padding if the hole is too far outside, or elongate it a little if it is too close.
  16. computer geeks like to get into pissing matches about who's geekier -- Brian (computer geek)
  17. OK, I managed to confuse myself pretty thoroughly. NMEA is a real-time protocol which will not allow you to download saved tracks from the GPS. You can use something like GPSBabel to download the tracks from a Garmin GPS and convert them to DeLorme XMap format (and many, many other formats as well). You can see what XMap can do in the Projects section at FlyBirdman. Edit to add: Topo USA 4.0 (which FlyBirdman also seems to use) seems to be able to work directly with Garmin GPSs. There is a demo available. Try before you buy.
  18. Nope. You need a serial cable (you probably got one with your GPS) and software than can talk to the GPS. The FlyTrack project is using DeLorme XMap, which according to it's specs can communicate with any NMEA compatible GPS (which includes Garmins).
  19. 0:0:0 Saturday was jumpable but I'm a wimp.
  20. OK, so my situation has changed. No summer school and because of that my graduation is being pushed back from August to Decemeber, so I can avoid fiscal responsibility for a few extra months. Barring financial disaster, I'll be at Rantoul.
  21. I saw recent video of a real ejection that was most definitely done with a round. I think squares are all Hollywood.

    Duct Tape???

I think you could get away with it.
  23. Usually it goes something like this: I've already done 5 or 6 jumps, packing for myself, my back is sore, my fingers are dry and bleeding (I hate that), the sunset load is dirt diving in 5 minutes, and we're on a 15 minute call.
  24. We'd have to talk about that over a beer sometime. Hey Clay, did you read The Onion this week?
  25. Send an email to the DZ you plan on jumping at. If your are going to be jumping with the student club at Urbana-Champaign, that is Archway Skydiving.
