  1. It's probably stored in the EXIF information in the original JPEG image. If you've edited the image (though I would hope you don't edit originals) the EXIF information may be lost. Try some of the software here for extracting EXIF data.
  2. Seriously? I haven't seen it advertised at all.
  3. If I feel that the search isn't justified and I have nothing to hide? Part of me says "Stand up to The Man and refuse the search", but I'd probably just do the x-ray because potential days in jail, legal fees, etc. aren't worth it to me.
  4. When I sent mine in for service it came back with the back plate removed. Instead they are using a washer on each screw.
  5. When I was younger (middle school maybe) I thought that debris was pronounced de-bris ("bris" as in circumcision). Stupid silent letters.
  6. Not dead! It took me 3 hours to go 115 miles in the rain. I'd rate the trip Scary with occasional bursts of Fucking Terrifying. Hooray for hydroplaning. I had a great time at the Expo. Finally got to make a jump at SDC. John LeBlanc's and Bill Booth's talks were the standout for me, but every talk I went to was very good.
  7. They are legit. There are some things to watch out for, though: - It's almost certainly 50% off of manufacturer's list price. Most of the time you can get a substantial discout from list price.by going through a dealer (but probably not 50%). - Some coupons from some manufacturers are only for a percent off of the base price of the item. Extras (chrome on rigs, booties on jumpsuits, etc.) might be charged at full price. So you need to figure out what 50% percent off the manufacturer's price of the rig is, add options (remember that the discount may or may not apply), add taxes and other miscellaneous expenses, then add the cost of the certificate. Compare this price to what you would pay when ordering through a dealer. It is possible that the dealer will offer a better price. This was the case when I was considering buying a container from a different manufacturer with a 30% off certificate a couple of years ago. As for how people get them in the first place, they are often given out as raffle prizes or in promotional contests. I would guess that the majority of them are never redeemed, so it's probably a pretty good deal for the manufacturer. Edit: I should qualify "They are legit." I have no way to know if this particular certificate is legit, but the concept is common. I think there were 7 or 8 similar certificates given away at SDC on Sunday. Also, if I were in your position, I would have the seller email me the full text of the certificate, including any fine print, before committing to the sale.
  8. A fellow PA reader, I see. The best part about that is, there is a real study on the subject: The Impact of Anonymity on Disinhibitive Behavior Through Computer-Mediated Communication.
  9. The schedule says 10:00. I'll probably roll in around 9:30 and get waivered on the off chance that the weather is jumpable. Remember about 30 posts ago when I said I'd regret saying the forecast was perfect?
  10. It's a real photo. There was an email circulating that it was a picture of a hurricane, which isn't true, but it is a real picture of an approaching storm front.
  11. Photoshop can read EXIF tags, or you could try something like PIE (shareware).
  12. Finishing up my 3rd year in school. I was at the University of Illinois studying computer science for three semester, then I came home and am working towards an associates at a community college. My major is Computer Information Systems, better known as Applied Computer Science. In the fall I should start dual enrollment, finishing my associates at the community college and beginning work on a bachelors.
  13. Canada, Germany, Austria, France (for a few minutes). It was all fun.
  14. The s-video connector does not carry any audio information.
  15. I have close to 200 psycho packs on a Spectre without a bridle extension. However, I would recommend using one. It will make things so much easier. In this case, do as I say, not as I do.
  16. Off topic, but the workflow comment reminded me of something I read this afternoon. How do you handle over 1 million digital stills a year, with over 16,000 in one seven hour stretch? Sports Illustrated's digital workflow.
  17. Do it! I'm planning on doing my first flight at SDC this weekend.
  18. I'll probably wake up Saturday morning and regret saying this, but the weather looks like it will be as perfect as March in Illinois can be.
  19. Bo Brian (indyz) Cudlo eeneR Kallend Rainbo Sunny Tomas Tim Vallerina Edit: It's so hard to keep some people happy (Is is bad that I had to think about if O came before R?)
  20. 0:0:0 Too sick to jump. I did manage to finish the precourse portion of my coach card today. The 4-way team had it's first meeting. This year I'll be an alternate and part-time video guy (gotta learn somewhere).
  21. Auto-levels. My most used filter by far.
  22. I psycho packed my Spectre 170 for almost 200 jumps. No problems at all. The quality of the openings (speed, heading performance, etc.) wasn't noticeably better or worse than when I would occasionally pro pack it.
  23. Just mentally replace "Unreal Tournament 2004" with "Dropzone.com". Clicky
  24. What is the model of the video card? And why do you want to run in 256 color mode? Ignore that second question. I thought you wanted to go down from 16-bit color to 256 colors. My mistake.
  25. I'm surprised that he was even allowed to wear a hat in school. From kindergarten until I graduated high school in 2001 we weren't allowed to wear any non-religious headgear inside the building, no exceptions.
