This will probably show up on Memepool tommorrow. I have a feeling somebody on these boards is involved with that site. At least two of the links that Dave has found have shown up there. -- Brian Homepage

For a while, the Jump for the Cause page had dz.com's mailing address listed as southeastern Wisconsin. whois puts the contact information in San Francisco (and has HH's real name, BTW). Sangiro is in London. I'm thoroughly confused. -- Brian Homepage

So I guess a ProTec is the brain bucket for me, at least for now. Does anybody know actual sizing? All I see is S, M, L, and XL. I know I have a big head , but I don't really want to guess on mail order. -- Brian Homepage

Does anybody have an opinion on the Gath vs. a Protec? I'd prefer to not spend a lot of money on a helmet, and going from under $100 for a Gath or Protec to $170+ to a freefly helmet is a pretty big jump. It seems like a Protec offers just as much protection as any other openface helmet that I've seen around the DZ. Based just on that it would be an easy choice, but I've tried on every Protec that I could get my hands on and the ones that fit me just aren't comfortable. I haven't seen a Gath to try. I guess my real question is, does the Gath provide more or less protection than a Protec, or does it just come down to looks? -- Brian Homepage

Ditto. Doesn't work in the applet or a normal IRC client. -- Brian Homepage

I'm looking forward to that crazy headfirst luge thing that they're doing this year. Have they done Super G yet? The downhill skiing is usually pretty exciting. -- Brian Homepage

They do it out of the Pink Skyvan. Idle and feather one prop, dive the plane, climb out through the pilot escape hatch down a rope towards the tail. I haven't seen video, but from the stills it looks like the plane then dives out from underneath the jumpers so they just sort of float off. -- Brian Homepage

I see a gigantic flying jungle gym when I look at that plane. I wonder how hard it would be to crawl underneath to the other pontoon? -- Brian Homepage

October 12. The real Columbus Day. Oh yeah, and I'm with Dave on this one. I would've guessed maybe two years out of college. -- Brian Homepage

My favorite Drew Carey quote (paraphrased): "We're gonna smoke cigars, shoot guns, then get real drunk and call the Bureau of Alchohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and say thanks for the idea." -- Brian Homepage

Interesting Wal-Mart fact: For emergencies, they call "Code Color" on the PAs or over the phone. I don't remember all of them, but a Code Black usually involves SWAT teams. -- Brian Homepage

*sigh* - only 8 months until I'm not a teenager anymore.

I don't think there are any special requirements to shoot. Just about anybody can shoot a gun. A lot of ranges have instructors that will teach you to shoot for a fee. The Boy Scouts taught me how to shoot a shotgun and rifle before I was in my teens, then a friend of mine whos family owns a gun store taught me automatics when I was 16 or 17. They wouldn't let me handle the class 3 stuff until I was 18, but I never had a chance to go do it. They supposedly had a SAW. That woulda been fun. -- Brian Homepage

I tried one of those on the last time I was looking for a watch. They're freakin' gigantic, and heavy too. I'm wearing a G-Shock right now, and that thing was probably almost twice as big and maybe 50% thicker. I don't see how anybody could be comfortable wearing it for more than a few minutes. -- Brian Homepage
