The currency converter that I used. -- Brian Homepage

If that's $70 Australian then a repack is only like 35 bucks US. -- Brian Homepage

Scratch what used to be here. My argument sucked, but I still think that it is somewhat unethical. I would be freaking out if I owned a Crossfire, I would be cancelling my order if I had one in (or at least putting it on hold until I saw that report), and if I was in the market for a Crossfire I might go elsewhere. -- Brian Homepage

IIRC, the "B for a night jump rule" is only a recommendation. A few days ago somebody pointed out that you could do your whole student progression at night if the DZ felt like it. -- Brian Homepage

But wait! There's more: Their FAQ page appears to be copied verbatim from this page: http://www.soyouwanna.com/site/syws/skydiving/skydiving.html Their virtual tandem skydive page was ripped (images and all) from Skydive New England: http://skydivenewengland.com/firstjump/tandem/vts01.htm -- Brian Homepage

I'm sorry if I offended anybody, but I would by lying if I said that the first time somebody told me what whuffo stood for I didn't envision a black guy. I know it's a stereotype, but I have also worked with and attended school with more than a few African-Americans who spoke that way. Lisa's explanation does makes plenty of sense as well, and I'd assume that she's right. I'm sure that it does, but it also definately pokes fun of a style of speech. I also sincerely doubt that it is a racist term. -- Brian Homepage

What + for. Say it like the stereotypical black guy would say it: Wuh fo' -- Brian Homepage

The also have a "Forums by Dropzone.com" logo prominently featured on the top of the page. If you click the "Forums" link on the left side navbar, it takes you right into the forums, bypassing the main dz.com page. I don't know if they have HH's permission, but if they are stealing images from other sites then I wouldn't put it past them to piggyback off of the forums. -- Brian Homepage

Check out this thread. It looks cutting away on the ground with an RSL will cost you a repack, but winds would have to be insane to get the reserve canopy out of the freebag. -- Brian Homepage

Check out this Straight Dope article on penile fractures. A preacher bent the creature when he missed his target and pounded the bed. Another guy missed the sweet spot, as it were, and hit his partner's perineum. Take your time, folks. -- Brian Homepage

That's hilarious, but whoever has that on their site stole it from http://liquidgeneration.com, which is a great site on it's own. If you decide to check it out, make sure you play "The Crying Game." I couldn't stop laughing, even though I was pretty grossed out and horrified at my inability to distinguish a transvestite from a real woman when viewed from the waist up. -- Brian Homepage

I actually started my 15 second delays with trouble starting the turn. The dive went like this: -Poised exit, come off the hill, check alti. -Turn time. Dip shoulder. Nothing. -Try again. Dip shoulder, with emphasis. Nothing. -Check alti. This is taking too long. -One more time, with feeling. Bury my shoulder. Holy crap. I went around two times very fast before I started to slow the turn. I was still rotating faster than I would have liked to at pull time. My JM and I eventually came to the conclusion that I was actually dropping my knee as well as my shoulder, so I would slide sideways. On my next jump, I started the turn fine, but hadn't got it completely stopped at pull time. The jump after that (20 second delay), I did an interesting 360 manuever during the diving exit, then did the turn and got it stopped exactly on heading. Felt awesome. That also happened to be the first jump were I was relaxed in freefall. -- Brian Homepage

Update: Nothing too bad, but you probably don't want to open this at work. This one made me cringe, even though it's obviously fake. Related story, I knew a girl who thought that there was actually a bone in there somewhere. -- Brian Homepage

No pic (I don't photograph very well), but check out the webcam: http://www.students.uiuc.edu/~bjmarti1/cam.html. -- Brian Homepage

The USA network runs a show called "Combat Missions." Different special forces teams (bunch of different military, SWAT, HRT) go head-to-head in simulated combat. From the commercials it looks like they pretty much just run around in MILES gear playing capture the flag. It's hosted by Rudy from the first Survivor, but since the show is on USA they probably made him clean up his language. -- Brian Homepage

Save it on your hard drive, then take the "52" off of the end. -- Brian Homepage

Golf? -- Brian Homepage

Stupid browser, I had to save it and rename it to view it. But while I was doing that, I found the attached in my download directory. Just change all of the golf references to skydiving. -- Brian Homepage

2 (Me and the JM). 4 or 5 pair. It was dark and the pickup truck they were in drove by me pretty quick, so I don't remember for sure. -- Brian Homepage

Like the last two seasons of Baywatch where the horrible stories and blatant product placement made it impossible to watch even for the boobies? Or was it like earlier in the series where the plot was still horrible, but it was viewable if only for the boobs? -- Brian Homepage

A.T. Clinger? Didn't I see that name somewhere on a Collegiates accuracy ranking list? I think Vallerina was on there as well. -- Brian Homepage
