  1. Waiting on almost $400 from the Feds, but I ended up owing the state $180 because an out of state employer with a local presence (so I'm technically an instate employee) didn't take out Illinois taxes. -- Brian
  2. 0:0:0. But spring break (and the most boring week of my life) is over, so hopefully I'll be back at the DZ this weekend. -- Brian
  3. I use FilterProxy (such a creative name, huh?) which seems really similar to Proxomitron. I haven't used P-tron, but just based on taking a quick look at the P-tron website, it looks like one might be based on the other. FilterProxy does require a Perl installation, and I'm not sure if all of the required modules work outside of a Unix environment. Anyhoo, I have a filter written for FP that kills users posts, but leaves the header so you know where they are. I'm not sure if it generates valid HTML because it works under Mozilla and beyond that I don't care. I also have one that replaces annoying sigs (AndyMan!) with "SD" (signature deleted). Send me an email or a PM if you want 'em. -- Brian
  4. I've never had a problem with Amtrak. My train left 20 minutes late one time, but that's better than any plane I've ever taken. Of course, I only take the short trip from Champaign to Chicago and back. The scary part about that is jumping on a Metra train (commuter rail) to get out to the 'burbs. It's usually about midnight and I want to sleep, but that's just asking to be robbed. Still better than the El, though. -- Brian
  5. Ordered mine. And like Phree, I ended up buying another one ("Don't Forget to Pull"). -- Brian
  6. My posts:jumps ratio is just a little over 20:1. I have a part time job that I work 13 hours a week and do literally nothing other than surf the web. Technically I'm in network support, but I've gone 6 shifts without a service call. That has only happened once, but 2-3 isn't uncommon. So it's really easy to rack up posts compared to jumps. -- Brian
  7. Okay, I have a real solution now: In the same part of the control panel, set Post Format to "Side." -- Brian
  8. It works if you view the thread by clicking the "Print Thread" button at the top. Of course, the formatting is optimized for printing (read: ugly as hell). -- Brian
  9. Her name starts with a T. And I slept through the alluded to incident. "It'll just be a quick nap," I said. Five hours later I woke up... -- Brian
  10. damnit damnit damnit. -- Brian
  11. Alex, Do you jump at Skyknights? I'm looking around for a summer DZ while I'm out of school. I plan on visiting the Chicago area DZs, but Skyknights is the only one I haven't heard anything about. -- Brian
  12. Back to the 50s by the 30th. Which also happens to be the next time I can jump. [Mr. Burns]Excellent[/Mr. Burns] -- Brian
  13. Same as Joe except for the year, October 12th 1982. Libra. -- Brian

    Vegetarians?

I like eggs. Omelletes especially. And chocolate milk. And cheese ('cause, I mean, what's an omellete without cheese?). So I can't be a hardcore vegetarian. I also really like big juicy hamburgers. So I can't even be one of those borderline, too wussy to go all the way, doing it because my new girlfriend wants me to and I haven't gotten laid in a really long time, vegetarians. -- Brian

    Hwy Accident,,,

Same as Clay, did my taxes. I ended up with a $360 refund from the Feds, which I though was pretty good for part-time work. I was thinking about what I could spend that on while I was doing state taxes when I noticed that one of my employers hadn't taken out state taxes! Bastards. So I come out ahead $180 or so. Not bad, but not as much as I had hoped for. -- Brian

    New names!

Chim-Chim Diaper-Sniffer. Off to put my head in the oven. -- Brian
  17. I'm getting into this thread awfully late (dialup is unbearable), but does anybody have an opinion of Skyknights in East Troy? It's one of the closer turbine DZs to me so I plan on swinging up that way once school is out. -- Brian
  18. Marc is on spring break so he won't be working those late nights that seem to lead to Ruminations. Give it a week or two, I wouldn't be suprised to see a new one. -- Brian Homepage AIM: suprmath
  19. I just went a looked a bunch of that stuff up on Google Groups. Creepy. Is he doing this across state lines? If he is, I'd badger the FBI, otherwise contact the state or county police about it. California has enough wierdos that they should have some sort of Internet crime unit. -- Brian Homepage AIM: suprmath
  20. Ninjas are totally sweet! -- Brian Homepage AIM: suprmath
  21. 0:0:0. Could've possibly had that first digit up a little higher, but I left a very important (and apparently unlisted) phone number in my dorm when I came home for spring break. I am a moron. -- Brian Homepage AIM: suprmath
  22. Somebody got pictures of this, right? -- Brian Homepage AIM: suprmath
  23. Check out Metaspy, an offshoot of Metafilter. Some of the searches that people run are seriously freaky. While I was writing this, "ballerina sex" popped up. Odd. -- Brian Homepage AIM: suprmath
