Only 3 times, and it's been a few years. Besides, I think the flu was making me crazy last night. I sent totally incoherent emails to my parents, my boss, and my history TA. -- Brian

Since the javascript is broekn for me, I'll just pick Lancelot. Why? Because my "friends" keep interrupting my oral sex and spakings, that's why. -- Brian

I was thinking about getting school colors if I bought a new main. Any opinions? -- Brian

I like the new one better. Not sure about the orange slider, though. -- Brian

Thanks for the pict Quade. I think something is going on when I convert from the pict to a bitmap so the Gimp can read it. I'm actually getting worse results with the uncompressed image. -- Brian

On one of my longer freefalls from the Cessna I waved at 4500, got under canopy and saw the JM still in freefall. I was thinking "pull!" when I realized that he probably wasn't much lower than 3000. -- Brian

So wait... Lisa says 0:5:0, with 5 ten ways. Did Viking do a ten way, or is "docking" a metaphor? Nevermind. -- Brian

I'm wondering if it would look much better if I ran it on an image that hadn't already been subjected to lossy compression. Do you know anywhere I could download a framegrab saved as a raw BMP or PICT? -- Brian

"I'm surrounded by assholes!" "Shit! Even in the future nothing works!" (I think it might be "fuck!". It's been a while). -- Brian

If you don't have Photoshop and don't want to buy/steal a copy, the Gimp has a pretty good deinterlace filter. Attached is Paul's test image with the evens removed and rescaled to 640x480, saved as a jpeg with the quality at .75 or 75%, however you want to look at it. I didn't do a side-by-side comparison, but removing the odds looked good also, at least with this image. -- Brian

I concur. VMWare is a spiffy product and if you are a student you get a major discount. Unless you want to play games or you have a very old computer, I would recommend VMWare over a dual boot setup. Becayse of DirectX issues, most newer (read: 3d) games don't run well under VMWare. If you are just keeping Windows around to play games, setup for a dual boot using Grub. Also, check out linuxdoc.org, under the HOWTO section for some examples of dual booting. -- Brian

Mozilla has been making great strides over the past 4 years. They froze the developement tree and the next "stable" release will be 1.0! . It seems like it has taken a long time, but I'm running Moz 0.9.6 on Linux and it is more stable than any of the Netscape browsers, and it's fast too. Crashes are fairly rare, and I hear the newer versions do even better. It's worth checking out no matter what platform you run (and there is a version for almost every OS out there). -- Brian

0:0:0. I probably still owe beer for something. Lord willin' and the creek don't run too high, I'll finish the A license proficiency card next weekend. -- Brian

Hook knives are not mandatory. It's such a cheap option on new rigs and easy to have installed on existing rigs that I can't see any good reason for jumping without one, but lots of people do. -- Brian

Agreed. I went and removed 2 virus scanners from a secretaries computer after she installed 3 different products. They each kept pegging each other as viruses. No harm, just lots of false positives. Sigh. Today at work was another "despise my users" kind of a day. You'd think Ph.Ds could figure this stuff out on their own. -- Brian

Err, I'm taking this as a joke. Maybe not the epitome of comedy, but still a joke. -- Brian

15/16. Now practice playing drunk. The skills you learn may save you from enormous mental anguish at a bar some night. -- Brian

Quite possibly the most disturbing yet funny (and not fake!) music video ever: Right here. You'll need decent bandwidth and Java to watch it. Perfectly safe for work, although your co-workers will question your sanity. -- Brian

Up late doing math, Riemann sums and integrals, This is not for me. -- Brian

You didn't see 'em? Search for a thread called "Beer bet" -- Brian

Went to a bunch of junior high dances. Fun because nobody danced, just hung out. In high school I went to one homecoming, which sucked. I also went to junior prom which sucked, but I had fun later so I won't complain . -- Brian

Three days from Korea to Australia? That seems like a long trip. Paddling the raft yourself? -- Brian

How many flies does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Only two. The hard part is getting them into the bulb. -- Brian
