I asked that question about 200 times yesterday!! I'm getting my pilots license... I know...It's going to be hell hearing about atlanta's good times and not being able to be there.....BUT...who knows, you might see me a couple times this summer!
-
Yeah! I have never seen skydivers stop their actions because somebody came up with a good excuse for something NOT to happen.....That was top shelf whining though!! NOOOOO I have electronics......I have electronics
-
I agree!!! I'm trying to be ....responsible... shhhh... AND I HATE IT!!! BUT! I do have 5 months free later this year and can bet that I'll be hanging in Atlanta!!
-
Do they skydive there? I thought they just partied!! OH...thanks Blaine....I have a HUGE bruise over my right nipple...( I told you whatever...just don't leave a mark) I've managed to make it back to ohio...now I just have to figure out how to get back down again... I'm just afraid that if I come down for the summer I won't get any jumps in on the weekends!!

Dates??? I'm ready to plan some southern trips.. I've managed to spend 1 complete day back in Ohio..... I miss my new southern friends.

And what is their target base on the Katana? Since it IS a high performance canopy for very experienced skydivers who normally load their canopy down a bit.....? How many people are out there who fullfill that parameter on a 150 Katana? At a 1.75 wingloading your looking at someone around 260 out the door. Waiting to hear the "masses" speak out on this.....Oh wait they did, and they weren't "disgusted". Hence the entire line of PD canopies....If you are a midrange canopy pilot, your not jumping a Katana.(or at least shouldn't be) And most of those people jumping 135's and 150's are not looking for an aggressive of a canopy like a Katana......get a sabre2 or spectre..or are those "disrepectful and hypocritical ?" All this "business talk"...what type of business are you in? Every company out there will diversify and try to meet the needs of the market. The Katana does just that, as does the Sabre 2 and every other canopy they make. What do you care if they haven't got a 135 & 150 out yet? You already said you wouldn't jump one....or is this a hate the giant thing?

Out of all the training jumps I do with jumpers training to be an I, mis-routed 3-rings are the most common thing they miss.

You prefer "masters" over Illustrious Potentates ?? I'm done!! I'm outy!!

The loyal rigger and loin cloth manufacture was just confused as to the number 20...no breaking down... I mean no ill towards my Illustrious Potentates Speaking of rigging....what was I supposed to be doing before I got sucked in to the Bonfire AGAIN?!?

Just 3? Why bother then? My independent study has found it takes more than 3....the lil' owl lies!(but he CAN see people sneaking up from behind him....)
-

Some?? I mean I might get drive under an 84, but I don't think I want to check in 35mph!! (lots of bad stuff happened the last time I saw people jumping in wind like that....come to think of it, bad stuff happened the time before that too!) Just means more time to party kelel01?!!! -
Because the jump plane market is WAY to small to specialize aircraft just for us. What does that tell you? Maybe it wasn't built for jumpers but cargo...they just saw a nitch and tried to market it. If it was built just for jumping, they would have raised the tail! There was a King Air 200 flying in the mid 90's. If I remember correctly the pilot/owner was Dave Norcutt. AWESOME PLANE!!! Had a HUGE "deck" on the out side and you could float 14 and a decent size BBQ grill out there! Unfortunately it's a high dollar item, and skydiving has trouble paying for a plane like this. I believe when he tried to get it part 135 certified the FAA didn't like the patio on the side and wouldn't clear it till it was gone. I think he sold it soon after that.

So do all your experienced people jump SOS? I'm sorry for continuing this thread...I have a better ideal now who and what I'm discussing here. Your completely right. I acknowledge all your student experience and won't comment any longer.

HEY!!! You didn't even see half the hands you were delt....You were never at the table!! Pyke....Fill him in! -
So have I...I've never lost a handle yet.....But the thread is talking about students and what we teach them. Not what we do as experienced skydivers. They both can hurt somebody on the ground though can't they? I want my students to have both hands on the handle they are pulling and ensuring that the cutaway handle is completely out before going for reserve. Stuff you've said in your post I agree with from my viewpoint as a skydiver....But the thread is in reference to students.
-
OOOHH!! I forgot about that too....I can provide photography skillz also...That's my work on bling sis there.. and fyi: I'm not very good at sewing large pieces of material together..but I am good at attatching small pieces of fabric to strings!

Need a loyal rigging servant/loin cloth sewer?

Congrats you two!! I KNOW x-keys won't be the same without selwyn and mel around this year! There's nothing like doing 17 jumps, a x-keys party, then waking up @ 6:30 AM and see The island man running around in the morning...

Exactly, as I said. You brought up a good point that handles can injure somebody. So can a body that hasn't completely pulled their handles like the fatality we had not that long ago. Just as I said.... People can accidently drop their handles too, just like this guy 'dropped' his knife. You started your post with,"all of you in the throw your handles camp"........ I'm just offering a different view point as an instructor who teaches new people how to use their gear. Handles, bodies, and knives can all injure people on the ground. I'm more concerned with making sure my student pulls the cutaway completely AND pulls his reserve than I am concerned whether they hold on to it or not.. I also jump at a dz that is wide open without many people nearby. I'm just offering a different view....that's my point. Do you teach your students to hang on to the handles?

So ALL defense laywers are going to "hell"? Because I'm sure they all have defended someone they thought/knew was guilty. I thought I was in SC with all this talk about god and karma....... And the karma comments absolutely kill me!! I can tell you all have studied western ways for years!
