So it sounds like you charge very little(over costs) for the students to come out and jump tandem/ train for AFF. Let me first say I don't agree with what he is doing. But If some guy from across the country can come in and sell tandems out from underneath you at or above your tandem rates, then maybe you need to re-evaluate how your reaching your target group.(the students) Being that the club has been there for years, every student on campus should know about it. Do the students who are part of the club do fundraisers and/or campus socials in return for the cheap prices you give them? Our Ohio State club has done a AWESOME job at creating awareness about the club. In fact we have started a "for credit" class that is sanction by the school. It is entering the 3 year and spring semester had 93 students in the class! The club should be making sure EVERY student knows about them. If they are supporting you by making sure ALL the students know about the club, I think you should have very little to worry about this guy showing up. If he does, and gets tandems, I would make sure I had a similar program set up for the next semester and lock it in with the university!! ...If the university is supporting you with money,(however small it might be) I'm surprised they are allowing another person in though...

I did about 10 out of the x-keys chopper last year in wildwood. I decided to leave backwards off the step and do a backflip. That decision was based on me wanting my handles to outside of the chopper as I left. The problem with this exit is you HAVE to make sure the students legs will clear the seat as you leave. I have some BASE experience, so that helped a lot on the exit and roatation. I also saw a couple tandems leave in a poised position. It seemed they almost always did a front flip/roll off onto their side then out of it. Benifits to that is the student is completely out. The JM just needs to make sure he doesn't drag his handles out or bang his head on the glass. Either was you can REALLY hear the students sceam as you leave into the subterminal air.......(or was that me!! )

Maybe they are thinking along the lines of a safe landing under their reserve if they somehow got knocked out and couldn't fly the the canopy?......

So do you recommend that after cleaning the cables with a food grade silicon, that you wipe them once with a clean towel to remove excess lubrication? ( I've heard excess lube attracts dirt) Also, have you heard of people spraying the 3-rings down with lubrication? I've noticed the 3-ring loops getting pretty dirty on the side that rubs the small ring on a couple rigs. It could just be the way the owners are handling them, but wanted your thoughts/results of any tests you've done on this. I'm asking because(after recent cutaway problems) we've decided to put up an experienced jumper 3-ring/cutaway maintenence station in our hanger. Thanks....
