In this first pic.....well, Lisa found something she liked, so she started playing with 'em.. In the second.....well, Lisa sure got Galen's attention.. The third is part of the group on Saturday while we were waiting out the winds....from left is Steve(canuck278), Missy aka Dagny(the blob of hair over the back of the chair), Lisa, Katie, Renee(eeneR), and Brian(skydiverbrian). The last pic is Katie....kinda dissapointed after going on a weather hold while they were on a 10 minute call, waiting in the loading area.. Mike

Here are a few pics I took.....unfortunately, I didn't get many....I was too drunk half the time to carry the camera around and not break it.. The first is the three way between Lisa, Chuck, and Katie....four way if you count Molly.. In the second pic, we have a confirmed dock! NICE! The third pic is Lisa modeling her suit for us.. The fourth pic is Lisa's ass....she kept talking about it and sticking it in front of the camera(especially the video camera)...so we kept taking pics and slapping it.. In the fifth pic......well, I'm not quite sure what Jimbo is looking for....did ya find it Jim? More to follow... Mike

Who knows.....depends on how much I have to drink tonight and when I get to bed....is it just a regular load, or is it the beach jump you were trying to get set up? Mike

You guys suck! We'll be there by 2200...probably closer to 2100....I have to wonder if you guys will still be conscious then.. Mike

Restaurant/bar that people end up at many weekends. From the DZ, turn right on Roseland Rd(the main road just outside the airport). Keep driving until you can't drive straight anymore...you'll be at the water. That's A1A. Turn right. Don't confuse this with US1, which you will pass shortly before you get to A1A. Go down a ways(I have no idea how far....less than a couple miles though) until you see Hirams on the left. Park across in the dirt lot if the main lot is full(it's pretty small). Mike

Being a safe, competent skydiver comes with experience......there is no magic number, but at 42 jumps most people don't have the first clue about the possible consequences(nor the skills to pull it off safely) of such an action as he is planning on doing. I say planning on because it is obvious he is going to do it if he can, and not heed any warning from anybody. Just like many newbies, they wait to hear something they like from one person and run with it....ignoring everybody else. Such is skydiving. Read it again, Einstein. I stated that pairing an inexperienced jumper with an inexperienced pilot(who may have no clue about aerodynamics and what happens when a person climbs out on the wing, or what happens when said inexperienced skydiver takes off half the tail on exit) is much more dangerous. An intelligent person would understand that as "much more dangerous than a normal skydive". That's ok....I don't really care what some schmuck(sorry, guess that should be schmook) thinks, especially when it's somebody that's hiding behind a fake account they created today. Get a backbone - if you don't agree with something, don't try to hide behind some fake name...be yourself. Mike

Assuming the cutaway cables are properly sized for that rig. If not, it could fire the reserve just after the first riser has left. I think this is a critical part of determining whether or not to use an RSL....understanding everything about it. It's explained pretty well above by Rigging65. Of course, the other argument is a broken riser(the retaining loop is the most likely thing to break on the riser)....which, IMO, is much less likely to occur than a no pull on the reserve, as long as the risers are maintained and inspected properly. I think only about 10% of the people here would know who you're referring to....that was a long time ago.....but I wonder if he's still after Osama? Mike
-
Actually, I saw those on a rig a couple years ago....at the Ranch, I think. I laughed my ass off when I saw it.....I'm sure everybody in the plane wondered why I was laughing. Mike

I used to have handles that said...."Problem" and "Solution". Mike

Don't those two words in the same sentence make it an oxymoron? Mike

If you're only at 42 jumps, forget about it for a couple hundred more. Then you will have enough control and hopefully understanding about what happens after exit, and what can happen if you exit that aircraft incorrectly. Not trying to be a prick, but I wouldn't let you jump out of it if I were flying. Also, if you're planning on doing this with a low time pilot, you're both in even more serious danger. Mike

Steve will tailor the course to your experience level. As long as you have your A license, you'll be fine. All the tunnel time and coach jumps will be one on one. Look in Parachutist for his ad, and there is a phone number listed there....it's his cell phone number. Call him on that. I'll be seeing him in the morning - I'll tell him to check his email...but like I said, he will tailor it to your experience and goals. Mike

Who is the one person that is always on EVERY load? The pilot. It's the pilot! It's always the pilot! Ever see 'em sitting up there eating Taco Bell? Notice the plane stinks on the next 10 loads like Taco Bell farts? It's always the pilot!

Do you wear your helmet during take off and landing?
Aviatrr replied to dgskydive's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I wear my helmet at all times below 1000ft, usually more like 1500-2000ft. If I am jumping my camera helmet, it is secured to the seatbelt or my chest strap(depending on location of the seatbelt and how much room there may be in that area). I feel that the heavier weight of the camera helmet would cause more damage to my neck then it would prevent in the event of a crash. It MUST be secured tightly, though, so it does not become a projectile in the event of a crash. Mike -
Actually, all Beech 99's look just like that except for the pod on the bottom....which yours may or may not have....and some of the earlier models had a shorter nose..but the rest remains the same. It's been a long time since I've flown one of those, but IIRC the straight BE99, the A, and B models will make altitude in roughly 15 minutes with a max load(most of them carried around 3000-3500lbs max depending on the empty weight of the airplane), and the C model a couple minutes quicker(bigger engines) with another few hundred pounds. For some reason, I actually remember the MGTOW for them....A and B models 10,900lbs, C model 11,300lbs. In their original "airline" configuration, they had 15 passenger seats. If it's got the cargo door conversion, the door will be approximately the same size as a Twotter....just watch the tail on exit. Mike

Did I ask you for a gear check?
Aviatrr replied to SkydiveNFlorida's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I think the big issue here is that it was somebody visiting from another DZ that she did not know....or have any idea as to their experience and/or competence level. I, personally, don't want anybody messing with my gear without first asking unless it's an issue that is an immediate safety concern(such as a pilot chute out of the BOC). I know I'm in the vast minority, but I check my reserve pin after every pack job and just before donning the rig. I even go as far as to pull on the reserve ripcord cable(from just above the pin, not the handle) and make sure the cable moves at the handle end.....and this is because several years ago, at a large DZ here in Florida, several reserve ripcords were found to have been cut and stuffed back into the housing and not easily noticeable. It's thought it was done by a packer with a vendetta against certain people, but not known for sure. Mike -
The excuse for Andrea not showing this weekend begins.... Mike

Crossbow Try this. I have one...love it...not anywhere near as expensive as the Bowflex....does the same thing...very effective(not as effective as a full set of free weights to do all the same excercises, but cheaper and safer - no spotter needed). The only thing I don't like is that the resistance varies throughout the movement....but it's something you can learn to deal with by adjusting your weight, body position, or range of motion. The increased resistance is a must...the stock 210lbs(I think that's what it is) is nowhere near enough. Mike

Me too.... ....and I must say, this is an understatement.....both groups tend to drink like freakin' Vikings! Well, at least the people I work and jump with! Mike

I'm not familiar with the bankruptcy laws....but would filing allow them to get out of ALL pension they owe? I was under the impression that they could get out of part of it....for some reason, 40% comes to mind.....but I didn't think they could get out of paying ALL of it... Mike
